Library Compensation Server Rollback

Why exactly are they doing a rollback, that’s the part I’m trying to understand. Is something truly broken and does not work going forward? Is the only reason to pull back the erroneous resources given out earlier? They’re going to rollback a day’s progress for the entire player base, for a resource error in our favor? Seems very odd.

Easiest option for them, really. Just go back in time and pretend nothing happened…for now. (in reality, they have a TON of work ahead of them making things right both for the honest players and the greedy morons)

Plus, it’s Friday; they’d normally all be gone by now. :wink:

So, if the Star Stones from AB are taken away, will AB be reset so we can earn them again? Or will the missing Star Stones from today’s AB be sent out to players who already collected them?

Sending them out probably will result in another rollback, wiping out everything from 2026 so far …

Same boat. A little over an hour ago I got home and tried logging in.. network error. I came on here to find out what was going on and read about this mess. I’m glad I wasn’t around earlier to get more negatively impacted by it. I feel bad for the people that wasted a lot of time playing today.

Having been in QA and ‘unprepared rollback like this’ it NEVER goes smoothly. I can think of ten things this Dev didn’t think of with the rollback. Especially some of the more time sensitive actions. Biggest is those of us Underspire loosing a whole day + the work done already for that day. On a Friday with two days left. Or the PVP… I’m in 6th place on the leader board. Moved up by two tonight. Now that is all gone. And the hourly tributes. This is a nightmare.

I don’t think any of that is what they care about at all….they sent out 100s of thousands of $$ in free gems and THAT’S what they are worried about

What I can’t understand is everyone received an ingame email with exact amounts they were ‘given’. And I know that it’s stored since the inbox contained that information. What would have been the best way is to do (and I don’t care if it’s 2000 or 20000 players) code to retrieve the email, and a code to remove that exact amount from each player.

Contain what damage though? That’s what I’m asking. Is something actually broken? Or do they just want to rollback the resources given out? We’ve dealt with a lot of things in the last 10 years and this is the first time I’ve been genuinely ticked about something they’ve done. I’m trying to determine if it is justified, or if they have a valid reason for negating the time and progress of all players. Pulling back accidental resources is not a valid reason.

If it’s determined that something is broken ongoing, then I completely understand the need. Just trying to see where we stand. If this is how players are going to be treated, I don’t think my spending money on the game, will be justified going forward.

Having gone through the 10k Gem fiasco in the early days of this game. I know how fast most people spent that. For those that pay, they would have gotten some stuff, or burned right through where they are going to need things next month.

And that was a TOTAL mess.

That’s the issue with just taking back the gems….how do you take them back from those that just blew through them so they “couldn’t" take them back???

We are all getting punished for those greedy ones that thought they were going to ‘pull a fast one’s on the devs.

There’s no way they were going to accept losing the money they would have through this

That’s why I keep questioning it and am not getting an answer. You don’t do a rollback unless it’s last resort, not when there’s new data and real money involved. People spent money today, are they getting all that back, plus interest for the time wasted?

Two words: Server logs. They query for transactions indicating spent gems, reverting whatever was acquired and refunding the Gems.

Well, at least this explains the inability to connect on any platform (including Switch) today.

They might of just rolled our accounts back to the start date of when gow started and after realizing the issue they just threw their hands up and went for a pint of beer. Just having some levity with everything that’s happened this week…

But they’ve already only got 2 hamsters on a wheel working there (I’m assuming) …..that would make them have to go through every account individually when this way they just “Ooops, problem solved” all in one incompetent action
