Tasks / Seals / Events Not Resetting Correctly

@Sirrian I truly understand a small team and get that part. A thing to mention is no fixes should happen right before most of you go to a break. As fixes do not always run smoothly. and this just lends into what everyone is experiencing now. If a fix is needed, do a soft reset before the break, then come back and fix it as needed with the proper team. Additionally the game as others mentioned should have a in-game notice when there is a issue to be made aware of. Yes I know coming to the forums solves this. Though not everyone uses the forums and that should be considered. Another thing to also do as its also part of other games I have played and/or play currently. Closing down a game when issues like this arise. Because if a rollback is needed then without closing down the game it will annoy people more if it happens. At least if its closed and a rollback is required a lot less annoyance happens. Even without a rollback my guild (Vendetta - PS4) started donating to the guardians more … And I figure GoW will just tell them ‘Sorry we let you all still do whatever during a glitch … and well you should have noticed’. So regardless of a fix or a rollback if guilds are like mine and started donating again. We’d just prefer a rollback so everything is good at start. I’m just curious why the game is still open when a rollback could be a possibility. In truth it should be shut down for a short time but eh … At this time most of this is useless or a moot point. Just something to consider for next time. And there will always be a next time.

As all of you seem to know so well how and what to do…open your own business and develop your own game. You can’t? So why are you thinking that you know better?

Where do you live? Because I had the “fun” experience that my parents claimed the same thing when delaying Christmas food shopping until the 24th in the morning, then went to our local supermarkets (Edeka and Lidl, so the big ones), they were closed and no good food was eaten over the next few days.:confounded: Around where I live, things are closed. Completely. While I live in a small town (only a few thousand inhabitants), my parents live in a bigger one (population 50k or so) and nope, no open stores at all on Christmas Eve, not even in the morning.

One of my jobs is open all year round (hotel).
One of my other jobs, in a pub, is shut Christmas day and that is it for the entire year.

Not everything closes for certain days.

I’m not saying they should have had staff in over these days of course. Well, to be totally honest I don’t see why anywhere should close on any day other than Christmas day really. But hey, I’m not in charge.

If your comment was purely based on Germany, ignore this. UK resident over here :uk:

Because a job is only there to pay your bills and not to be the only important thing in life

You work to be able to (afford to) live (comfortably), you don’t live to work.

Both are true statements.

I never said you should work every day. It’s why, for me at least, it’s a 5 day rota and you amass holiday as you work.

My point was, new year’s day is nothing special and shouldn’t warrant a holiday. But if in some places it does, you just have to accept it.

In Aus it is a public holiday. Besides major chains, and some restaurants and things like that, just about everything is closed

While this is true - it’s five days in most cases and you get two free days no matter the job, just not always on the weekend - a lot of people have families and want to celebrate holidays like New Year’s with them. If there wouldn’t be holidays which were free for (almost) everyone and you live in a family with four people, you will rarely, if ever, get to celebrate with all of them together. I find it important to have days which are off for everyone except for people who need to work to keep things like hospitals running (and as someone who has spent a lot of her life in a hospital as a patient, I know it’s not like the nurses like working on holidays. Some like working night shifts because it’s less taxing and more money, but no one likes working on holidays when the family is at home and you’re not).

I think it’s worth noting that most of the office was out. However, this does not mean that the entire office was out. Sirrian and NImahin were both here on New Years Day, and even I was around very briefly on social to make sure nothing got out of hand. (Though, I did have a six-hour hangover nap over reset so uh, woke up to some interesting news.) Our team (especially Sirrian and Nimhain) regularly put in a lot more hours than a normal job because we believe in our product. However, on occasion, we do need days off to see our family or have downtime. I do not think this is unreasonable.

Also, typically having Sirrian and Nimhain on is enough, but this is a very specific issue that requires a very specialised skill set to fix. That being said, the humans who can fix the problem are here doing so now.

Having two people in on New Years Day sounds like more than enough and I appreciate that - if they would have been out, we wouldn’t even have gotten any feedback at all when/if a fix would occur, after all, and people might have put more gold into legendary tasks or whatever.

And everyone needs days off. I also strongly believe that a happy, content person who works 40 hours a week and gets enough time for the family and hobbies and resting up does better and more productive work than someone working 60 hours on too little sleep with no time for themselves. So please take care, everyone - I love that you love your product, but health and happiness should always come first (even when people complain. Complains don’t make you unhealthy, but too little sleep and free time does and gives you burn-out).

Happy that everything will be fixed soon, too!

Some 1 said : However, on occasion, we do need days off to see our family or have downtime. I do not think this is unreasonable.
I believe that some 1 should be employed for that days when u r off so everything run smoothly .

At the and of the day you ppl created that good game but i cant understand why we as players have to be punished by u having off day , its unfair on us , definitely when ppl payed to play like my self VIP 11 atm and its a little fortune for my salary and i feel like i have been betrayed by support team and developers because family is important ? yes i do agreed but in the situation when you have a game to maintain , should be some 1 there to do fast fix so all of us can enjoy your game .
I do appreciate work you do and i enjoy game , I hope in this new year will be slightly less issues and if there any they will be fixed asap even if permanent devs are off , thank you

If you are referring to the reset bug, there has not been many bugs like this at all the latest year. When that is said, I believe 2017 was the best year of them all when it comes to the numbers of issues this game have had.

I must stop you right there before you dare to say you all are human beings and not “coffee-powered machines”…
Actually, a “Coffee-powered” Construct has a certain appeal as a new troop for Adana, specially if it enables a combo with a “ToasterBlaster7000”.

I am so tired of hearing this game is free to play!!! I have spent more money on this game then I have ever spent on any game across all platforms! Ever! It has become very clear to me that the devs for this game are either incompetent or just don’t care. Yes, bugs happen but this game needs a professional exterminator. The name of this game should be changed to BUGS OF WAR.

I’ve spent a fair buck, that’s why you see me still here

Hoping things get better and progress.

That was your own choice. There is no content except for the armor, some weapons (which aren’t that great) and the two avatars that is exclusive to high cashers. If anything, I think this game is so much more free-player-friendly than any other online game (People who played MMOs or stuff like League of Angels know what I’m talking about…) I ever checked out. This game is absolutely not P2W, but if you choose to cash, that’s your decision and not the one of the devs.

@pnast: so if it feels for you like it have been a Bugs of War rather than Gems of War, why have you spent so much money on this game?

Nope, I am not buying what your selling. All I see are in game pop ups to spend money. If they are going to make a micro transaction game they need to keep it running. If they cant then time to find new devs or a new occupation.

Progressively, sadly as they’ve tried to implement more and more stuff, it causes more and more problems. I remember when I first kinda started and was getting familiar with the game, I barely realized problems, then you actually can see all the problems and kinda all the “extra” stuff. This is just how I feel. It’s almost like its trying to do too much, and creates some bad/annoying problems like this.
