Phantom update required

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened?
Gems is currently bugging me to download an update, except there is none available.

I can return to the game and access all normal features, but for about 5-10 seconds. Then the update message comes up again and I have to cycle back to the App Store.

Happening to me as well. Playing on Steam.

I have the exact same problem. Pretty annoying. Hope it gets fixed soon

I just checked, the problem is on Steam as well and Steam updates automatically. The game actually loads fine if you don’t push the quit button, but you can’t do anything until you press it and then it shuts down.

I did manage to collect tribute in between visits to the App Store, so at least I am good until everyone gets back from lunch in Melbourne.

@Sheba, that is the same thing I am seeing on iOS (dialog box is just an overlay on top of normal behavior).
