To be honest, I think the problem with today’s world is not love. Most people see love as a very personal feeling, and give it to those closest to them. While it may not always convey intimacy, it still sets a person’s world into different categories that assist one into deciding what is most important to them.
However, if the problem is not people loving one another, what is it? In my opinion, the problem is tolerance. It seems like millions of people have no room in their “own little world” for others with different viewpoints. Perhaps, if every person took a step back from certain confrontations and just took a breath, would the world be a better place? I am certainly not saying
“turn the other cheek”
Just
“Live, and let live”.
Sadly, fear of non-tolerance is likely what makes some people not speak up, not share themselves, etc… And that is a sad thing. For it is possible that this world may be missing out on something BIG.
