I am hoping that Astral Spire stat bonuses apply to your troops and hero like the campaign artifact. But I don’t know how or if those “special effects” will be displayed as well. (Maybe like the hero talents when you are previewing a team before a battle?)
In any case, there are bound to be problems and bugs that will happen. As long as the gnomes don’t cause too much chaos, I can live with it…
I hate the formatting (no offense, just looks wrong because I was brought up using different symbols), but it’s a good question.
I was also assuming it was adding 15% on afterwards, because it says it’s applied after masteries. But we all know the devs don’t always do things the way we expect them to, based on stuff they’ve told us, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Fingers crossed it ends up at 80%, but even 75% would be something, I guess. It’s just the sort of thing we want to be told, specifically, before we spend points on these nodes. Especially if we can’t reset them.
It seems to me like this is another “dumbing down” of what has already become a pretty easy game. I can remember when this game was a challenge and i felt a sense of pride having done all parts of the game and pure factioned all the delves, and what with the power creep of all the troops and add that all the other dumbing down of the game, its no longer a challenge just a grind the only thing left would be have a bot that plays the game for you, oh sorry youve already done that……you know rather than adding endless new content you really need to address all the other problems with the game like class imbalances for a start and other obsolete parts like treasure hunt and dead currency like curse runes that are a now obtainable in the new delve. Sorry if this turned into rant…. Just hate to see something I love going down the toilet.
Something feels off that one can get so much magic on troops from the system, especially those that uses all mana colors and have x 3 magic multiplier on top. Here I am playing my ass off just to try to max Karakoth for just 1 extra magic point..
I am aware it may take forever to reach all those magic points in the Astral Spire.
Stellarix and Chrysantherax will be the biggest beneficiaries of the new Astral Spire update, which might need to be rebalanced somehow. I think we can get a max of +18 magic (to those specific dragons) once all boards are completed? When you multiply 18 by 3 or 3.25, getting an additional 54 or 58 magic makes those OP dragons even more ridiculous…
I don’t think it matters since it doesn’t apply against players in anyway. It just makes the millions of pvp or explore matches go faster. It also won’t be super quick to get all of those magic bonuses anyways, especially if people go after gold nodes and capstones too.. at least I think it won’t..
Really, if the player is already using Stellarix and Chrysantherax, is that player at a point where they’d want things to take longer? May as well use a different troop instead (Diamantina says hello) to prolong the experience if that’s how the person felt.
Yet, Chrysantherax, Stellarix, and any future “final” dragonite dragons will benefit from all of the gold nodes and capstone effects (that are not related to the hero). And while mythics get half these bonuses, it’s still power creep to troops that were already strong enough, so it will probably just seem like they got stronger when it’s just more of the same thing we have been doing.
But the Chalice Astral board (for allies) has arguably the best effects by giving a 20% chance to cleanse (which is great because Orpheus medals don’t work if we are stunned) and up to a 50% chance? to prevent enemy extra turns. If you don’t have a troop, it already feels like you would be missing out on some powerful bonuses.
Without a way to reset Astral Spire boards, I am going to be patient and just collect star stones. After about a month or so, I will sit down with my calico and ask her for some advice.
Coincidentally, this post actually might have changed my strategy.
I’m already winning most of my matches at a comfortable rate so things like magic bonuses are just little gains, but a flat rate % gem mastery added AFTER the player’s gem mastery is kinda crazy.
The difference between 65%-66% and 80-81% chance is pretty significant. 4 in every 6 3 match (66%) and 4 in every 5 3 match (80%) to get double mana on a starter grab, (thinking Underspire/Journey, bad pvp boards etc.) goes a long way to speeding things up/winning games.
Don’t need it on every color, but if I’m already using one or more classes with a starting brown storm and may/may not already want a different brown benefit.. yeah…

I agree with you to an extent. The game has very few actual challenges for mid/end-game players outside GWs and pure delves. I’m hoping they’ll add more end-game content, something it sounds like they plan to do:
… though we know plans can change. (Remember when medals were introduced, and they talked about being able to add fun and unique new medals as time went on? Or the WoS/Diamantina/Stellarix band-aid being a short-term solution? )
Since only GWs and pure delves pose a challenge in mid/late-game (and pure delves are oftentimes about banging your head against the RNG wall until it falls down), I don’t mind further boosts to reduce grind. If there’s little to no challenge already, we may as well be able to do battles faster.

This means that you do NOT have to have a blue troop on your team to get the cleanse chance.
Thank you guys. I am honestly overthinking this whole thing. Maybe it’s because I had kingdom and troop type pet bonuses in the back of my head…Astral Spire will work a lot like medals–all of the stats and effects will be a “Universal” benefit to all of our Attacking teams.
if it’s ±2000 stars per month it’ll take a couple to get all you want to a some applausible level in one board - so it’s about a year to open some bonuses and a two to master it completelly) for free ofc
Not quite - see what Jeto said. If the bonus specifies something (like “+3 Armor for your Hero” or “+2 Attack for Blue Troops), it only applies to them. Other bonuses which do NOT specify (“+X% chance to cleanse at the start of my turn” or “+X gem creation from my spells”) apply to ALL teams.
