Just bring along any weapon/troop that mass creates Gems (e.g. “Create 6 A and B gems for each Kingdom ally”) and they will overwrite Trap gems on the board pretty quick.
On the other end, DO NOT bring along a Kingdom Summon weapon (e.g. “Explode gems, grant status effect, summon a troop”).
I’m one of those people who almost always has my Hero using an exploder/summoner weapon for mana generation. Because that’s the role I normally task my Hero to fill. Most kingdoms have a couple of heavy hitters, and most kingdoms also have a suitable tank (or three) that I can slide into the first slot to handle the skull game.
Admittedly, the trap gems can be a nuisance. Depending on which status effect triggers, they can slow me down to some extent. (Unless my exploder/summoner weapon triggers Bless, in which case “who cares”?)
There are plenty of things in this game that need real fixing. This isn’t one of those, not to me.
To the people saying “Herr derrrr skill issue git gud” -shut up. Ive been playing this game since 2017. I know how to play.
I know how to bypass them. i know to stuff my team with impervious troops and not explode gems. Ive been using doomed cauldron. I didnt say I couldn’t beat them. I completed spire this week with no losses. But i can see what a problem they will be when we get a bad faction thats more vulnerable to status effects. They are not enjoyable to deal with is my issue. I dont need “extra challenge” in a mode like underspire
This week we have vash’dagon and zuul, two great impervious troops. on weeks where we get a bad faction-im just going to skip spire and not deal with the annoyance.
Just to prove it. Here’s the completed spire. So shove your skill issue insults where the sun dont shine
You will when we have a useless faction week on spire. Right now they’re an annoyance because you have troops they don’t bother. Wait till a week with no good impervious troops or cleansers
I found the revealer (cant remember its name) in zone 1, it opened an area showing a boss room and some dead ends with nothing.
Found the teleporter in zone 2 before even finding the gate, teleported me to zone 5 and because of the revealed area I knew where gate 6 was + 2 dead ends.
Long story short killed diamondhands on Wednesday!
Has the difficulty changed? Usually I don’t lose a single match in Underspire. If I’m unlucky, maybe 2 or 3 a year. And today I lost 3 in a row and 4 out of 5 while my teams got slaughtered. Even changed troops, but it got worse. All of them are fully gold medaled and I’m close to level 2000 with a team score between 21K and 22K.
I haven’t seen what I would interpret as a change in difficulty, even with the abundance of Trap Rooms that didn’t exist previously and the added annoyance of negative status effects on my team.
But those Treasure Rooms and Trap Rooms are dropping enough trinkets that I can spend them more freely if I wish to. So I have thrown them out there for dragon battles just to simplify things for myself, because they can make a difference.
Dragon Battles usually have been a matter of 2-3 turns for me. Easy wins. Only ever used trinkets on Diamantina, but not always.
On top, after 4 hoard mimic battles, 4 of my troops got devoured after 1 turn from HM. Only the 5th turn/battle I managed to survive. But still won all of those battles.
The first few floors even seems easier than usual, but later on I got mauled everywhere. With 2 troops being killed before I could even fill up my first troop (50% mana start and enchant all). So I was wandering. This might be the 1st US every that I struggle with and I fully complete it every week since the beginning.
Edit: talking about Sentinel rooms and regular rooms as well, not only trap or treasure
I don’t think I’d lost a battle in underspire until last week (not flexing, just putting it out there), when I lost a lantern battle against diamontina (which was annoying) and nearly lost a couple of battles against traps. Feels like it might be harder, but could just be bad RNG in my case. It’s hard to tell.
Unless anyone had any data, I’d say keep an eye on it and see if it was just this week, maybe?
After logging in again a few hours later, I tried the same battles again. Couldn’t win them earlier, couldn’t even take out a single opponent. This time I won all of them without even getting hit more than once. Totally different game without any changes on my side. Sooo …
I feel like its gonna be really annoying when we have bad factions. Kark isnt a really bad faction
Vash’dagon id say is better than zuul BTW. Zuul can cause issues high level by littering board wirh skulls. Vash is slow but very safe. I just use zuul to pop diamantina
