also regardless to the amount of times you are being attacked, how does making the fights against you slower benefits you in any way? are you just wishing to send evil deeds / negative carma towards the world? is that it?
haha minor browns arent that bad you are actually helping ppl by setting anything else then the whitehelm
i would help my opponent coz if they liked the idea they might change the defense in the same manner - then that would help me.
edit: also less frustrated ppl might want to spend more money into the game and that helps me.
but its a matter of how u wanna live, spread misery or spread love
my ideal defense team would be the one that has fair win ratio but ends the battle as fast as possible - win or loose but do it fast.
my def team is maw ik sheggra mercy and average around 1:2 win ratio, not perfect but enough for me
You know, while Manticore and Bone Dragon might be a little strong, I’d hate to see them go. This thread’s titular team is one of the few matches that requires a modicum of thought to play against.
While variety in defenses would be nice, it really doesn’t matter much when I can just ignore what the defense is doing and win in a handful of turns.
Why? Because that’s how it’s been so far? That doesn’t mean it must remain that way forever. The devs could put in a “meta-breaker” in some way or another. That’s…kinda the entire point of this thread in the first place.
Even if you’re stuck in a rut, staying in it is simply one choice of many.
I hate to be rude here, but the devs cant even put in simple things like mass ascend or search your troops by 2 colors and you think they are going to put in something like a meta breaker? I love the game and all, but be realistic.
A meta is just a trend. No matter what you do in ANYTHING (not just this game or even gaming in general) there will be trends, or metas.
You make it so the meta Troops aren’t as effective and it will change. The only way to eliminate the meta in GoW would be to make every Troop have identical stats and spells.
I wonder how much of the cloning is due to videos touting the “best” teams? Instead of taking the ideas from these videos and using the reasoning behind them to create a strong team we see cloning. Also in chst and in this forum we see a lot of ‘what’s the best team to use?’. Instead of giving a formula we suggest which ones to use specifically. Or it’s taken that way.
No I’m not blaming! Just suggesting why we see identical troops.
I can see rewarding players on the uniqueness of troops causing real headaches. You’ll get a lot of complaints from people wracking their brains to find a suitable team composition from mana colors only to see it’s not as unique as you thought. It seems the stronger troops cluster around certain mana colors.
People look for guaranteed results not uniqueness.
The thing with Deep Borer is that it actually ignores the destroyed column when it creates the gems - the action order is as follows:
Destroy Column
Create Brown Gems
Drop New Gems to Fill Column
So its even worse because its 9 out of 56 instead of 9 out of 64.
Well sure…which is why I’m explicitly looking for an improvement that adds dynamic changes, and not static balance changes to specific cards. What if enemy selection was weighted to offer less-common teams more often than very common ones? What if defense rewards were greatly enhanced for less-common teams? What if less-common teams lost fewer trophies on defense losses, and/or earned more trophies on defense wins?
Those are just quick spitball ideas, but all examples of how the meta could be changed up, constantly, by factors other than balance changes. Meta game and individual cards are like CSS and text, in the sense that the structure and the content don’t need to be leashed together.
Sorry for the complete noob question but what is the DB in this title?
Dont use this combo myself as manticores avoid me like the plague & dont even have a bone dragon!
Seems good troops avoid me - I’m level 250 & still to get any horsemen, Mab, EK or BD & only have 4 manticores & only at epic. (most blues are approaching mythic by now)
I don’t like nerfing much, but I still kind of like that these complaint threads exist, because maybe they’ll inspire someone to try making a more unique defense team instead of following trends. I know the main reason I try to make my defense teams at least a little unique is because I think cut-and-paste is kind of cheesy and I don’t want to do it. If this thread motivates a few more people to try something different then boom that’s a little more variety in opponents.
