Oh, duh. Thanks! There’s also a raven pet for Glacial Peaks with description of “Window of Spirits Campaign”, so we even have a name as well I should remember to check all the pages to confirm assumptions.
Yep, it was available for a long while now, but we just got more confirmation about it.
It also come with Vulpacea Kingdom debut, so I’m curious if there is any spirit/ghost connect there. Campaign heroic gems seems to be Spirit Gem, which can drain mana. Vulpacea doesn’t seem to have any, as it already have choice spell gimmick, but let’s see later.
This is the art of the mythic and campaign icon. Quite creepy! I wonder if there is any connections between this raven and Queen Mab’s minion, who can turn to Borealis.
Also, we got the delve map for Court of Foxes. It use the faction icon itself as a layout, so creative! So this image work too.
As it was 3-room short path faction, it shouldn’t be too hard. Excited to learn about their spell and trait later!
My guess was right! And I love the armor so much. Will definitely get it in that Holiday event!
Hope everyone enjoys their last day of peace.
If I understand the schedule correctly:
Holiday Event: Dec 19th - Jan 1st (2nd-8th as 1 week buffer to claim rewards)
Kingdom Pass: Jan 2nd - Feb 5th (35 days)
Legends Reborn: Jan 2nd - Jan 15th
Holiday Event: Jan 16th - Jan 29th (30th - 5th as 1 week buffer to claim rewards)
– small break –
New Kingdom/ Kingdom Pass: Feb 20th (probably for another 35 days)
Not to mention all the other Events on top of that, ie. World Event, GW, Raid, Bounty, the list goes on.
I’m sorry, but
WHAT
IS
THIS?
AND THIS?
These “arts” are just ugly. Maybe this artist is good in drawing Hellcrag troops, but please, do not allow him/her to make pictures for other kingdoms. Simply compare those two nightmares to Medea:
See the difference?
Good catch. And totally useless in defense, the AI will be choosing the wrong way always.
Not really…?
If anything, Medea is the worse looking of the three, with arcane pattern on her skin and blue hand.
Evil Mage looks beautiful, if not a bit too nice. Owl Harpy was supposed to be a bit strange and monsterous, but her dress is a bit too simple for me. Although, I have to admit she doesn’t really fit with other Stonesong Eyrie troop.
Maybe the issus is just that arts are subjective? Could you explain farther? They’re nowhere near as bad as Star Mage, Frost Archer, or Arctic Fox.
Okay, another two examples: Evil Sorceress
and Harpy
Look at the faces. Medea, Evil Sorceress and Harpy have appropriate faces. While Evil Mage and Owl Harpy look silly (with a bit of “nice” in case of Evil Mage). Like they both have Down syndrome. Paint them gray and put into Hellcrag to other bad sculptors’ works, if you want to leave them in the game.
And yes, you correctly remembered Frost Mage and Arctic Fox. There was also a lame Kitsune, but the devs replaced it with much better picture already. We have enough bad arts in the game. I’d be glad to see new arts for Evil Mage and Owl Harpy.
No, they don’t look like that. They are a little cross-eyed, however.
But no troop looks as bad and unfinished as that one centaur chick that always forget the name of. Thaumataur or something like that…
It’s not my favorite art style, either. But the evil but not that evil looking lady isn’t that bad, and the owl is kind of cute. (Sorry! )
I think art is subjective so some may find this style to be totally awesome, others meh, others may hate it.
I think it’s okay.
This one hits the mark (IMHO, of course).
Not denying that she looks way, way better.
It’s just okay artwork, the gow troop picture of evil mage.
For some reason, many of the troops with really cool artwork seem to have not much going on for them (if anything) besides of the art.
I dunno what Midjourney is thinking all the time but these are kinda sick for the Owl Harpy:
Full disclosure: did not use source image for these. Also I’m not sure those are owls.
One more for fun:
As an artist myself I agree with @Nullings comments about GoW’s troops when it comes to their artwork.
I see some of them needing some slight adjustments and already draw in my head what I could’ve done differently while I’m playing the game.
Sometimes at the end of the day, a person could draw something so awesome, if the client is asking for another look or something specifically it wouldn’t matter. The client gets the final say no matter what and that’s how it goes.
I like those owl harpy references by the way.
Ok Medea and Owl Harpy are better in some way than the spoiler troops but these spoiler art are not extremely bad, they are ok, not fantastic but passable. A straight 6/10.
Medea, sure it shows more skills and dedication from his author. The arcane pattern and glowings hands are well made imho.
The problem is, as TimeKnight said, the new troops are made by another artist, thats why they dont fit each other from previous art / artist
Anyway, for me, there are far worse artworks in the game
Whoa… I’m excited to learn how Wandering Merchant will work later!

Sounds like they plan to import the Adventure Mode from PQ3 into Gems of War. Not sure if this is something to look forward to, probably depends on how much of the PQ3 paywall hell they drag along with it.
Beautiful! That’s a great job.
I’m not sure about the left hand, though. I can’t decide whether that’s 6, 7, or 8 fingers I’m seeing. I guess even Midjourney hasn’t quite solved the AI’s anatomical issues yet. But the composition and color palette are gorgeous.
It very much does, though I’m a bit dubious that the ancient GoW infrastructure can handle PQ3 Adventure Mode. Probably going to receive a revamped Journey Mode (which is a primitive version of Adventure Mode anyways) with added functionality to support these merchant nodes.
Over on the PQ3 side of things, the paywalls aren’t in Adventure Mode… yet. Merchant nodes there are most closely aligned with GoW as the daily flash offer pop-ups after Arena runs. Potentially nice offers for valuable things, but the offers are strictly controlled by the devs and the player has to have to resources on-hand to engage with those offers right there on the spot else the offers are lost to the player.
Though, if the devs could pull off an 3/4 implementation of PQ3 Adventure Mode in GoW, it would be vastly better than GoW Journey Mode by a considerable margin.
