After conquering (seemingly) all Underworld factions the Hero traveled forth only to find out that everything was just the First Level of much bigger and deeper true vast Underworld. The Hero delved one level deeper seeking new adventures that definitely will be much harder that anything before…
After finishing all Underworld factions, the player receives this global bonuses:
+4 Attack
+9 Life
+8 Armor
+2 Magic
Also the player gets daily +2850 gold (okay … sort of) and +72 random ingots (totally useless).
In terms of advancing in the game that’s it, full stop. Nothing to achieve anymore. “The Deep Delver” tasks don’t really count.
The suggestion - The Underworld New Game + mode
The player is given the option to reset Underworld and start it from the very beginning:
The player keeps all global bonuses from the previous level
The player keeps all the Kingdoms progression (power levels)
The Underworld Level increases by 1
All Factions progress resets
All Factions become X% stronger (10-15% or whatever)
Delve treasure value also increases
More valuable things can be included to loot (instead of ingots)
The player advances in Underworld exactly the same way as before
After finishing the Underworld Level 2 the player receives the second set of global bonuses in addition to the first one and is given the option to delve one level deeper.
(The idea of levels was already introduced (in the very basic form) in the Dungeons.)
Why do people level up their kingdoms, when you get similar bonuses just for raising a troop from level 1 to level 20, and that just costs some souls, which are way easier to get than books of deeds???
You do know it’s not one or the other, right? I see this argument by several people on the forum, so I’m not just calling you out. But, the bonuses gained from Astral Spire are on top of all the other bonuses in the game. They don’t somehow invalidate anything else. In order to complete the highest level of various events, you need your troops to be as powerful as possible, and that means getting bonuses from lots of places. Adding one more place you can get bonuses just increases the total you can get. It doesn’t take anything away.
I think the idea of ascending the underworld and doing it all again would get a mixed reaction from players. It takes a long time to get through the pure faction runs for every kingdom, and having to restart it, especially multiple times, would put a lot of players off. But some people would love being able to challenge themselves and climb that mountain again, so to speak.
I think the rewards would have to be much better, to justify it. Firstly, we should get more delve attempts per day. We can buy extra delve attempts, so maybe give one free delve and make buying delve offers (3 extra delves) 10% cheaper for each ascension in the underworld. That way, each time you reset the underworld, you can finish it faster.
Secondly, let us use delve weapons and our heroes in pure faction delves, after doing the reset. We already finished a pure faction run with those troops at the highest level, we shouldn’t need to redo it every time.
Thirdly, give better stat boosts per ascension. Maybe the same as the previous total, but one extra for each stat, per ascension. So 5 attack for the second level, 6 attack for the third level, etc.
Fourthly, like you say, give us better unlocks for completions. Ingots are great early on, but useless later. Even random keys or something would be better than more random ingots. But anything better would be good. (A random mark each day, for reaching a certain level, would be great, with a high chance for a silver mark, a small chance for a gold mark and a tiny chance for a burning mark.)
Lastly, they need to redo the delve selection menu as part of the update. We should be able to select any delve level, once unlocked, not only the max level and level 20. There’s some other quality of life stuff they could do, too, as part of an overhaul. But the system could really do with an update.
Assuming they achieve all that, this would be a really good update to a mode than becomes stale and easily overlooked, later in the game.
Some improvements would be nice. I finished all delves years ago but still play them every day as long as new troops are being added. So a few more rewards or stats or something like that would be very nice.
