That’s the issue with just taking back the gems….how do you take them back from those that just blew through them so they “couldn’t" take them back???
We are all getting punished for those greedy ones that thought they were going to ‘pull a fast one’s on the devs.

That’s why I keep questioning it and am not getting an answer. You don’t do a rollback unless it’s last resort, not when there’s new data and real money involved. People spent money today, are they getting all that back, plus interest for the time wasted?
Two words: Server logs. They query for transactions indicating spent gems, reverting whatever was acquired and refunding the Gems.
Well, at least this explains the inability to connect on any platform (including Switch) today.
They might of just rolled our accounts back to the start date of when gow started and after realizing the issue they just threw their hands up and went for a pint of beer. Just having some levity with everything that’s happened this week…
But they’ve already only got 2 hamsters on a wheel working there (I’m assuming) …..that would make them have to go through every account individually when this way they just “Ooops, problem solved” all in one incompetent action
Exactly. I would think having to fix the data post rollback, would cause way more issues and cost more time, than just reverting the erroneous resource push.
This is beyond ridiculous. Rolling back my efforts for today and preventing me from completing daily objectives. This is possibly the worst one yet. A better company would just take their lumps on this error.
You can’t fix issues that people spend years complaining about, but as soon as it’s something the company doesn’t want, just shut the whole thing down and disrupt everyone

At this point I just want my money back that I spent on this game for 10 years now. Including all the new consoles and controllers and stuff I bought over the years just to play Gems of War. Might be a few 1000 bucks by now …
They gave over 100,000+ gems to some players and some of those players started spending them right away into chests making it even harder to unwind all the unnatural spent resources.
Hopefully most people are sensible to realize that’s just something they can’t let people keep from no effort..
Had to write this.
A vault weekend, 3 hours play each day, gets me 150 verses . Mixed obviously.
Thats 40 gaps, equates to approx 800 vks and 80 evks , on average i get 5 or 6 of the 900 gem keys. So thats 6k per vault weekend.
10 months equals 60k gems. So 9 hours a weekend once a month.
Am i really the only one, that thinks 100k gems. Isnt a big deal.
I actually think , that doing 1000 pvp in 1 day, is more hard work, than chilling over 10 weekends over 10 months.
They should of took the hit, instead of destroying the work of a whole playerbase.
Im sorry but 100k isnt a big deal. And i only got 12k. And im not bothered about guildies getting 300k. Maybe its a maturity thing.
been 4.5 hours since i know thy cut the game off.

i suppose i should be happy the only thing i had done at the time was underspire, because missing all my daily stuff, esp the gold marks, is really gonna ps me off, but having done that and then finding out it didn’t count would have been even worse.
figure i need 30 minutes min to do everything for one day, so they are running out of time
it is for them if they make a lot of money on gem purchases.
this is a for profit game. i’m f2p, lots of others are, so giving away what would be millions of dollars of gems if they had been purchased is not something they can ignore.
also, your stats are… elitist. almost nobody is getting 150 verses a gnome weekend. you’re among the elite. i’m sure we’re all universally poed about the monumental screw up, it might drive a lot of $$ spenders away and collapse the entire game. but I don’t think they could have let that much potential cash go.
So people that dont buy, dont buy. Cant change that.
People that do buy got extra tiday, that would of eventually ran out. And they would of bought again.
So instead, there taking all work done today, off the buyers.
Il use common sense and think, therell now be a hell of a lot less buys across 4 platforms. Than there would of been. If they left the rollback undone.
2 or 3 months, excess gems would be gone , and buyers would buy.
Its small minded, to annoy every buyer.
Im a buyer. Got 13k gems tiday. If a pet pops up, i buy to mythic. Its about 3k gems.
4 pets, my gems would of been gone.
And id buy again.
If they take away my work, they can whistle for my money.
Ok i sit on wild plains explore 1.
Dust devil team. I put a movie on, i play the game while watching movie.
2 movies later i have 40+ verses.
Done this, every month, for the last 2 years.
Its not hard to do lol. I just press a button.

As far as I can tell, having more gems leads to more buys, more playtime and more longevity for the game. Aka more happiness and success for both sides. It would have been the best way to secure another decade of people wanting to play and support this game since they finally could take a big step into reaching end game status.
On the other hand. Taking away what players rightfully earned, being totally unrelated to bugged rewards, usually has the opposite effect. And once the most loyal players are gone, they’re GONE FOREVER.
Stimulus packages puts money into the economy hence “Stimulus”. The Developers haven’t any business sence a down game can’t generate revenue.
as far as you can tell. maybe you’re right. but what is the value of 50k gems when purchased? from THEIR eyes, that’s the amount of real cash they just lost
even if you weren’t going to buy a BMW, if the company gave you a BMW, that’s money they lost.
i think the prices are vastly overpriced in this game. i also don’t know what % of income they get in gem sales. but i’m a consumer of their product, and from their business end they have different priorities.
y’all may be right, the ppl leaving the game from lost time might be worth more than the actual gems sales they would have gotten. but i don’t know their sales, so i can understand them wanting to reverse that.
otoh, it’s now been upward of 6 hours and i am jonesing for daily play.
i won’t even be able to waste time chatting if the game comes back up.
Not to mention it’s still got PvP in the game…
