What should be done with Dragon's Eye?

Well this is me after one turn … again …

Only Duststorm on either team is their hero having the talent for it. So it started at 8 on my turn, 7 on theirs, 6 on mine now. They got a lot done.

Maybe if transformations were temporary or something … seems like a bitch to code though.

Why do anything with it? It’s supposed to be a strong weapon since it’s a mythic weapon. Just kill the hero first and make sure all your dragons are leveled up.

Could also skip the Baby Dragon entirely and transform into a random dragon on cast. If not a charged Baby Dragon.

I do not mess with them in PVP. The battles take too long so if I see them I do a 2T battle or even a 1T battle. These teams are a self Nerf by players for whatever reason they want to make it take you longer to do battles. I skip them for that reason. If everyone else that is complaining about them would do same they would go away. These people want to frustrate you into retreating and getting a Def win which is probably over half the wins they get. I say just skip them and give these people no battles and they will change their DEF to something else. Easy peasy.

De victory’s are the ones that give most satisfaction when it’s messy, like that one for example:

Even tho DE hero was gonna die anyway seen was at like 20 hp and no barrier to add more fun it got eaten by the doomclaw created by his fellow tpk (and about that notice how the dragon made by DE got traits while doomclaw got nothing despite i got him traited and all).

But there’s another thing i find “funny” other than killing DE holders with their own creations, the fact that before thee was so much QQ about firebombs teams (i used it for a while too) being lame, too easy, a joke, whatever, now that thse are almost gone and ppls gotta fight real defenses here come the QQ about “it’s too hard, nerf, remove it from game, etc etc”.

Yes yes, now it’s DE turn but pretty sure IF it became crap and worthless and ppls will stop using it there will be the a new target after 1 hour (prolly jar, or doom weapons or whatever).

So far only decent suggestions about “nerfing” it imo are the removing of gem destruction (no more multicast in 1 turn) or the “transform into fillled baby/random dragon directly” (that allow you to retaliate better than filling the baby to have it trasformed again at soon full ;P), the filled baby dragon tho can be a prob for those using it in delve, not sure how much but think a lvl 250 baby dragon hurt.

But ppls gotta get that the times of easy peasy wins in pvp is gone, even without DE there’s TONS of defs strong/annoying the same.

Since its not a problem i use it as my Defenss team.

I vote that it be kept the same, but disallowed from PVP defense teams. I can’t understand why people would put this on defense. It’s not unbeatable, but it is entirely NON-FUN to play against.

It is not hard to beat but very time consuming. I don’t have the time for 5 minute battles like people that do not work for a living. I do not care about DEF wins nonsense so I gave firebombs so people can get 4 event points quickly and move to next battle. I do not self Nerf because I have something between the ears.

After mulling it over in my head for a while, I’ve settled on ‘do nothing’ option.

While I understand that people can get frustrated and infuriated (at times happened to me as well), I don’t see reasonable grounds for nerfing.
Yes, this weapon can become quite a pain in the donkey in GW when going monocolour - I’ve lost wars against it, I’ve won long wars against it, I’ve won easily against it - it is always my conscious choice to go monocolour and the risk I’m willing to take. I make the decision knowing the stakes and I pay the price.
In general PvP there are teams with reasonable win rate, thus - no real problem. Again, I’ve lost fast, I’ve won fast, I’ve lost slow, I’ve won slow…in the end it’s first and foremost a matter of perspective - I see Dragon’s Eye and I know what I might expect, it might make my mildly annoyed but never to the point I’d want to throw my gear against the wall.

If anything must be looked at and tweaked it should be, in my opinion, mana generating aspect - situations when two or three of your troops become Baby dragons in a single turn are the worst part of the weapon. Other than that - leave it alone.

Other.

No clue how having a real defense is a self nerf in the world of those who got stuff in middle of the ears, unless you mean less revenges, like i care to have a revenge as a 1 trophy battle that guess what? give basically same glory of a 3 trophy without it and next to nothing points (so would take 50 matches instead of 19 to get to rank 1, guess x you that’s “saving time”).

Right now i got yao and guess what, not many retaliate either (actually was getting more defs with DE), guess also being wiped to turn 1 of ai is too much time consuming :3.

The votes does all the talking.

Not really Eika…
35% said leave it as it is while 65% voted it needs some sort of adjustment.

Well, your opinion is valid, so is mine. Leave it as it is has most votes out of all of the voting options.

Opinion validation is a different matter in this case so please don’t take this personally.

If you ask my frank opinion i have a neutral stance on this weapon but if there was any nerf to take place i presented what i thought was sensible.

If the poll was conducted in a 2 way vote,

• Leave it as it is
• Make adjustments

There are more people saying Dragon Eye needs some work around.

This is not a poll with a 2 way vote tho. But your point is still valid because of the thing written below.

If the Devs only could pick one vote option and went with the option that had most of the votes, we would get no change. But if they combined all or some of the make adjustments voting options, then they probably would look into a fix. It is still no guarantee that they will, based on these votes or not.

In another perspective if they are going ahead and go with an option from the vote except from the “do nothing”, they are looking at it as a good idea for a fix, since the “do nothing” vote option had more votes. However they might combine several of the make adjustments vote options in one fix which makes your point valid.

66% of people want SOMETHING done to reign in Dragon Eye’s broken balance, and 34% want it to be left the same, but because people are not in agreement over what would fix the problem best, you claim it’s “going with what the people want” to leave it broken? Seems like you don’t care what people think and are more concerned with your personal opinion winning.

I never use this weapon anymore and the weapon does not annoy me in the PvP, so you are totally right, I dont care if there will come a fix or not. :grinning:

I decided when I started this thread that I wouldn’t comment until there were a good number of votes and since there’s over 100, this seems a good time to weigh in.

Firstly I deliberately set this up with a whole range of options rather than just Nerf/ Don’t Nerf, so the fact that Don’t Nerf got the most votes is less relevant than the fact that 2/3rds of people want some sort of nerf, even though they may not agree on exactly what it should be.

Secondly it makes it clear that a lot of people aren’t happy with the way Dragon’s Eye works and, as I pointed out in the OP, not everyone is an End Gamer who has enough powerful Troops and Weapons and options to be able to deal with it (try taking on a DE team with only Legendary troops…)

Thirdly, even if you do have powerful Mythics, fighting a DE team can turn into a ridiculously long and tedious grind, especially when, again as mentioned, you finally get a Baby Dragon to upgrade, you get enough mana to cast the new spell and BAM you’re slammed back to square one.

Remember this game is supposed to be FUN! Yes, ok, you’re going to lose a few games, fine, I have no problems with that, but when I’m spending five minutes on a battle, even if I eventually manage to win it, it makes me wonder what the hell I am doing.

Something I learned a long time ago in business is that pi$$ing off your customers doesn’t make them want to come back…

So, there’s been a lot of discussion, a lot of suggestions and there’s a definite desire for something to be done about Dragon’s Eye.

I’ll leave the poll and the thread open for the moment, but I strongly urge the Devs to take note of this and consider what is going to be best for the game.

Thanks to everyone who voted and commented.

Remove the mana generating aspect of it entirely.

  • Easy to do, will NEVER compromise the legendary ’ legacy code’ lol

  • A single cast isn’t the end of the world, the weapon is problematic because it can go in infinite loops which combined with the stealthy hero and RIDICULOUS summoning talents (Bandits cough cough…50% chance rotfl) can severely damage one’s sanity.

  • Remains fully operational in Delves, harder to use - yes but the Devs intended it to be a challenge, no?

  • And for the love of God…No! Please, no more randomness in Gems of War!!!
A little would’ve been fine so we don’t bore to death, but there is a LITTLE more than a little already.
The game barely has anything to do with a match 3 genre at this point and its leaning more and more towards a luckfest that ocassionally incorporates some gem matching…
Therefore I beg of you, no more 'will or will NOT happen ’ features in the game.
