AND its only Tuesday! You lucky fish
I got a red book this week too, enabling tier V team bonus for wild Plains just in time for guild wars. It had seemed an impossible task when wild Plains was announced as the restriction. Very happy ![]()
Congratulations, it always feels especially good, doesn’t it?
Thanks, it does. I maxed out dark stone too, thanks to the campaign books.
I got 100 Dragonite from two chest rewards last week.
That’s great, I got 2 x 50. ![]()
I wish Underspire was released this way. I had played it diligently every single week since launch, beating all 6 bosses without fail. I even defended its rewards and the time investment needed.
The slog to complete the Sentinel set (still missing 1) just became too much and I stopped a few weeks before this patch was released. I find I have 0 motivation to start up again, even after seeing all these improvements. Maybe it’s because there was no immediate improvement to getting Sentinels, or it’s just a reflection of my general feelings towards GoW nowadays.
Decent update. Reward pool from these treasure rooms are exactly what the sentinel rooms should have been on release, plus with them not being limited to deadends I now feel like having some reason to use all my freebie torches. Before this update I’d reach either the second or third dragon, clear whatever Sentinels I detected and quit, usually with a number of torches remaining.
Now, if only I could get more books intead of trinkets. ![]()
I know that this forum seems to be a gathering place of the world’s ultimate Complainers but for me, this update of Underspire is absolutely SUPERB! WOW!!
I know I’ve been critical of a lot of things about this game over the last few years, and those criticisms remain, but when it comes to this new addition to Underspire, the updates are absolutely IMPRESSIVE! This Underspire game is so much better with all the new rewards, treasure rooms, and other specialty rooms. I’m actually getting Deed Books (even if not always the color I want right away) and other worthy resources from some of them.
I’ve complained about a lot of things the devs have done (and haven’t) but when it comes to the reworkings of Underspire, I have nothing but pure and utter praise for what they’ve done and this gets an absolute thumbs up for me. I’ve even been on rare occasions, able to ‘skip’ some rooms and reach the fifth (gold) boss room en route to the final boss room and get silver and Gold Glory Orbs!
The Underspire to me, is now so much more worthy of playing, even if I rarely get beyond the second or third boss rooms just on these ‘special’ rooms alone. Well done devs!
How many of the daily packs do I have to buy for gems to be able to search through about 90 % of the rooms? 2 of the daily packs (150 gems) each day? Someone surely has experimented with the perfect number.
1 torch pack per day = boss room 4 (with goodluck by friday, bad luck by Sunday, use extra torches for exploring.
2 torch packs per day = diamondhands by Sunday (goodluck means you have it by Saturday with spare torches)
I buy as many torches as I need to get through to the next section each day, leaving the sentinel battles til I’ve defeated diamantina. Usually 2 packs, sometimes 3. Then you finish on Saturday (sometimes Friday) so you can spend Sunday doing the sentinel battles and exploring a bit.
Though with the new underspire I now clear everything, so i buy 3 packs of torches 2-3 times a week
Before the “refresh”, my usual rule-of-thumb was to buy 50 + 100 on Monday through Saturday and then evaluate from there. Sometimes, if I felt I was falling behind, I’d buy a third pack on Thursday or Friday. With my goal under that paradigm being to complete all the dragons.
Now, with the refresh and the incentives to check every single room? I’m still buying 50 + 100 on Monday through Wednesday. I move to 50 + 100 + 150 on Thursday and Friday and often Saturday as well. (Sometimes only 50 + 100 on one of those three days.) And that leaves me to buy torches on Sunday only as needed to finish up.
Because I’m finding a little more variance insofar as how many torches I receive from various rooms now that there are more that can potentially drop them. Am I finding a Powder Room, and if so, how many torches do I get there? How many show up from Sentinel rooms, or from the other new content? I’ve had weeks where the number was pretty healthy, and I’ve had weeks where the number was very meager. And I’ve had one week where the Powder Room didn’t appear at all.
Thanks for the broad help folks. I was wondering does each level have a minimum and maximum of Sentinels rooms that can be found?
Haven’t experimented, but I seem to remember someone saying they fully explore the underspire every week, and they said there was a maximum amount per section. I think it was 3 (might have been 5, but I’m pretty sure it was 3), but I don’t remember if there was a minimum.
I seem to remember them saying there’s usually 2-3.
No more than three within any single Underspire “region”, i.e., the rooms between two “gates”. Which means a “cap” of 18 for the entire Underspire, but even in the old days when it was Sentinels or nothing that number seemed to top out somewhere roughly around a dozen per week.
but what is the minimum for each the levels? May it be 0 and up to 3 as max?
Definitely can find 0 in an area, max is 3
Found (and, after multiple attempts, defeated) my first Underspire Diamantina this week.
There was a secret passage from midway zone 1(!) to midway zone 4.
