I’ve been punished for my playstyle

Oh no, I get that. Was just pointing out that he was like that.

Yeah, that’s what I mean. He didn’t really threaten to leave, so much as he got what he wanted and was nasty about it. I can’t remember any times he didn’t get what he wanted and left or threatened to leave. That’s the bit I might not be remembering.
As for the attitude of entitlement, that makes sense for what you were saying. Not a perfect fit, but I see what you meant.

I find it annoying when people think the way they play a game is the “right” way and anyone else is wrong. Totally agree.
Having said that, I think people here are more pointing out that the devs are treating one playstyle more generously than another. Which falls more into the idea of saying one is “right” and one is “wrong”.

Yeah, I don’t think that’s a great tactic. It looks bad and you either have to go through with it and leave the game, or back down and look worse.
If they want to leave, and they’re saying so, fair enough. But they can’t expect one or a few people threatening to leave to change anything.

Agreed. But I think here most of us are agreeing that what the devs did wasn’t fair (some people DID get more than others from the same resources). The debate is whether it was justified, whether people care about other people being treated differently, and whether or not the devs should have done something different.
Still going round in circles, though.

Achilles was a better example. Even Anakin Skywalker..

I think that indeed, we agree, the question is mainly about fairness regardless of the way you play.

And the lack of feedback on these issues does not really help to move things forward…

As for the players who threaten to leave… It is indeed irrelevant in the questions asked about the choice and the consequences of these.

On the other hand, here is what would still save me a feedback from the GoW team from my point of view and for which, it does not give a good impression to leave without an answer:

1- How to justify past purchases containing books for the purpose of using them have become less valuable, so much so that these purchases and uses have enabled many other players to end up with much higher levels of prestige ?

This difference in level translates into a difference of 5 LV for the least significant ones to about 30 LV for those who had really used nothing in books from the beginning.

2- how can one justify the “normal” attendance and use of resources by creating such a gain gap for the same resource ? (I won’t go back over the calculations available here : I’ve been punished for my playstyle - #78 by Kirian )

It is therefore abnormal to be penalized for having used resources following a misjudged conversion because, after some checks, a kingdom in level 20 has had as its conversion book: 1 book = between 3 and 4 crystals instead of 16.

In the current state of conversions, it suggests that the best way to play is to do nothing (doing nothing with these resources)… Which is rather contrary to what we would expect.

Result of the update: Assiduous players, who played regularly and who sought to fulfill the objectives of realms (potentially with purchases of campaign passes, etc.), were heavily penalized by their efforts to correctly set up their accounts…

How can this result be justified?

It is true that overall everyone gains from the update, however, the balance was still not there. But this difference in gain is highly unequal.

For small players and other players who stock a lot, the bet was incredible; for players who made an effort to reach the levels they had before the update (filling in kingdoms, etc.), the update is simply “equivalent”. See a slight more compared to the old system.

I have a concrete example in my guild: we compared a bit the before and after update: one of our players had all these Lv16 realms because he didn’t have “Earn 2500 Faction Renown”.

Result : He ended up with all these royumes lv 60-70 minimum thanks to the astronomical quantity of crystals received. Next to that, I had all used my kingdoms, but my kingdoms barely made it to Level 60. (and for another player, it was even worse, it’s the LV 50 he can’t reach)

We compared in general terms, the overall difference in prestige (simplifying on the LV with statistics):

This player (full lv16 kingdom) ===> (26x70=1.820) + (12x60=720) => 1.820+720 = 2.540 Prestige Levels
Me (with 21 kingdoms lv20, 3 kingdoms lv18, 1 kingdoms lv17, 13 kingdoms lv16) => (21x60=1.260) + (17x50=850) =§ 1.260+850 = 2.110 Prestige Levels

If the conversion was identical: In total, 772,640 exp and 771 prestige lv were “lost” for me.

So instead of having a difference of 430 LV below (knowing that tasks, I have almost more to do unlike him), it would have been a difference of around 341 LV above.

These are the effects of the choice of conversions made, for which it would be good to have explanations. :slightly_smiling_face:

surprisingly, this isn’t the first time and even more surprisingly might not be the last time.

But that’s not really the case. Those players played the game every day, and you know that. They simply had different priorities and weren’t as focused on getting all their Kingdoms to level 30. Just because they didn’t prioritize kingdom leveling as much as you did doesn’t mean they were doing nothing, lol.

The translation may not be ideal, or the sentence incomplete. I’m not saying that players who accumulate don’t play every day. Because indeed, it’s another way to play.

The “to do nothing” was referring rather to the use of resources and not to player activity.

For a game, one would not expect such a disadvantage to have tried to fulfill the existing objectives.

I uninstalled the game a week ago. I will never play any game from 505 Games / Infinity Plus Two again. The update was unfair. I feel cheated. I played for 6 years and was treated like garbage. I hope Gems of War is shut down soon.

Yes, they don’t care. Two other people left the game with me. I’ll delete my account from this forum (notifications) and it will be fine.

Does 505 Games at least pay some rent for the headspace they occupy amongst that subset of “players who uninstalled the game”? It would be a terrible thing if somebody quit playing but was still bothered enough to keep (complaining) here without getting something in return for their angst.

like “I was running 10 miles to tell you how much i don’t care about you”

You get more that you had but still think of it like a treating.

That is like in a fairy tale:

The man found a magic goose, the goose said - make a wish and i will make it true, BUT your neighbour will get twice you have. The man said - poke one of my eyes out!

I just wouldn’t understand that
