So what are the volcanic gems? We have burning gems, straight forward effect, they burn. Will the new one explode and burn?

From description:
“When matched, they will explode all gems vertically and diagonally above them.”
Now we just need to wait and see if this really means “above” or just “directly above”.

Volcanic gems should act like a mix of elemental and umbral stars, except they only match with 
and 
gems and will only destroy gems vertically and diagonally. Destroying gems in a mix of straight vertical lines like umbral and elemental stars, while exploding the gems around the volcanic gems when we match, destroy or explode them…
I am sure that everything will be okay. Probably.

Volcano gems and candy gems are listed in the heroic gem guide, in game. It says volcano gems match with reds and explode up vertically and diagonally. Candy gems give 1 mana to all allies of that colour when matched.

so for the next PvP Season:
Rimewing currently has the same exact trait as Helilya.
It would be nice if the two Mythic troops from the same kingdom didn’t have the same unique 3rd trait. It wouldn’t even have to deviate far. It could just be something as simple as Convert 2 Purple Gems to Freeze Gems when my turn begins.
We have a whopping 2 troops with 3rd traits based on Freeze Gems and we’re already repeating the same exact effect…
I’d also think it’d be a bit more impactful if it boost ratio with Freeze gems too, but that’s just me.
Spoilers are subject to change and all that but this is definitely one that’ll get through to live if no one said anything.
