Regarding Guild Wars Change Suggestions - Official Thread

Notice: These are core concepts, if you would like a modification of any of listed concepts please vote on it and specify your preferences in the comments! I kept the concepts “generalised” to see how many people agree to this sort of concept in general (otherwise the votes would spread too much!)

Notice2: “Custom rating” :1234: is similiar to a “team score/team power” but calculated in a different way described in corresponding suggestion entry - applies to gw defense team only. It does not change the original “team score/team power” of the defense team, just introduces another (new) variable. Does not equal to gw points. GW points are the points earned in gw fights and showed in gw ranking.

QoL:

  • :star: Show separate/additional GW BATTLE LOG for gw fights alone
  • :star: STOP RESETTING GW DEFENSE teams! Especially don’t reset it into a pvp defense team. if you must reset it, make it a separate, selectable team slot. Perhaps even make the defense teams to be pinned to its corresponding colors - so during reset they are assigned to the appropriate color-corresponding wars (opponent guilds).
  • :star: Allow to TEST GW DEFENSE teams directly, regardless to pvp defense team
  • :star: Release GW TROOPS INTO GUILD CHESTS right away, dont hold them to be gw-exclusive at all → concerns all future gw troops as well

GW Gameplay changes:

  • :stop_sign::star: REQUIRE HEROES to be used in gw fights
  • :cake::star: REVERSE SENTINEL BONUSES for gw attacking (leave bonuses for gw defense the way they are)
  • :cake::star: LOWER SENTINEL COSTS or adjust sentinel cost according to gw bracket, or change sentinel costs to require-easier obtainable resources
  • :star: Rework of the 4-COLOR team BONUS: change +X to Mastery to +X% to Mana Surge
  • :star: Rework of the 4-COLOR team BONUS: change to Gain bonus +1 Mana from color Gem matches (like a link trait).
  • :star: Completely remove LOOP BREAKER / CASCADE BREAKER from guild wars → bring true RNG

Schedule timing:

  • :date: Allow more FREEDOM to choose WHEN TO FIGHT in gw (even if at cost of daily wins) - especially allow to do all the fights earlier to leave few gw-free days at the end of gw-week serving as real life emergency insurance
  • :date: Regularly schedule WEEKS completely GW-FREE
  • :date: Allow gw FIGHTS even AT REST DAY
  • :date: SHIFT GW WEEK to start at different day, so the weekend is not last day of gw
  • :date: Give out MORE GW ENERGY towards each day(war), perhaps reward unused energy with a few extra gw points
  • :date: Give MORE GW FIGHTS overall per week (and give appropriate amount of gw energy needed to attempt those attacks)

Gw points distribution:

  • :family_woman_girl_girl::100: Allow more freedom to CHOOSE WHICH OPPONENT to fight within the corresponding opponent rank (especially after a failed gw attack)
  • :family_woman_girl_girl::100: Allow more freedom to CHOOSE WHICH opponent RANK to fight (preferably allow to fight each rank once, regardless to win count)
  • :family_woman_girl_girl::100: COMPLETELY REMAKE OPPONENT CHOICE SYSTEM so that all defending members must be defeated and each attacking member can choose who of those to defeat (more cooperation within a guild, similiar system to “summoners war”)
  • :100: Allow a guild with LESS THEN 30 MEMBERS fighting in gw - to not suffer in the gw ranking progression (see link to another poll below, regarding how many members is ok)
  • :100: Allow AUTO-COMPLETE gw fights for selected/missing members
  • :100: More CUSTOM WAYS to gain BONUS % POINTS, example: for using troops with daily/weekly Dev-choosen spell effects
  • :cake::shield::100: [DEF incentive] Extra GW POINTS for dev-choosen daily/weekly TROOPS AT GW DEFENSE (would probably require locking the defense)
  • :100: SHIFT POINTS DISTRIBUTION among members according to their rank → paragon can earn most
  • :100: Set MORE CRITERIA by which to determine points → example: damage dealt

GW Rewards:

  • :gift: Grant EXP TO STATUE of corresponding color for each personal gw fight victory
  • :gift: Give one copy of weekly GW TROOP for each personal gw fight victory
  • :gift: REMOVE DAILY WIN concept & rewards alltogether
  • :gift: CHANGE DAILY WIN exp % bonus TO GOLD % bonus
  • :gift: Better DISTRIBUTION of the rewards → a little less for the 1st few ranks and more for the lower brackets / ranks below
  • :gift: Rearrange rewards to also REWARD ranking WITHIN A BRACKET
  • :gift: CHANGE REWARDS WEIGHT within a guild to reward members according to their actual activity towards that gw → example: reward according to personal victory count, or personal points gained, or personal fights played - in comparison to total done by the guild
  • :gift: Give EXTRA SEALS (or other resources) for each personal gw invade victory
  • :cake::shield::gift: [DEF incentive] Assign ADDITIONAL GW DEF REWARDS (resources) example: one reward per week (per troop) for a successful defense including that troop

Defense team changes:

  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] TROOP used repetitively in gw defense WILL LOOSE STATS for each extra day(war) used within one gw week
  • :shield: Apply NO EVENT STAT % BONUSES to gw defense teams
  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] EVENT PENALTIES to stat % instead of event bonuses
  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] DISALLOW DUPLICATES within a single gw defense team
  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] DISALLOW DUPLICATES in gw defense teams counting in all wars(days) together → requires use of 24 unique troops in total (could require locking gw defense teams)
  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] BIND DEFENSE TO OFFENSE gw teams → gw defense team chosen automatically from last week corresponding attack teams (will probably require locking gw defense teams)
  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] BAN certain COLORS in gw defense for corresponding days(or wars) (will probably require locking gw defense teams)
  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] COMPLETELY PRESET gw defense teams, using a way chosen by devs (will probably require locking gw defense teams)
  • :1234: Arrange completely new STATIC GW DEFENSE TEAM RATING SYSTEM to rate gw defense teams → rating system rules do not change → example: rate higher or lower a troop color depending on its corresponding war(day) color, rate true mythics higher, rate duplicates higher (please select an incentive or restriction to go along with this “custom gw defense rating”)
  • :1234: Arrange completely new EVENTED GW DEFENSE TEAM RATING SYSTEM to rate gw defense teams → rating system rules change, are different for each week → example: rate depending on last week “popularity/usage” of the given troops, or depending on custom weekly-evented dev troop list (please select an incentive or restriction to go along with this “custom gw defense rating”)
  • :1234: Arrange completely new PERSONAL GW DEFENSE TEAM RATING SYSTEM → troop rating changes with personal count of how many times you used that troop in gw defense → example: troop used 0 times will give lowest rating, troop used 1000+ times will give highest rating (please select an incentive or restriction to go along with this “custom gw defense rating”)
  • :stop_sign::1234: [DEF restriction] DISALLOW GW DEFENSE ABOVE certain RATING → uses custom gw defense rating (please select a “custom gw defense rating system” to go with it)
  • :stop_sign::shield: [DEF restriction] LOCK GW DEFENSE team for the week → only changeable by player during the rest day if at all (select this if you would like any sort of defense change that could require this)
  • :shield: DO NOT LOCK gw defense team → select this only if you dont want any suggestion that could require this

We already have a 200+ post thread, so is another really necessary? And this poll is too broad to be useful, and doesn’t have options for other positions on the same issue. If I don’t vote for “release GW troops into chests immediately” for example, does that mean I don’t care about the issue, or that I strongly feel that GW troops should stay special/exclusive, or just that the specific wording doesn’t match the persons opinion. Don’t see this thread going anywhere useful, it’s just going to regurgitate the other thread with unnecessary duplication :frowning:

How long will these polls be open?

i doubt ill ever close it :stuck_out_tongue: the question is for how long devs will consider any suggestion to guild war changes before they make gw final :stuck_out_tongue:

in this case if you want them anyhow more obtainable , or faster obtainable, then its current way (exclusive to guild wars until another set of gw troops is released - then go to guild chest) then you should vote on it?

and sorry i didnt specify it more broad, tiried my best, and no i dont think i should have posted a poll in the middle of official thread - it would get completely lost in there

Yes it is. As you said on the initial topic:

I believe that most of the players would not read these 300+ posts and just post their suggestions which mostly have already been posted 3 times…

The poll is here just to catch a somewhat popularity of the suggestions made by the community. You can tick the suggestions that you think are good ones :wink: .

It would mean that you don’t care about this suggestion being implemented. Nothing more. There is no issue only suggestion. And the wording is more or less what the initial suggestion was, coming from @Annaerith’s great work to summarize 300+ posts.

I think this is a great summary done by @Annaerith, and is really valuable to see a bunch of the ideas at a glance, kudos for doing so much work. However, I don’t believe the way it is structured as a poll can provide a reasonable view of peoples opinions. It simply tries to cover too many items with a minimal amount of detail, which really limits it’s usefulness. But if others see a benefit to this, great, have fun :wink:

That’s a great summary of the suggestions, which as stated, most of us won’t read through. I agree with @beanie42 beanie42, that there is some distinction missing between don’t care/don’t want, but if some suggestions reach 30-40% of votes, maybe they should be at least considered. But there are some suggestions, which have very small impact on the game, I guess those will reach mostly “don’t care” votes, while there could be nice ideas/intentions behind them.

Also I didn’t vote on the third poll. I’m all for some ideas to reduce the meta-defenses but I think it’s much too complicated, to think about the implications of some of these concrete suggestions and to prefer one over another.

Ping for more votes, i gues after the official thread ppl dont have much to comment…

I found the poll useful for consolidating a super-long thread and revisiting the ideas. Well done @Annaerith

I agree with others voicing their support for this consolidation of ideas. Excellent job @Annaerith, I wish there was a point system where users could reward each other for posts well done as you certainly deserve something for this.
