War and Peace is becoming a set/block reward for completing an early set of kingdom’s questlines. Most players should be auto-rewarded it, if they don’t already have it, when 4.5 launches (at least, that’s how it worked on beta).
To me, it seems like this makes the explanation for why War and Peace appeared in the Soulforge redundant .
Just wait for the explanation next time Khaziel rolls around and the weapon once again appears in the Soulforge.
Not overwhelmingly used? I wish the matchmaking script was made aware of this fact because it’s not uncommon to get 2 orbweaver teams in ranked PvP. Do we all have to set orbweaver defences before it gets changed?
That’s frustrating to read. Couldn’t it be changed to “give a random red ally 1 mana” (instead of create a red gem), which I think was even Sirrian’s own suggestion in the past? Even if only for the doom weapons where it’s suicide when the spawn breaks your extra turn match?
Yes, it is frustrating to read. It makes me wonder how the code is structured, that it is impossible to have the “give mana” functionality without invoking the “destroy a gem” mechanic. It’s also frustrating that players have said for a long time now, “it doesn’t need to be a good solution, just get rid of the affix”, and now we hear “we couldn’t come up with a good solution, so maybe we’ll just replace the affix”.
Edit: @Lyrian, do you think you should start making a new thread every time you do these stream-transcript posts? They generate tons of discussion, and that inevitably clogs up this thread.
What I heard in the stream was “there’s no solution that won’t upset people, and that people like the way weapons (like Doom Blade) are right now” I thought yeah there is… Simply create a Doom skull. ALL transform X to doom skull weapons should create a Doom skull in the Affix.
Which bumps more attention to Salty’s stream… regardless of good or bad.

Salty 4.5 Preview Stream Notes
– Kingdom Levels are increasing from 10 to 15 max.
– 6 colored deeds and 1 Imperial deed.
– Imperial deeds used for levels 14 -15.
– Each kingdom’s mana mastery determines the colored deeds required to level it past 10.
– There are seperate buttons for leveling Kingdom Power and Kingdom Levels on the base Kingdom screen for quick access for leveling purposes.
– There are some predetermined troops that are obtained at specific pre-10 kingdom levels from that kingdom for free.
– Besides the free troops, the bonuses for a kingdom at level 10 are the same as it currently on Live. Troops are retroactively rewarded for veteran players.
– NEW BONUS: Kingdom Team Bonus (levels 6, 9, 11, 13) Additional bonus for building kingdom based teams.
*** Kingdom Team Bonus STACKS on top of current kingdom team bonuses.
– NEW BONUS: Faction Hoard Bonus (levels 12, 14) → Increases faction hoard bonuses in associated delve by 25% per tier (stackable to 50%).
– Additional stat point for kingdom granted at Kingdom Level 15.
Deeds are the limiting factor in leveling kingdoms past 10 and will be intenationally scarce. Do not expect to level kingdoms past 10 quickly.
Deed Tasks:
– There is a task type for each gem color.
Epic - Colored Deeds only.
Legendary - Colored Deeds and 1 Imperial Deed.
Mythic - Colored Deeds and 2 Imperial Deeds.
In 4.5, the game server will roll one set of Adventure Tasks and issue that same to set to all players that day. Therefore, if the game rolls one of the deed tasks, everyone that day will receive that task.
The chance to roll the 100 gem daily task is not affected by this change.
– World map: There are now additional indicator level for home kingdom and if a class quest is available in the kingdom.
– Home Kingdom changing costs have been removed.
Challenges
– 10 Tiers of difficulty
– Each challenge is completed once.
– A tier completion prize is given for completing all challenges in each tier.
– Players who have all challenges completed start at Tier 2, instead of 1.
– Questlines may be replayable someday (but not in 4.5).
Early-Game Progression
– New accounts will need to unlock kingdoms in predetermined sets.
– Completing each set will unlock the next set.
– Completing sets will yield a specific prize or unlock a game feature.

Invasions
– Raven Towers added to Invasions. (Valravens in tower form)
– Raven Towers can only replace Towers.
– Siegebreakers are effective against Raven Towers.
– Raven Towers can teleport away from the battle, similar to valravens fleeing.
– A Valraven and a Raven Tower cannot spawn in the same match (earlier stages where troops and towers appear at the same time).
– No future plans to make any changes to Treasure Hunt.
NEW STATUS EFFECT: Reflect (Essentially, castable Infernal Armor)
– One time reflection of damage to the unit that caused it.
– Bypasses skull/spell reduction traits.
– Does not provide any damage reduction to the unit receiving damage.
– Effectiveness of Reflect will be evaluated by devs once it foes live, may be adjusted in the future.
General and Bug Fixes
– Flash offers will now appear on the PS4. However, because of policies prohibiting the sale of discounted premium currencies on Sony Platforms, VIP keys will replace Gems in Flash Offers on PS4 only (50 gems → 1 VIP Key).
– Mail reward interface cleaned up.
– Craftable things in the Soulforge now show how many of those things that the player currently has.
– New achievements coming.
– Vault keys now shown on Gnome Vault screen.
– Crash fixes for issues that affected players who were VIP level 20.
– Cleaned up UI issues for iPad players.
– A bunch of minor bug fixes.
– Push notifications: Ozball didn’t know as he didn’t work on that. He suspects there are fixes for this, will ask other devs. @Slypenslyde

Was it mentioned if the “Kingdom Deed’s Pack” will be retroactively rewarded to existing players who have unlocked all kingdoms already?
I had problems with my internet connection so I couldn’t watch, was the release date announced or any hints given?
No, it’s just “SoonTM”.
It was on beta. Everything from the progression revamp should be auto-rewarded on first login when the new update launches for those who have everything already unlocked.
AvengedAgainst asked an excellent question on-stream about the Kingdom Power Task display on the new Kingdom screen:
We will be able to see how many tasks have been completed towards the next Power Star, but will there be a special symbol showing tasks that are currently unobtainable?
If not, please incorporate it in the update.

We aren’t able to make changes of that nature before the update releases, as it would require new symbols and UI, etc.
