I am trying to put a guid together on how team power is determined by pulling from the player base at large. I know that when i leveled up my team power when up by 3 points. I do not know if it was the level up or the mana mastery that caused it. Therefore i would like to ask those playing to do some testing and please report your findings back I will edit this post with the desired information. This data can also provide insight on the pvp algorithm as well on how it determines opponents.
Rarity effects team power by 25 points it seems between common and rare for 2 different level 5 troops.
Also from @Grundulum’s post in the known issues. Current rarity sets the rarity portion of the point value, not base rarity.
Good to know, also level effects team score as well, even if it does not change rarity.
Incoming Data Dump…
EDIT: Preliminary findings and card score formula.
Level increase: 35/level (only have UR data for this at the moment)
Rarity increase: 25/level
First Trait increase: 50
Second Trait increase: 150
Third Trait increase: 250
Card value formula: (level * 35) + (rarity above common*25) + ((number of traits)^2) * 50)
Note that the important part of these will be the difference between the numbers, not the numbers themselves.
Assumptions and notes:
- All cards of the same rarity with the same number of traits are valued the same. My initial testing seems to confirm this. If anyone finds a discrepancy in this idea, please say so.
- All teams are cards of equal value (ie same rarity and number of traits)
- I only have 1 common at the moment, and I only have 3 (Wraith)
- I unfortunately don’t have the resources at the moment to take any cards from 1 Trait to 2 or 3. So that’s why most numbers only go up to 1 Trait, unless I happened to have a card with 2 or 3 traits (and enough copies to test with)
- Numbers are for 1, 2, 3, and 4 cards in a team respectively.

I can add that I have all kingdoms at level 10. My legendaries are worth 3535 with no traits, 3585 with one, 3735 with two, and 3985 with three traits.
I assume these numbers represent 3 different common troops? Or?
Still editing sorry. That’s a team of 1, 2 and 3 common troops.
Oh, ok. I see.
More info: level 19 rare, ascended to legendary, three traits: 3985.
Level 19 rare, ascended to mythic, three traits: 4010.
I honestly expected a larger bump than that.
Edit: level 18 rare, ascended to legendary, three traits: 3950.
Level 20 rare, ascended to mythic, three traits: 4045.
Player level may factor into the team score as well, in which case only comparisons within a player’s numbers will be effective.
Yup, hence why my notes say that the interesting part should be the difference in the numbers, not the numbers themselves. I have a provisional formula up there now for how much a card is worth. If this is correct we then need to start figuring out what the kingdom bonuses etc count as
By the way, instead of Booleans, use (number of traits)^2 * 50.
Player level does not affect team levels but the masteries from them do. At least that is what i have gathered from leveling up kingdoms and leveling my player. If we can determine how much each variable is worth then we will unlock the secret to the devs team building and find what team they think will be the strongest.
It was mentioned somewhere that one-cast spells are worth more points than others. This is not the case.
Level 15 common ascended to legendary, one trait, one-shot spell: 3445.
Level 15 common ascended to legendary, two traits, normal spell: 3595.
Interesting note: Masteries don’t seem to directly affect team score. Or at least the Class bonus ones don’t. I changed from Sorcerer (the numbers listed in my post) with +20 to Purple, to Priest, +1 in Yellow, and a level 5 no trait Epic has the exact same score. (tried with both yellow and purple using troops just to be sure)
Done. Thanks!
Hmm… in leveling up my score actually went DOWN. Now it’s possible that after the class change that I needed to complete a battle before it updated the team score calculation (checking with the server or something). And I don’t currently have enough gems to do a class change at the moment. So will either have to wait for 23 hours.
… And as I was typing that and going back and forth between screens ingame it seems to have fixed itself O.o
Level 5 Epic - 0 Trait
1790
2040
2290
2540
So an increase of 4 points for the level/mastery. I’ll still try the class change again tomorrow and see if I can’t make sure that the class bonuses don’t affect anything.
Some more data: If we assume that each point of mastery is 4 points of team score then things break down a bit. Using my stats posted in my dump post I would have a score of 1752 just from masteries.
So this might suggest that Masteries themselves don’t affect the Team Score, but things that give you Mastery do. Eg levels kingdoms etc. So if we assume that each level of the player is worth 4 points for now, and the next thing would be to check kingdom stars/levels.
Using Epic level 5 - 0 Trait as a baseline (arbitrary decision) level 125*4 + 5E0T = 875 points, which is still well short of the 1786 that the team score gave.
EDIT: Leveled a kingdom from 0 star to silver star and my score dropped again… Possibly to the same value (1635 for reference) will see if it fixes it self in a minute. - Restarting the game seems to have sorted it. Though no change in Team Score from the increase in the Kingdom Star amount (at least to silver). Also tried leveling a kingdom from 5 to 6 and no change. I should have a kingdom to level from 9 to 10 tomorrow sometime, so will check then if it’s only level 10 that matters in leveling. For now, I need sleep.
EDIT2: This morning I checked my game on my phone, and my 5E0T is back down to 1635. Now I think this might be due to a bug on mobile (as I’ve posted in Support) where I don’t even have the 120 slot unlocked even though I’m 126. Will check my PC when I get home and do some more comparisons then.
I just leveled up, and my level 19, 2-traited legendary went from 3519 points to 3520 points. If team score takes masteries into account, it sure isn’t a straight 4 points per, forever.
That might put it at x number of points per % increase in mastery, which might be hard to measure since I’m guessing at higher levels that the increase is so low that it’s not visible except over multiple levels.
Needs moar testing!
Or input from someone with access to the code. Ahem
I have seen some really goofy values. I saw one team that consisted of one troop that had only about 15-20 total armor and health. It was not a legendary or mythic card and the value was over 4,000. It was In my middle difficulty offer. The ‘weak’ team was rated 2-3,000 if memory serves and consisted of 4 troops each one was stronger.
I’ve seen times in which all the ‘weak’ team offered was rated over 7,000 and indeed was a very strong team. The other two were rated higher. A later offering (sometimes the very next one), the strongest team was rated under 7,000 and was a weaker team than the ‘weak’ before.
