i try a new team at least once a week. i try to base at least 3 of the troops on the event kingdom each week. i hope if you run into me, you like it
I’m totally aware of what you wrote, and if you cared to read my post that would likely become a permaban for some of strongest cards, as in other games, and I still find it useless just because a bunch of people “oh my god i have to spend one minute more in a battle”. It’s the game and it’s a great game. Deal with it.
The troops locked for the week wouldn’t be decided by (un)popular demand, the devs would be the ones choosing what to be locked. The infamous Manticorex2/Deep Borer/Bone Dragon for example could be dealt with, for a week, if Manticore would be locked, but it could be back later. Of course, similar teams could appear, but at least they wouldn’t be copy/paste compositions that seems to be bothering people too much.
I did it a long time ago, i’m not bothered by the fact that people are trying their best to have defensive victories or at least less defeats. It’s the nature of the beast that everything, within the rules, should be used. My suggestion presents an alternative to not straight forward nerf cards in order to achieve variety, mainly because Manticore was already rebalanced.

That’s just horrible. I altered my Royals team, took out Anariel and added Mab. I had to to counter all of the M/M/DB/BD decks I was seeing.
Mab vs. Manticore is though.
I take out Manticore with Khorvash anyway. Mab keeps the DB/BD loop from getting started. I can survive one hit from BD but 2 or 3 in a row is BS.
I think the PvP screen should be reworked.

The +1, +2, +3 trophies should be set like a difficulty/tier (similar to warlord I, II, IV, etc), so after choosing your difficulty, the 3 teams you select from would have the same number of trophies and relative coins/points. So now instead of one choice for 3+ trophies, you would get 3.

Within a given difficulty level, make the 3 team choices have no duplicated monsters (the team itself could have duplicates, just the other teams wouldn’t have the same cards) - so if one team has for example 2x Knight Coronets, the other two teams the AI has selected for you do not have Knight Coronet. This would make so if you choose 3+, your 3 choices aren’t similar teams like @Esoxnepa demonstrated above. This would also perhaps encourage variety in defense teams.

I would push it one more step, and make all 3 choices from each difficulty be pulled from different guilds (or is this already happening?).

This would be nice, but feels pretty impracticable to code.
A simple solution would be to force players to change defence teams every week.(i don’t know if some one already said that,too much ti read)
I’m getting pretty tired of seeing Bone Dragon. If it’s not the aforementioned M/M/DB/BD, it’s Manticore and Bone Dragon with double Courage. Absolutely freaking annoying.
It’s kind of funny how Bone Dragon has made a resurgence, despite the fact that he hasn’t been changed in a very long time. The meta rediscovered him.
Well, they removed most of the self attack buffs back in 1.0.9, leaving relatively few strong attack buffs, mainly Sunweaver and Sparkgrinder. We’ve since gotten quite a few team-wide attack buffs that are coupled with other effects, happen incidentally because of traits, or grant an extra turn. Armored/Stoneskin/Granite Skin decreased the power of skull-spam teams, and the removal of True Shot from most troops which also occurred in 1.0.9 made them lose their edge entirely. Now that we have more skull generators, such as Infernal King, more armor for Bone Dragon to steal, and Stun to disable those damage reduction traits, skull spam is good again.
I feel your pain. Every other match has at least either of these to choose from. If I didn’t need to replenish gold, I would be in Arena right now.
i think a modification that the same monster can be only rolled in 2 out of 3 teams would be enough
then at least one out of 3 teams dont have manticore
Easiest way to change meta is get tacet to tell his cult following that something else is good. The sheeple will run whatever he tells them to. Done.
Does not work, he recommends a lot of teams, very few of them actually see the meta.
I don’t think he ever recommended the currently popular team, either.
The defensive meta is mostly impacted by success on the leader board. Make it near the top with a good defensive record, and people will notice and imitate.
