My V.I.P days are over Until/Unless Explode is fixed

That’s fortunate for you. Point is that the OP’s ultimatum is a waste of time and the post smells like entitlement based on VIP level, when VIP level is actually the least valuables leg to stand on, imo. The money has already been spent, changes are made to get nonspenders to spend. If you’ve already spent your money, threatening to stop is of little consequence. Some person satisfied with the changes will pick up the slack, and they aren’t going to beg you to stay.

This post just gave them the opportunity to reinforce the idea that the devs aren’t requiring anyone to spend (see salty’s shrug of a comment).

Once they used your money, you have no value, they can change whatever they want in the game after they made you spend.

As a level 1555+ player, I love new content and new things to do. How is it only for new people and new spenders?

@Saltypatra @Cyrup I would just like to say that I love when you guys shake things up. It helps me reevaluate the game, and try new troops/strategies that I haven’t thought of before. It is what keeps me playing the game, so I just want to say thank you guys!!

P.S. You can’t please everyone. It always makes me laugh that people complain about updates after having played the new content for 2 seconds. The out-of-control complaining will die down in t-minus 2 weeks I am sure. Let the count down begin!

Not saying only for, it is designed to increase spending amongst new players and those who haven’t spent, and to create a new way of thinking about resource usage. Pets, for example, encourage gem usage by new players who cant complete all 8 battles, just to keep up. Newer players, who are in need of troops, and might not be able to manage full Raid/invasion performance, can spend gems to keep up. They don’t have the kingdom power levels to support the gems needed, nor the fully ascended, leveled, and traited troops to mitigate spending.

The emerging (if not fully developed) picture is that reward to amount of time grinding ratio is being deflated. What’s next? They’ve failed to give me any other reason to spend money on gems since the day almost all of many kingdoms hit power level 7.

Newer players, who do not know about gems in LTs, and never knew the potential gem rewards of playing guild wars every week, look at 1850 gems (needed for tier 7) very differently than someone who remembers a time when gems flowed more freely. How you or i feel about more sinks and less rewards will be different than someone who never knew, and our opinions on the direction of the game matter far less than newer players.

Creating gold sinks that detract from legendary tasks, which produce keys that get gems, further reduces rewards. The new era of gems is looking like a service where even the most developed player will no longer be able to meet the demands of top 10 guild life without spending real money on the most absurdly priced resource in the game…that is, unless the top 10 guilds start electing to skip something.

What I’m really down on is that all signs are pointing to another weeklong event in October/November that will push guild wars to every 4 weeks. If such a new event is coming, and it isn’t a gem-gain, it’ll be the end of the road for some “core players.”

The features might be cool, and even fun to play, but what they mean for the future of the game flies in the face of anyone acting like the money they have already spent means anything.

If someone chooses to spend money that’s up to them. It is your right to not put money into the game.

I don’t see any problem with the change. The extra magic from kingdoms and such in the future will make up for this change maybe. I’ve been playing today and it’s not a huge difference in my opinion.

Explosion teams were a plague to gameplay and I am glad a change has been made.

The way they kinda force New players to spend gems to even be close to their guild mates much higher level it’s absolutely gross, not to mention when they release a new troop fully know that their skill it’s unbalanced so the people spend their last gems to try and get it so after a month or whatever might be the devs “well we think that skill it’s really unbalanced so we need to nerf it” well no sh $#@… you knew that from the start. Can you do something about it? No because apparently is a service that they can change however they want. But no worries there are always the sheep class supporting them

Actually, no it isnt. If I buy a car it stays the same, now if the car maker comes to my house and changes out my 200hp engine for a 100hp engine that would be the same. This is BS plain and simple. Broad strokes dont work and the exloder nerf is a broad stroke. How about we just make all the gems grey so everyone can make a match and win. There will be no losers than and nerfs wont matter.

Can I formulate new teams, sure, do I want to, hell no. I’ve spent a year building my deck and learning how to play core teams that work, now I have to make all new teams because alot of my aces are 3’s now(guild wars). So yeah, I supported the game alot and am pissed that they did this.

Guess I will use my extra time on more productive things. Thanks devs.

Hold on there, I have been completely agreeing with you this whole conversation until you went and said GoW was not a hamburger. Mine is most definitely a hamburger.

I’ll give you an unbiased response.

Devs to me, heartlessly put is a service provider for my entertainment and i have no vested interest in them.

Explosion needed to be nerfed.
I was an avid mana converter user since i have OCD (or CDO, better in alphabetical order) and wanted to know exactly where my gems fell or whether i would get an extra turn or not.
But once i managed to build a number of teams that minimized risk from explosions there was no further strategy in the game.
The match 3 game became a Blow up game.
The strategy was explode first think later.
I’m (grudgingly) glad they downgraded the explosion and i went back to re-visit some of the old teams and was pleasantly surprised how well they still worked albeit slower but performance wise.
It gave me a renewed sense of returning to the essence of a 3 match game.

Now as to your point, i played for a year and a half to get to where i am now.
I don’t agree with you at all a new player should have an equal footing as what i have built without the same effort i put in.
If you feel this is unfair then splash the cash to speed up (but not complain then).
It’s not your responsibility at your stage that you should keep up with your guild but rather if you’re in an established guild they should be the ones pulling you up.

Running a number of guilds now i have seen a trend with new beginners who want everything now and everyone owes then everything.
I also spent enough cash on this game and i experienced the same nerf as you did yesterday.

You can continue to mourn over the cash you spent which will not get you anywhere or you can move on and adopt to the new structure of the game (and try and enjoy it).

Also i would appreciate if you can make a more constructive response instead of all this childish name calling.

How is that childish? Or better, what is childish? Calling people RUDE NAMES when they get all kind of injustice and shut up? Saying how happy they are? Duuuude…no

(Sneaky Salty edit.)

You have the right to be here and complain about “injustice”, they have the right to say they are happy with the changes. Now go ahead and call me sheep lmao

I call that being fake.

I usually find people who raise their voice or insult others have no logical counter arguement.

And dudette is the right word, thank you

If you actually read the thead from the start you would see my points and some other people like me but sure, dudette

Wow do you really think that everyone is just as frustrated as you but they choose to compliment the devs instead? and for what?

By the way I personally don’t mind the change too much (although probably something like 60% would be better) my dragon team is as strong as ever, also thanks devs for the Worldbreaker buff, (yeah I know techincally is not but that +5 on the last trait with a looping team is glorious)

I have read from the beginning but only responded now which is how i covered all your points.

Your sense of categorizing people is as black and white as your clothing.

I don’t want to derail this thread making personal insults (which i may already have) so i’ll stop here.

I’m here to make friends not enemies.

It’s for the people that think “ohh it’s not that bad, I didn’t get trampled that much” that they can continue doing this, after you spent money on something you don’t have anymore.

I have nothing to hide…dudette.
