Update 8.9 Patch Notes

While I completely agree that bugs are the highest priority, and hope you manage to get them fixed soon, I can’t help but point out that all of these are bugs created by recent patches, that were immediately identifiable and should have been noticed before the patches were put out, and fixed before they were pushed into games. There was no reason for them to have been missed, as far as I can see (admittedly as an outsider).
The time being spent now trying to undo the damage caused by those patches, could have been spent before release, and the game would have been better for it.
Players have been complaining about this for ages, how broken updates get pushed onto us and then we have to wait ages for them to get unbroken (we’re still waiting for many of them to get some attention, seriously).

I appreciate some of the stuff this patch improved, but there was nothing that couldn’t have waited a little longer, and we could have got a patch that actually fixed the stuff it claimed to have fixed, and not added almost as many bugs as it claimed to have fixed.
I’m not blaming you, just hoping this gets passed on as feedback. Players are sick of broken patches and bugs being added that never get fixed. So, I’m glad you’re saying bug-fixing is high priority, and hope that means we’ll actually get fixes that work and don’t make more problems.

Can’t believe it took me this long to realise, but it’s been annoying me how slow the upgrade menu is, and I just twigged that you added (yet another) pointless animation to the menu. So, now, when entering the menu, it delays input for like 3/4 of a second, while three buttons bulge and return to normal. This serves no purpose, other than slowing players down, and it doesn’t even look interesting or anything. Why this design team thinks everything has to be slow and annoying, with useless animations, is utterly bewildering. Just stop it. Please.

Also, the boost menu is bugged, and loads very slow (as do several new menus, especially GW). Hitting the button multiple times during this load causes it to open multiple times, and then you have to hit the cancel button multiple times to close them all.
And the roster screen is showing wrong values. We have more players who bought boosts there than we have boosts in the boost menu. So, something is messed up. Glad it’s not crashing and we can see it, cus it’s better than not having it, but not if the numbers are wrong. Hope the points totals add up right, or people will get the wrong ranks, and we’ll have players complaining about not getting their trophy for Paragon.

If players just let things go. 90% of the problems in this game would never get fixed or reversed. Devs mostly have no idea anything is wrong until we bring it up in here and the game would be an entire mess by now. I’m glad 333DRAGON is making a big deal about it, because he is the first person jeto actually replied to about it. Sometimes that just what you have to do to get your point across.

Considering that the achievement’s progress is currently at 0/5, I conclude that only 2 people from the guild will be able to obtain this achievement within a year.

I didn’t mean to imply that they shouldn’t voice their criticism. They should, and I’m glad lots of people are; I agree that it’s a poorly thought out trophy and hope the devs change it. I just felt that 333Dragon was a bit frothed up about it and wanted to offer my 2cents as someone who not that long ago would’ve been similarly frothed up about it :sweat_smile:

Stop adding stupid animations and more clicks than necessary to level up troops. If you press a during the level up animation it crashes every time. I try to not do it but muscle memory gets me the majority of the time. Its annoying

What’s up with the seemingly completely random ranking in the guild wars roster. It has nothing to do with the results in the previous guild war. It’s great for the person getting a free paragon of war trophy, not so great for the person who actually had the most points.

it doesn’t even tell me the name of the needed traitstone, so I need a long search to identify it then find where to get it, Very annoying

I guess the achievement situation turned out better than it could have gone, but an achievement for resetting Guild tenure just seems so dumb.

I got the achievement by being the first to play and checking the roster. Didn’t need to reset my tenure :slight_smile:

It didn’t work for the second player to go though, I was in the top champion position yesterday and it put him below me. If we’d gone from the bottom up more of us could have got the achievement.

Looks like it’s sorting the list by most recently played, rather than score (I’m on Xbox). Should be an easy achievement for everyone who does their GW battles.

Edit: Another member played and wasn’t sorted to top, so it’s not sorting by most recently played as it seemed before.

Yes the paragon trophy seems to cycle, though it remained a long time on the same player. I missed it of course. Score seems irrelevant.

Now, when you, developers, finally know this word, remove elementalist class from defensive teams. Especially when we have attack restrictions like this time.

The whole GW is now the same: who has 4-5 matches from the start - will be the winner. I am not even talking about 2-3 same troops in defensive setups (takshakas, explosive goblins and so on)… Oh no, I AM talking.. It’s so sad all these talks are useless…

This isn’t completely true, or at least not yet. I know what the scores for some of my guild members were last GW, and the initial sorting this GW was not in order of the points they scored last time (just comparing the known values).

There is one person I know did slightly better than me overall last time (since we compared daily), and they are in the Soldier tier while I’m at the top of the Champion tier.
The person placed in the paragon position did not show me their scores last time, but they are someone that would typically struggle to get a good score, so it seems unlikely they had the best. A couple people that did show me their scores are in the soldier tier despite having very good scores (it would be mathematically impossible for 16 people to have done better based on our guild totals). So it does not seem to be working quite as stated right now, at least this first time we’re able to see the full roster.

I guess we’ll see what it looks like next time when we have the full receipts of where everyone placed this war..

It just didn’t work for this first month, probably, because the screen is new. People who weren’t in guilds last month are high in the rankings, apparently at random. Hopefully it’ll be sorted out next month when the data is properly tracked.
