I think there might be a terminology mix up here. Jewels refers to these:
Sapphire (Blue)
Emerald (Green)
Ruby (Red)
Topaz (Yellow)
Amethyst (Purple)
Garnet (Brown)
Summoning Stones refers to these, which are only craftable:
