Itā€™s the second time he lie to our hero, i expect the next time our hero will not be fooled by his talk and probably stop him. Unless this is exactly what Raven planned all along and our hero is tricked into doing what what he needed. :wink:

Stormheim quest is also funny, Keghammerā€™s ā€œnear death experienceā€, the giants ridiculous ambush, and the plan to stop the war were all funny.

Inasmuch as I care about kingdom quest lines, I really hope this happens.

I like him. I use him in last and donā€™t worry about giving mana too much, just cast him when the teamā€™s full. Then Worldbreaker and thatā€™s famine or psion or infernus dead. Cool beans.

On one side Iā€™m grateful to have a red troop that can cleanse. But on the other, I canā€™t help but feel annoyed by the trait doing half of what the cast does though. I canā€™t think of any other troop that has a similar issue. Heā€™s not OP, and heā€™s not UP. Heā€™s gonna end up more like Stonehammerā€¦ Great thought, poor execution.

I had to, iā€™m happy, this is the first mythic iā€™ve ever gotten during its exclusive week. And not for lack of trying, i pretty much bankrupt myself of gems going for a couple, after i blew all my saved keys. He was rather cheap, 36 glory and second set of 20 gem keys there he is. So now my son is my official good luck charm. He wanted to try standing next to me with his hand on my shoulder cuz just being in the room didnā€™t get results before. Heā€™s 6, it was cute, and i think more excited than me. He always loves when i get new cards though. Ok ramble over, now i can read the thread in its entirety when i finish my gw and say something constructive :slight_smile:

Second impression: Itā€™s better than Gargantaur, but it doesnā€™t do enough (for me) to use long term. I may try to find a use for it in a Defense deck and call it a day.

With exploders and a Bard, I was averaging around 60-70 damage. Not that great. It feeds 5 mana to others which I dont feel is the sweet spot for its mana cost. Im sure itā€™d work better with cheaper mana costing troops, but then Vooooo doesnā€™t do enough damage either.

I think what turned me off the most is that one of my troops was frozen. I grabbed a 4 match of blue that also gave me a 3 match of yellow to cleanse. I still gave the turn back to the AI.

Maybe if Voooooooooo counted its own mana as part of its damage calculation during the cast, it would feel a lot better. (not auto assume full mana, in case they ever release a troop that can prematurely activate an allyā€™s skill without having full mana). I guess one could argue thatā€™s why the spell has a base damage and then boosted by other allies, but that still seems soā€¦ cheap?

I donā€™t hate it. I just want to like Voice more.

yeah, the text boosted by all allies mana is very misleading since his own mana is not counted because 0 at the moment of casting. boosted by all other allies mana is more fitting.

also to be the text police:

please standardize the grammar. doesnā€™t matter if they are wrong, at least standardize for easier search. we have ā€œall allies manaā€, ā€œall ally manaā€, ā€œall other alliesā€™ magicā€.

Heā€™s going to be the first mythic for a bunch of people, and heā€™d have his uses in that situation. Heā€™d be a very solid support troop, but not the game-changer that some of the stronger mythics might be.

If heā€™s your 10th mythic, heā€™ll probably be down at the end of the bench wondering if heā€™ll ever get into the game.

Got the mythic with a mere 600 glory keys, and I donā€™t want to risk pulling another. Still no Sol-Zara.

Preliminary thoughts:

Iā€™m not still seeing his utility versus any status other than Silence really, and I hope this troop existing doesnā€™t mean an increased prevalence of Silence. Most others can just be brute forced, straight up ignored, or he wonā€™t have favorable conditions to be able to cleanse (eg., after getting frozen by a troll/kraken/mab team, the board will be flooded with blue and green gems, leaving you no mana to take to cast, or yellows to trigger his trait; Faerie Fire is almost always accompanied by an extra turn and often immediate damage, etc.).

Heres the thing - he fully overlaps Infernus, who is just going to be better in 99% of the situations since he does much more damage, who generally deals lethal damage quicker and has a chance to kill entire teams without dropping the turn with at least a slim chance, and dead troops donā€™t fight back, so Infernus sets the power curve. Even without taking this into account, hes a bit on the weak side, but has room to grow if fully disabling status counterplay (where yellow gems are on the board) becomes more necessary. Which, again, I hope it doesnā€™t, especially for the sake of everyone that didnā€™t pull him (eg. never want to see those Death Mark and Silence match traits, ever). But for anything other than Silence and/or specifically needing his colors for whatever reason, Mercy and Apothecary have much better mana and turn economy as cleansers, at the cost of (not all that much) damage and can better support an appropriate team. VoO gives less support to even an appropriate team, and seeing as Iā€™d probably rather be left with solo Apothecary/Mercy than solo VoO, needs more support from them as well, which also doesnā€™t bode well for trying to build around him.

tl;dr: He doesnā€™t so much fit well with teams, but against certain teamsā€¦ the kind of teams that donā€™t ever get used, and the kind of things we really donā€™t want to be the bulk of what we are fighting. Another mythic where the problem is not necessarily with the design of the troop itself (though he is below the power curve), but the the fact 99+% of non-trivial content is player generated combined with the top heavy nature of the game. While he has more utility out of the box than something like Gargantaur, we still donā€™t have the kind of content where he can shine.

I havenā€™t pulled a Mythic in ages, I think I missed the last 8-10 mythics.

At the start of the week I threw all my limited amount of keys at chest in order to open as many different troops from the new kingdom.

So today I was a wee bit miffed that a mythic was released.

I only had 12 gems keys, and Voice of Orpheus was among them :open_mouth:

So now another 8-10 months without mythics :smile:

With the increasing plague of passive-application of Status effect (Mab, Khorvash, Titania, Infernus, Sylva, etcā€¦) it makes sense to get a passive cleanser.

The spell just needs a tweak.
