Journey now unplayable at higher levels

It would be enough if they were OP in Journey. Or if journey would get changed accordingly.

My hopes aren’t high for next week.

They’re gonna slightly reduce battle levels and call it a day

HOW IS THIS STILL BROKEN???
Event after event Journey remains an absolute misery.

The problem with Journey is how it’s the only event mode where your scoring rate objectively decreases with higher cpu levels.

  • World Events: Collectibles are generally constant (sometimes scaling up) across levels
  • Faction Assaults: Points per battle increase with delve level
  • Raid bosses: Scored by damage dealt to boss (increasing with boss level)
  • Tower Invasion: Scored by # towers defeated, which slowly increases from 1-4 then remains constant as cpu level increases
  • Arena weekends:
  • Journey: Scored by an undisclosed, consistent calculation starting from a constant maximum value, negatively impacted by # turns spent, thus correlating higher cpu levels with lower scores

But the formula for scoring IS disclosed. And very clear (although I agree it is unfair that the higher we go, the less point we get, simply because battles get more and more difficult, longer, and there’s a higher risk of losing a troop or a battle altogether, and it’s VERY annoying).

(from 6.0 patch notes)

From what I can remember, the game first deducts miles from the base score from the battle and THEN applies the multiplier.

One of the major changes they could make to the journey event scoring is just to remove the penalty for taking more than 10 turns to defeat the enemy. They could also increase the journey troop’s magic to ×5 for the event.

There. Easy. Done.

Now let’s try to fix the 99+ other problems with the game…

The current event isn’t too bad if you have Amarok. With firestorm active, he can devour with high success rate. Immune enemies can be cursed with Wand of Stars or Miraji Queen.

Next event, however, will be a nightmare at high levels. Blue Undead have no devourers, lethal damagers (with decent success rate) or consistent loopers to work with. Enemy levels scale super high deep into journey, and guilds that are short of 30 members need to go deep.

Maybe Lady Morana with Fallen Valdis for Darkstorm to boost her lethal chance? Shame Umberwolf isn’t available. Even then, her chances for lethal are much lower than Amarok’s devour, as she has half the boost ratio.

Good job you didn’t really need magic. Once again basically 100 battles with no extra magic against highest point battles
