Friends in these Forums
Blame it all on PQ,
I downloaded you,
and started this obsessive trend.

I first played solo,
then what do you know,
I joined a guild and made some friends.

Now I didn’t find
this forum online
til I was already years in.

First I just read,
but then I started a thread,
now I’ll never log off again!

Chorus:
Cause I got friends in these forums,
where we always argue but we use decorum,
So Sirrian, won’t have to ban.

Well I don’t agree with this threads quorum,
I could start a riot, but I’ll just ignore ‘em
Cause I got friends in these forums

DonBoba’s my boss,
Krudler’s a horse,
and HK’s a wolf that loves memes.

Ash’s name is too long,
Kanevan writes cool songs,
and whiskeyjack’s name used to be 4 D’s

Makosipper’s green eyes
are filled with surprise
as I try to name everybody

Lyya’s content queen,
Tacet is King of the Stream,
and Ogunther’s a dumb talking tree!

Are you the guy on the video? I had a totally different image of you in my head after listening to your voice. I thought you were like 20 yo tops. What’s the secret to keeping such a smooth voice in good shape?

For better or worse: that is me.

Well, two of the quickest go to factors of keeping my voice healthy are:

  1. I rarely drink alcohol and
  2. I have never smoked anything.

Both of those vices are the most common factors in the degradation of the average joe’s vocal apparatus. Beyond that it comes down to an understanding of how the voice works and making sure to never sing in a harmful way that causes damage to your vocal folds (formerly known as chords).

One of the things I learned very early in my singing career that changed my approach was a coach explaining to me that when you go out and party and scream at a concert and wake up the next day with your voice hoarse, that is because the screaming forced your folds to rub together so quickly that they began to bleed. When the body is damaged, it sends blood to heal the wound and the area around the wound swells. When your vocal folds swell, they can’t vibrate and that leads to… a hoarse voice.

The thought of swollen, bloody chords in my throat led me to take special care.

I personally wouldn’t go back to being “20 yo tops” if I could choose to do so, so I’d say it’s for the best hehe
