Journey now unplayable at higher levels

this is a joke for those who know of the youtube channel those who dont check him out.

this is a case for the spiffing britt to see if it is perfectly balanced and had no exploits.

I would argue that the weekly guild events are not optional in the opinion of a great many players. Our guilds expect us to do them. There is no reward from the event that is any way useful for a high level player – even shiny keys, which I do still get some benefit from, are close to worthless with the change to the journey troops – so it’s just a chore with no reward. And chores are more pleasant when we can do them quickly and without paying much attention.

It’s not that the event can’t be done, or that it’s difficult. It’s that it’s not really an optional part of the game. And there are many other parts of the game that I would rather be playing.

I legit don’t get this nerf. I hear it’s because of pvp, but IF they actually used the teams players used to attack, I reckon there’d be hardly any journey teams, as they take ages even if they are safe. Secondly, there are tons of teams that are as annoying or worse in PvP such as Zuul/Diamantina/impervious/trick and treat teams, skull teams, goblins, hourglass teams, spirit gem teams, etc.

I’m sure you’ll get over it, as your in a high guild.

And only one defender of update in this thread - @TheTruth … Looks legit

I do love that your pic, is chalcedony a journey troop.

The image shows exactly why they’ve been nerfed. :joy:

I do love that you don’t have pic at all. Development team bot?

Didn’t know any troops started with a 59% mana start :smirk:.
What does how long a troop(s) has been in the game have to do with wether it’s nerfed or not?
Journey troops were only good when paired with the correct troop type
I don’t care about the nerf personally but I care about the reasoning behind the nerf when as said, goblins have been looping people to death for years.

Fourdottwoone mentioned headstart. Now there’s no proof that the current leaderboard is full of people who purchased that boost. If most of them did though how would that change the calculation? An extra 3000 pts right at the start has got to affect what the actual buy-in rate is to get all the rewards.

Just for you.

Iv put a pic on, of a proper troop to use.

I thought about that possibility too especially considering how recent the account is. That or it could just an extreme contrarian troll account. Just block/ ignore that user.

i have typed how i think the spell should have been reworked

easiest way would have been:
“deal [magic +4] damage then create [magic / 3] gems”

tie the spell in to magic so when you use it in journey the gems boost because captains magic boosts

sadly, that’s still too dangerous. probably even more so than the original version.

I’m staring at a Seekra with +36 magic from 4 purple troops, 4 zhul’kari troops, zhul’kari team bonus 5, and 4 elf troops.

So after everything added together, Seekra has 93 magic with an Anu medal on. Divide that by 3 and I’m still making 31 Purple Gems there.

Wouldn’t have worked. Gem creation doesn’t scale well, it reaches a point fast where you won’t ever lose your turn again. The formula above is easy to exploit in that regard, changing the scaling just delays the inevitable.

In this case, one could make the formula:
“deal [magic +4] damage then create [magic * 0 + 10] gems”
During the journey, 20 stones would be created, outside the event - 10 stones

The spell got nerfed into the ground for creating 15 gems, under the condition that you had all four troops of the same tribe alive in your team. Creating an unconditional 20 gems feels… stronger?

The problem isn’t really gem creation, Journey would probably be okay without it. The problem is that Journey reward thresholds are based on the Pathfinder troop looping indefinitely, which is no longer the case. And the problem is also that we have to lug a now entirely useless Pathfinder troop along, while having to cope with a color AND tribe restriction in team building.

Putting the Pathfinder up front to die a gory death as fast as possible, then summon any other troop as replacement would actually be a very good strategy now. Except that we get docked points for this, first for taking turns to kill off the Pathfinder, then again for actually getting the Pathfinder killed off.

ideally as a community we need to push this event into the ground, until the scaling becomes realistic. just wait for a goblin journey they will get nerfed too.

I’m sitting this event out, the devs have been putting so many nails in the coffin…

Find a new hobby mate, all you do is take a dump on everybody.

Why are you so obsessed with every other player in the game and what they do, and feel the need to troll on everyone and be condescending?

Don’t you have to play your new favorite game mode, Journey? You know, since it’s gotten so much better now?
