Changes in Community/Support

Hey Folks,

Sirrian here with some info for you about some changes coming to our Game Forums and our Game Support.

So… Sadly, after 7 years here, we’re saying goodbye to Kafka. We’re also sad that Bramble will be leaving us too.
We’re so very grateful for the amazing work they’ve done on our games and in the community.

As we’ve become part of 505 Games over the last 4 years, we’ve been integrating our teams, and that means that a lot of the game support and community will now transition from Infinity Plus 2 (in Australia) to 505 Games (in the USA/Europe). All the engineers, artists, designers, and producers are alive and well down here in Aus though, working on new content and features, I promise!

This means our support system will also be transitioning to the 505 support team. It should work mostly like before, but there may be a period of transition over the next few weeks where we have a slowdown in responses.
Once this has been completed, the process to submit a ticket should not be too dissimilar but will be done via FreshDesk instead of Zendesk.

We will also be welcoming Sokun from 505, who will now be handling the Community Forum!
Please give him a warm welcome. He’s been around on the 505 side for many years, so he knows his way around our games, but please be patient as he dives in a bit deeper here.

As for Jeto, they are still here working on Gems of War and Puzzle Quest 3, but their role has also transitioned! So you may not see her in the Gems of War forums as much.

That’s it. As I said above, we’re very sad to see Kafka and Bramble go. They will be missed, and we want to thank them for having always represented us so admirably. We certainly wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

And before anyone asks here (because I know you will), there’s a Guild Wars Update thread coming next week with some screenshots.

@Kafka and @Bramble
Thank you for all your work and efforts with GoW - particularly in communicating with us, the players, and championing our causes. I hope that you will be even more successful and appreciated where ever life takes you and that you are happy in all that you do.

It’s been a pleasure getting to know you both and you will be missed!!

Wishing you the very best, :hugs:  :hugs:

I am very sorry to see you both go.

Kafka, we’ve had several conversations over the years, and I’ve always appreciated your kindness and support. I’ve really enjoyed our interactions, and you will truly be missed. Wishing you all the best in your next adventure! <3

Thank you both for your GoW support over the years. I especially enjoyed getting the opportunity to work closely with you both on various Beta testing sessions.

I wish you all the best in your new adventures!

Between Sirrian stepping back. Salty leaving. And now Kafka leaving. What i read is Gems of War wants little to no involvement with the community of players?

I can’t even express how sad I am to see Kafka leaving.

I used to be so full of hopes after reading this thread. Small not quite end of year note from Kafka
But now…

Anyway, best luck @Kafka and @Bramble. You’ll be missed

Thanks @Kafka for all of your years of hard work on our behalf. You managed to do it with both grace and humor - wonderful qualities that will serve you well wherever life takes you next. @Bramble, thanks to you as well. Wishing you both all the best in your new endeavors.

And welcome @Sokun, you’ve got some big shoes to fill :grinning:

Thank you Kafka and Bramble for your service in the forums. I’m sure it hasn’t always been the easiest. Best of luck in your futures!

and on the player side of things:

I’m kind of worried everything Kafka has pushed for recently has been completely discarded in this transition, including things like Underspire Sentinel changes…

Well, the forum is pretty desolate most times. Unless there is something wrong with the game.

But I will miss @Kafka . You are the most no- nonsense, no bs (would like to say boss b, but doesn’t seem appropriate), GM we have had here. I hope you’ll get plenty of dog pics wherever you end up.

Thanks for the nice messages guys.

I will definitely miss working on Gems of War and in the community here - I would have really loved to have spent all my time on community.

I really enjoyed our indepth discussions about the game and secretly I enjoyed your salty GoW memes too

I’ve had a lot of fun hanging out in chat and in the Discord over the years, some of you have been here before I started working here and I’ve loved seeing you still around like me  I feel like some of us have our own in jokes cos it’s been so long.

I’ll give you this - I’ve worked with a tonne of communities over the years, including on actual war games and you guys are the most passionate, toughest crowd I have ever had the pleasure of working with haha :joy:

Keep your passion and your fire - but try not to make the team too crispy hey

Any new team members you see pop up here, let them into your circle. Give them some grace - this game is actually pretty complex, it took me a long time to understand it on the level you all do and I still have to ask you questions sometimes.

I’ve told them, if they’re not sure about anything you’re discussing to literally just tell you all and ask you. It can be daunting to admit you’re not sure about everything in the game you’re working on - but I think you will all help them like you helped me so they can be the best community liaison for you they can be. It’s also hard because you all have a million abbreviations for things to learn haha

Ultimately everyone at IP2 really cares about the game and the community and are as passionate as you are I promise - they’re not paying me any more to say these things so you know I’m telling the truth :joy:

All the best guys, murder some gnomes in my name
Disenchant 2 War Goats then open a Gem chest and tell us what you get :v:

Honestly, that sounds more like a threat. We’ve received enough broken content recently, like the Journey guild event that is still waiting to be made playable again. And now that you’ve retired your entire Customer Experience Team, it looks like we’ll be stuck with whatever lands next in our back yard, because there’s nobody left to reasonably process feedback.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, that means the notoriously faulty ban bot will now run fully automated, without anybody first checking? Because there isn’t anybody left who would be able to do that?

Does he have the time to dive in deeper? He’s responsible for several other games in parallel, right? So this will be mostly about showing presence every in a while, to make the forum rules are being followed?

Your information seems to be slightly out of date. Jeto hasn’t been working on Gems of War for years now, she only jumps in when there’s nobody else around for more than a week.

Sorry you’re leaving Kafka and Bramble, but wish you well in the future. If you have time to take the game up as a hobby, maybe we’ll see you on here on the player side of things some day.
