play couple of e1 cycles and you’ll throw them away)
As I said in a different thread on this topic, I no longer feel the urgency to chase the lanterns quite so much. It used to be that I received something like 93-98 mythstones in an E12 cycle in a lantern kingdom, so I’d chase them relentlessly as to get a mythic battle (and the tokens that I’m going to be farming forever) as often as possible.
But now I can simply pick wherever I’d like to fight and only chase the lanterns when my stockpile of mythstones gets low enough to risk missing the mythic battle.
But if we’re going to brainstorm changes? How about allowing players to spend a certain number of “excess” mythstones to guarantee a mimic battle? For example, if you spent 200 instead of 100, you’re guaranteed the mimic. (But not the Hoard Mimic battle, let alone the “grand prize”.) Or some other suitable number well north of “100”, depending on just how many mythstones can be had from an E16 cycle (with lantern) once that’s possible.
I like it. The idea of hitting something like 200 and getting the option to do a normal mythic or something special sounds great, and a battle that always unlocks the mimic being the something special makes sense.
Hey designers. Thanks for changing the next Sunken Fleet troop. Crisis adverted.
for the next holiday event..
Any chance we can get that as True Damage? So we’re not ruining the boost ratio each time we attempt to drown them?
(Is drown yet another term for kill? Could we stick to one term for kill?)
Ipanema is a Legenday “holiday” troop, not a faction expansion troop. Cursed Sailor (Friday June 26) is the faction expansion troop and has not been amended.
Yes, true damage would make her better. It would also make more sense in light of her spell and that boost. But that wouldn’t do enough for her, because P4-NTH4 (Adana) is still better even if that change were to be made, doing the same thing with only a slightly worse boost ratio (5:1 as opposed to Ipanema having 4:1), but for significantly less mana (17 → 13).
…
The developers hit the upcoming Immortals and seasonal PvP mythic with the nerf bat a few days ago – all three had their damage output cut. (Some by a little, some by a LOT.) I’m not sure that this was necessary, but I’m no longer surprised. That’s not the upcoming troop where I would have applied that sort of nerf, but I hesitate to say anything more at this time: if I do, it’s going to fall under the “this is why we cannot have nice things” and the one I have in mind will get neutered.

You can stop with the revisionist history that isn’t even hard to fact check, thanks
They’ve also historically always released a template Immortal then “Immortalize/weaken” it in the week before release.
As long as they don’t Immortal Taureus the poor Immortal, then it’s not the end of the world.
Immortal Byblios has been brought down to Immoral Virago and Immortal Maratus damage formula, but a weaker max boost ratio.
Immortal Zaphaar lost 2 damage.. and it probably didn’t need to since Immortal Trogolin and Immortal Selene has Magic + 2. I’m not losing sleep over 2 damage.
As for the Seasonal Mythic, The Weeping Dutchess losing some of the boost ratio is a little sad, but its also hitting 4 targets (or less since it’ll probably be bugged as usual) so I could see the reason it’s being grounded. It also happen to be Yellow and Purple and a 3rd trait that steals magic, so I think it’ll be just fine in the damage category…
The Weeping Duchess is a mythic-like version of Fire Juggler. I’ll take the epic at roughly half the mana cost, thank you.
that’s fine. It’s nice to see Fire Juggler get fans.
I rather have The Weeping Duchess since she has Spell armor + Impervious and a non-invasive 3rd trait that can sit in the back and do something. That freeze thing that’s constantly around.
Duchess also has a higher damage cast for cleaning up in one shot due to 3 coloration + Astral Spire and has an easier boost ratio to use and residiual benefits from the 3rd trait. That’ll be useful when inevitably Runethius or Immortal Ossifer takes priority in damage dealing for the kingdom in events. It also helps Duchess has a potential secondary effect after cast, which was always my bare minimum baseline for a mythic troop.
Just seen Eternal Dragons mentioned. Is that a new Explore thing? Replacement for mythics, at higher explore levels, maybe? Just guessing, based on context.
seems so ![]()
How eternal are these dragons going to be… Till the next power creep puts them on a dusty shelf… Maybe temporary dragons is more fitting.
I’ve not heard that the Eternals will be player-obtainable. As far as I’m aware, they’re just special enemy boss variants, like the different raid boss variants.
if those eternal versions were player obtainable (exactly as their eternal version)… ooooh boy.
they ain’t but I am just curious where any contexual information is coming from that cannot be attained from data diving
historical context of multiple raid bosses that’s not player owned, the special Epic Vault Key Cedric boss fight, most importantly the naming convention similar to the unobtainable daily dungeon bosses
As Idle said, just a guess based on raid boss variants and similar naming conventions. I only meant that I’d not seen/“heard” anyone sharing info from the data files indicating that players could obtain these troops as well.
I am happy to pretend to be an all-knowing criminal mastermind, though, mwhehehe

Surely they should give us the new craftable dragons so each region has its own eternal dragon before releasing this new explore update …
