(!) Spoiler Alert (!) -- [Any Details Provided are Subject to Change] (Part 2)

Is it me or does Carmina look a little nuts for a legendary, could be fun.

Curious how we’ll obtain it now, adventure board troop on Halloween maybe? But new event seems to surround this troop so maybe something like the Devil was last year.

Cautiously optimistic.

Carmina: It depends… if those skulls overwrite each other, then its junk. If it doesn’t, then it can be decent.

Just looked at that troop again.

I like (sarcasm) how the 2nd and 3rd trait are 2 of the same as Topasarth, the Yellow dungeon dragon. Very creative (still sarcasm). Kind of the opposite of its troop description: “Independent, Creative, Energetic”

You got one of the three at least.

Oh, I have a strong suspicion that her exotic skulls will be able to overwrite ordinary ones already on the board (and vice versa). I’m witnessing “ordinary” gems overwriting “giant” gems of the same color when using spells that have healthy amounts of gem creation, so why should this be any different?

If her spell was just “create skulls” and not “create all these exotic skulls of different types”, she might be an interesting play in a team that can propogate enough skulls on the board for her skull creation to create a looping possibility. But I’m not sure how much that’ll be the case if her exotic skulls of different types can overwrite ordinary skulls.

Two other brief thoughts from browsing the changes to Taransworld this morning:

First, the Halloween pet appears to have gone from being a pure cosmetic to being a single-troop buff for that same Carmina. A small improvement, but an improvement it is.

The Dark Forest troll is pretty much what I was expecting. It’s nothing special, but it’s leaps and bounds ahead of the Clam Lasher we’re getting this weekend in Sea of Sorrows. In my opinion, the Clam Lasher completely sucks; it’s spell is worse than the faction Rare (Mershark) because the gem removal is unpredictable and all-too-likely to leave you a bad board, plus Stealthy means it’ll get your other troops targeted more often and killed faster. I can’t imagine people wanting to use it for anything other than an additional troop for kingdom stars. (Though I reserve the right to be convinced otherwise.)

Gotta say, if nothing else, I do love the art

Yes and yes.

But where does her right hand go? Or is that like decorative band of roses bellow the belly?

If I had to guess… A) Decorative belt of roses around the waist and B) Her right hand is behind her back, holding the dagger.

I don’t think it completely sucks. Rather, I think it might be good here, but I still don’t know if I’d run 1/2 over 2x The Deep King because damage wins the delve…

The spell, if targeted on the Enemy The Deep King, can remove Blue or Brown… both colors which are made heavily by Sea Witch. If it hits brown, it’ll be much harder for the Enemy The Deep King to get a cast off, which is the majority of the damage taken. If it hits Blue, it’ll slow Sea Witch down a little bit. It’ll slow your team down too, so big change of strategy incoming. There’s a few middle rooms that are also really color dependent (purple is the first that comes to mind), so that could be nice.

Stealthy makes it so it can’t take the hit from the Enemy Mershark, making it easier to focus heal with your Sea Witch on one of your other slots.

25% Spell Armor means it’ll hurt less getting hit by a Mershark splash (thanks to Stealthy avoiding the main hit), and it’ll hurt less getting hit by The Deep King so you’ll less likely to be 1-2 tapped on Clam Lasher by TDK.

According to Taran’s the Shentang Legends Reborn is definitely starting after reset tomorrow. I’m wondering if they took any of the pricing feedback at all or if it will be a straight up rehash of the massively expensive cash level like last time. Also to see if they added a skip button for the dialogue between different runs.

I really doubt we’ll see any changes. But hey, if something does happen, I can be pleasantly surprised

If a bunch of fools spent 80 bucks to max a pet last reborn…we will see no change…

If only a few did…the cost will be lower this time…and if there is any post about the lower rate it will be spun as them trying to help us…

We shall find out which one in a few hours

Pricing as delusional as last time. The greed is consistent.

Either enough player fools bought last time so the internal goal for cash was reached.
Or the devs proving once again their resistance to any critique in the past about pricing.

I would so love some overall data, like…
…how many players played during last legends reborn
…how many players bought the $ pet (partially and fully)

The decoy effect is the following:
You have product A and product B. B is a decoy choice: a completely unattractive option that contrasts well with the good product you want your customer to buy (product A).

Don’t assume they’re tying to sell the $80 pet  You have to set the max / outrageous price high to make the previously outrageous look reasonable.

We won’t ever know for sure because we don’t have the data of how many buyers last legends reborn had or how much money it generated - could be you’re right with your assumption/tactic, but I personally don’t think so. Otherwise, it has to be assumed, that the multi-year-long (perceived) greed is near perfection now.
The goal, as we witness it since years now, seems to be to squeeze money out of the players. More and more pay-campaigns and kingdom passes next to normal “offers”. Seems fair to a certain extent, also noone is really forced to invest into it. Still, I wonder if reasonable prices - lets say ~20$/€ max for the cash pet + some goodies in only 1 tier wouldn’t generate way more income due to way more buyers.

I still wouldn’t pay for a pet, etc, for $20.

I guess all those $40 - $60 games that I’m still playing 10 years later has set what I consider the reasonable price in my mind. Micro payments would have to be priced in pennies to compare in value.

I wonder at what point it became normalized to pay absurd sums for a few pixels, which could be taken away from you permanently after a single accusation of cheating or after a corporate bankruptcy. Do people really have that much money to throw away?

I wonder is this the reason for no more pet Saturdays. Only cosmic pets for money now

Remember when mythic traits were mythical?

And not incredibly lazy design done by contractors.

Not that there is anything wrong with doing contract work. I just hope that no one on the staff is that ignorant. Hired help seems more tolerant for duplicate renamed traits less than 3 months between releases.

Bonus points… They both start a light storm as well. :frowning:

I’m pretty sure this part of work is not contracted out, you don’t want temporary external resources to mess with your overall design picture. I guess whoever inherited the mantle from Sirrian might best be described with “couldn’t care less”.

ok lets put worldbreaker with dragonguard hero, plus these 2 cousins that share traits
