Tbh I was expecting it. The only thing they are interested in is your money and in this case your gems. They are not interested in player well being and content, and certainly not community.
The game mode is an indirect tribute nerf. It’s not actually new content. It’s a move away from power orbs because we have them, by gating fancy Dan troops behind a more deliberate barely ever, somewhat never never wall.
I said this when implemented. If they had directly implemented a tribute nerf - the forums would be ablaze and rightly so.
This isn’t about the forum and small community here either, it’s all the guild and alliance discords too, and the invisible players playing without 3rd party assistance, who are universally affected.
My dungeon luck was 2/56 perfect runs and 1 duplicate of 2 green and 1 yellow dragons.
I was close to not doing the dungeon. I tried the tool and it failed just like me, 3 days in a row.
Do you want players to leave?
The community here and on discord keep players invested in this game, greed is not a good look ever, but when it’s masqueraded as even more never never, it’s even more damaging. This is especially so as it has affected those that do their bit for the game and community, which keeps players playing and money flowing, such as Hawx, Gary and Sls who made the tool and everyone else involved in helping maintain the player base.
Great own goal guys.
Get mad!!! Don’t forget to keep supporting these devs! It WILL get better!
If you didn’t have a reason to quit this game, you do now. Get over your addiction.
Also, this game literally just added a full blown slot machine. It requires zero skill and is now 100% random which is creating an unequal playing field. Those who buy dragonite via any method now have the edge. “Pay to win”
Likely because players were only supposed to lose out, not to profit from it. There would have been two ways to resolve this:
1.) Keep Dungeon the way it is, show all the secret rules the game is based on.
2.) Change Dungeon to conform to the rules that were shown.
Both ways put players on even footing to win. Picking the second option is pretty telling.
Fight club existed because no one talked about fight club.
Folks, you can’t point out publicly how the game can be gamed and then be shocked when the casino (devs) change it to work back in their favor (the house.)
Gambling 101.
What is always up with the all or nothing mentality, or the “it’s an addiction” BS?
I can like something and can also dislike parts of it.
Just because I’m playing and enjoying a game (in general) doesn’t mean I’m addicted.
Not shocked. Just disappointed.
But yeah, we should have seen that coming
I love how this is worded like it’s positive, but its not at all. And saying all new changes won’t be implemented till early next year doesn’t make anything better. Everyone is doing dungeon now. Waiting till next year makes no sense.
Reads like an oxymoron.
Has any effort been made to make sure all RNG in the rest of the game is actually RNG? Or does it fall on the players to point out how your staff rigged the system and it’s not actual RNG before a change is made?
TL:DR…you used a two headed quarter until you were caught but in 2022 this isn’t illegal for a video game to do. The laws need to catch up to digital casinos like Gems of War has devolved.
I smoked for 20 years and thought “I enjoyed it” too. It was only after I stopped that I realized I was addicted.
@OminousGMan , @Kafka why wasn’t true RNG implemented from the start instead of a screwy algorithm that demonstrably made it so certain guessing patterns had a 0% chance of success?
How is that ethical, or supposed to foster any sort of trust in your product, when supposedly “fair” programming is only implemented when caught out by the community?
Another slap in the face as usual. You could fix the dungeon door patterns nearly right away, but it’s completely out of the realm of possibility that you lower the daily dungeon dragonite to 100 gems or make any meaningful change until “next year” right? How is it possible that your dev team is this lazy? It’s September and you’ve already known this whole dungeon revamp was problematic from a development standpoint for a month now, possibly even more.
How can you even justify “next year” for any relief for this system that’s making countless people not want to play the game anymore? Could you possibly be any more tone deaf?
Ha! We’re in the same boat. I didn’t actually think there were any patterns so colour me shocked when I actually read the topic yesterday where they were discussing this tool. I expected the Devs would react - but not this soon. Again, shocked.
To “protect” the game “economy”, even though we can’t trade anything, it’s all based on personal goals. Yea, I don’t get it either, but they did the same with with GaPs. Sucked the fun right out of it.
I guess that’s good? I should have read the community news and not crafted another egg this morning, because I got a 3rd dupe on 1 dragon. How fun it is to see that. I guess I’m just hoarding all dragonite for half a year to a year then.
Gets ingame mail. Feels very disappointed.
See talk on discord. Feel more disappointed.
See thread here. Feels… I just cba with this shit any more.
I didn’t expect the otherwise (seemingly) “not as fast working devs” to do anything about that whole matter of the pattern. You could’ve done so much better, just look at the first few postings in this thread. But you know that already and without any shame you don’t care at all. What doesn’t surprise me, is the kind of things that got fixed. Everything giving any slight advantage to the players.
And all this stress during so many beautiful and well deserved holidays.
Greed is awful. I’m surprised you didn’t add the dragonite gnome already. You could’ve praised yourself even more for everything you do so well. Plus you could’ve also already activated flashy popups for players to pay 24,99$ for 1 dragonite gnome bait and 200gems… I mean the advertisement would say “value 49,99$”…
Quick, you’re losing out on money every second!
What a clownfest you run…
This is honestly so unacceptable - quick to take away something that was helpful for the player base and a compromise to avoid duplicates only coming next year! Tell me this please? What about the fact, completely unrelated to the tool which I only discovered 2 days ago, that I’ve used a ton of gems to get daily dragonite and craft 5 Dragon Eggs and already have 3 duplicates? The compensation mailed doesn’t give me back the expensive spend. A tool, which was not a guarantee, that could have helped me stomach this, snatched away. Seriously not a good move to motivate your already dwindling player base.
Meanwhile, players from our guild family begin to quit GoW.
One was frustrated because they hadn’t received any dragonite since the 6.5 update. Another player got 4 same gem dragons out of 5 eggs.
Devs, is it so difficult to realise that games should make players happy, not depressed?
I think the real takeaway here is to never share any information about new features on this forum ever again. If a new feature or activity is introduced, we now have to discuss strategies off site for fear of it getting altered because of the community figuring something out.
A truly sad and PATHETIC state of affairs to be honest.
Unfortunately, that seems to be the way of things. This type of situation has happened more times than not.
While I can think selfishly about the implications that will have (I’m busy IRL and also play a lot of other games so I will miss the new tips and tricks), I also fear for the resentment that this will breed (I mean, more than there is already).
This is not a good road to go down but alas, here we are.
