A rollback of the server is currently underway so any progress will not be saved during this process. This will take a few hours, but once done, the Library compensation issue should be resolved. We know rollbacks are disruptive, but this is the fastest way to contain the damage. Any purchases made today that are affected by the rollback will be manually compensated through Customer Service. Additional cleanup will still be required after the rollback and may take a few more days.
We’ll be sending a global compensation to all players next week so please stay tuned for a follow-up announcement. Thank you for your patience while we work through this!
[UPDATE #1] We’ve taken the game offline during our rollback maintenance. This should take a few hours to complete.
I didn’t spend any of those gems because I knew a fix would come quickly, just like that time with the 13k silver keys…
But I played for 3 hours today, and I hope you don’t erase those 3 hours of progress and then offer 50 gems in compensation as if those 3 hours of my time were really only worth that much…
The way I see it, this is a bank error in our favor. So why are the devs punishing the playerbase for a mistake that they’re clearly responsible for? Especially those who poured their time and money into this game? You’d think they’d be willing to let something like this slide, especially after nickel and diming the remaining players they haven’t alienated, yet.
Because they don’t care about the game, only the profits. There are problems waiting years for a fix, but since it doesn’t involves their money, there are no efforts.
Though a rollback (the first I’ve ever experienced in a game) kinda does feel like the only way this massive, snowballing error (from a stupid little mistake, probably) can be fixed with minimal headaches on their end, it also feels like a knee-jerk reaction, and is obviously very problematic for many, with issues I wouldn’t have even considered, like the guild question that Norfolk_Jack mentioned above.
A rollback is fairer than leaving everything as it is, imo. The enormous difference in rewards received is simply unfair. However, there must be compensation for playtime, tributes, and progress—and it should be more than 50 gems.
