Alliance Ranks Shouldn't Be Reset Every Season

We are less than a month away from another pvp season, and it’s like, “here we go again…”

Just thinking about getting 800,000 VP again makes me just want to uninstall now and put myself out of my misery.:man_facepalming:

Since it is clear by now that immortals are of little impact to most of us, none of my guildies will be putting as much effort during PvP Season 2…

That may be good for the game activity though, since the early season PvP burnout seemed to result in “I’ll just do my dailies” mode thereafter.

Add to that the fact that many who bought the pass ended up with stashes of Silver Marks and Icons for their trouble, and Season 2 objectives/rewards/resets would need some serious revisiting in order to avoid a monetizing dip.

Things such as Not Resetting Alliance Ranks are a positive step towards avoiding the aforementioned burnout.

I’m gonna wait and see if they change anything for season 2, and what the next immortal they add is, but based on this season, and how burned out I’ve felt trying to complete most (not all, just the majority) of the challenges, I doubt I’ll be playing anywhere near as much PvP. It just feels like it’s not worth my time and I’m bored of the mode, having done so much of it.

I feel sorry for those who pushed so hard to get great general rank, only to see it wiped away by the season reset. I’d probably leave the game if that was me. The devs have no respect for our time.

if its anything like Journey, we’re going to have to wait 4 seasons for them to collect data just to see them reduce requirements by 10%.

It would have to be at least -20% for me to even consider going for the top alliance rank. GoW is not the only thing I do in my life.

What he said

Not a “shout” from a mod/dev on this in 22+ days - if anyone likes passing out feel free to hold your breath that any changes are made before next Season (I’ll be the happiest to be wrong btw)

@Jeto one last week of shouting please.

Not that it shouldn’t be changed, but I’m not too bothered by missing out on Alliance chat… What’s the point of it? Purple wins every day, there’s no planning or strategy that occurs. I guess it’s a fine spot for sharing teams, but that’s about it.

Alliances as a whole were broken on launch (and prior to launch, in the Beta). It is a redundant system until the Alliances are somehow evened out.

Strategy went first with ‘join the purple’ ad inside the community. Now deaf devs looking not even looking at it anymore.

Also coolest banner & name by far

I joined one of the losing teams, for that sweet +%Stats every day  Sure, you lose gold marks but much easier battles.

I’m definitely putting less effort into season 2.
I bought the pass for season 1 novelty, but silver marks suck as a reward so no dice on season 2 pass.

If the developers would have just made burning chests drop 10 (50%), 20 (30%), or 50 (20%) immortal tokens, it would have been so much better.

If you polled the player base, I bet the vast majority would agree that removing pvp icons and marks would make burning chests MUCH more rewarding instead of this random loot box garbage.:wastebasket:

Plenty of time to implement the most basic of feedbacks about Resetting Alliance Ranks & adjusting Burning Chests Drops, and yet here we are…

At least for Silver marks it’s because they’ve come up with a reason to keep them.

A new Seasonal Legendary has appeared in the PvP Shop. It requires 150,000 VP for the season to unlock, and can be purchased for 1,500 Silver Marks. Only 6 copies can be purchased per Season. Once the campaign ends, this mythic will only be able to be crafted in the Soulforge via the weekly rotation of Mythics

They can be farmed: there’s no need to dilute chest drops with it, especially if IP2 expects people to pay actual money to open chests.

Burning chests just don’t make sense.

Don’t they realize they would actually earn more money if immortal tokens were the only resource we could get from burning chests?

It’s like they were hoping people would be confused and frustrated, so they would buy more burning marks.

Guess what. The Gems of War community isn’t that stupid.
