The people that play this game the most before 9.2 had a stat advantage and after the 9.2 still have a stat advantage at least in my guild family which is tops on Xbox. Very active guild! Not sure what the complainers are talking about. There is a zero chance that folks that barely play the game are now at the top in stats. If you barely play there is no way to get the books because most top guilds would axe you in a matter of minutes if you do not participate. I think the issue is folks crafting the gold mark troop which was their choice or they were upgrading a kingdom for no good reason while other folks only upgraded because of stat boosts. There are a few folks that got a small advantage because they were lazy or they were working a job but that was just luck and it is not the majority of folks.
high five)
I think a lot of the frustration is not that other did it better or had more books so more resources got converted, but the fact that they pumped up their kingdoms and spent all their books and imperial deeds the weeks, months before the update. When all the frustrations hit it is easy to claim there is something more into the soup as well, instead of accepting that guild mates was already ahead before - and still is after, it is a lot easier to just turn the tables and bring it also into the soup. Your case may grow, but also easier to see through it.
Like who did not wish they had more books or imperial deeds on hand when the update hit.. about everyone.
I know maths.
I just dont care lol.
Im lvl 1786. I hit as hard, and get the same 37 gem tributes.
So im the same as i was.
If your envious, that others got more than you, do you count all your fries, and your families fries at maccies. And cry if you missed out
.
Unless someone can explain what i lost, and not what others gsined. Then its a your problem.
Some of these comments are getting unnecessary.
Everyone should get all of the XP they are owed for all completed tasks, regardless of what order they completed them. Why should we need shiny troop levels just to collect XP for 1000 underworld faction renown? That makes no sense for people whose underworld renown is already close to 95,000.
Just one person here, but most of the time I didn’t use my books till I could go from 16 to 20 in one go.
And a lot of people only really cared about magic…
I really hope the developers can compensate players who had kingdom levels higher than 16 with more XP.
I’ll explain why it’s unfair. For example, upgrading from level 19 to level 20 only gives 2k more XP after 9.2, but the cost is 10 books, which are worth 16k XP. That’s 8 times more XP! EIGHT! All the factors you mentioned that were supposed to make this conversion look balanced actually turned out to be neglectable after experiencing 9.2.
This is especially unfair for players who spent their resources right before 9.2. I know most players are not in this situation, but the number of players suffering this loss is still significant. It is also unfair for players who followed different long-term strategies. You announced this major change only one week before the patch, which gave players almost no time to respond or adjust their plans.
The only problem is that the missing XP amount in the conversion is simply too much, which is why I’m asking for compensation.
Thank you.
Also, you need to factor in the Imperial Deeds needed for 16 - 20. It makes it even worse. 4 = 1 Rainbow Crystal. 600 XP anywhere.
Tell you whats unnecessary, cedric in the epic key vault table and the stupid amount or troops in there. Time and again we’ve asked for this to be addressed but instead we get new currencies to spend money on
On the topic of being punished for being an active player, we already had the inexplicable “VP based on player level” PvP design choice, that now finds itself exacerbated by the Crystals that can be purcha$ed, so stats will be all over the place with even less correlation to Player Level than before.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this were a similar rationale to global population requirements to increase individual kingdoms beyond a certain level. Which is to say that the developers intend for players to not simply focus on a single game mode or a narrow selection of them, but rather to pressure those players to explore everything the game has to offer.
So to use the specific example that you’ve cited? The developers want you using Shiny Keys and maybe even working to farm/buy additional Shiny Keys. You can choose to ignore that part of the game, but doing so has a cost in that you don’t get to continue along that task progression path and reap the rewards for doing so. It’s not a “show-shopper” the way kingdom-related used to be prior to 9.2, but there’s an incentive structure to try to modify your behavior.
Fair enough, but isn’t that sort of confirming OP’s point? You essentially get punished for playing the way you want and are forced to play the way the developers want, when it could be more “open world, complete tasks as you wish.”
That said, I am pleased not to need Books of Deeds anymore.
I agree so much with some sort of compensation, conversions have been really awful and basically nerfed so hard all the progress a long term player made with books. Also I think there’s an absolute need to bring back crystal offers in Explore and PVP shop, this is crucial for the overall health of the game.
I play GoW with a friend for nearly 10 years now. The big difference between us was the underworld 500FF, I spend lost of time to achieve all the factions before potions, and he never do any of the 500FF. So he was stuck with the old power faction level, and he start accumulating lots of ressources, that now transform in a mountain of XP for the new system. The result ? He was able to grow all his kingdoms at level 60 minimum, and twelve at level 70, where I am max level 55, and some very low… There is 10 magic point of difference now ! He never take time to do an important part of the game, (maybe the most difficult one), and he is rewarded for !!! Something is very very bad in this udapte, and I think many players will quit the game if you don’t fix this stupid situation.
And that is why I uninstalled the game. I put in a ticket and was instantly replied to basically to bad so sad. This never should have happened. The same situation in my guild with similar level players who did not spend books and deeds upgrading. They leapfrogged me. That can never be replaced unless compensated. Why did the devs reward that? It’s like they said, those players will just take it. It is wrong. Not listening to us either is also wrong. I can only do the one thing. Uninstall and never buy/play anything from the same company.
It’s really a shame that the conversion was done so poorly, because the update is way off from that…
After a few checks, a kingdom in LV 20 has had as its book conversion: 1 book = between 3 and 4 crystals.
This is the most significant loss, but here’s what happened with levels 16 to 20:

When you see that, you can’t say the system was just… We can clearly see that those who made no effort to build their kingdoms are between 2 and 37 lv ahead of those who used their resources normally.
These players now find themselves completely out of touch with no chance of catching up.
Result of the update: the assiduous players, who played regularly (see paid for campaign passes etc.) were heavily penalized by their efforts to set up their accounts properly…
@Jeto I don’t know if you have planned to do a few things to rebalance all this, but it is certain that doing nothing is not a good solution. We end up with previously less advanced players who have become much more advanced without any chance of being caught.
You are off a little, they only gave us 10,000 for 16 - 20. We lost ~44 levels 43,800XP per Kingdom. How did they not know this and if they did, brush it off? They just said you got bonuses. The only thing from 16-20 was the point of going to 20 was the +1 skill. Like whatever. Many lost so many levels. 438 if you had ten 20/30 kingdoms. It is staggering. That is 44 skill points.
I don’t like to do so, but I think this is the only solution to show our displeasure, put a negative review on Steam or application store… Done for me, I will change it if the devs make change, but for now, I will never put a coin in this game again, and I will not recommend the game anymore.
I started from the cumulative exp of Lv 1 to 20 and not just Lv 16-20, to remain consistent (after that I didn’t check the initial formulas, because I admit I was part of a document that allowed me to estimate future prestige.
So, there may be some mistakes, but I don’t feel like that’s the case. In any case, even if there is one, the conclusion remains the same.
