(!) Spoiler Alert (!) -- [Any Details Provided are Subject to Change] (Part 2)

Well, let’s analyze the text a bit.

Unlock the Royal Kingdom Pass and earn extra rewards during this new Kingdom Pass.
Unlock the Royal Kingdom Boost and earn extra rewards during this new Kingdom Pass.

  • “Unlock” suggests it’s something not handed out for free, you have to pay for it in some way.
  • “Pass” and “Boost” suggest that there are several payment tiers involved.
  • “Kingdom” suggests it’s linked to the weekly event kingdom, possibly a weekly subscription.

Maybe the Pass buys some shop tiers for all events of the kingdom (world event, faction, pet rescue, class)? That would actually be kind of neat for those players that don’t want to directly purchase gems, provided it comes at a significant discount. The Boost might improve Explore rewards (more traitstones, more tokens), possibly add some temporary stats to kingdom troops (which would be very unwelcome during GW week).

Just guessing, going by the past year there’s likely something way more controversial in there.

There’s also a very real possibility that it refers to “New Kingdoms” and not specifically new “Passes”. For all we know this might be something like releasing a new kingdom and offering people a chance to unlock things related to the new kingdom like weapons, troops or pets with money to not have to spend in game resources.

Compared to having 3 guild events running during the weekend.

Looks pretty fun to me.

I’m just digging the He of Many Parts trait name. That’s a badass theme with the +2 to a random skill at start of turn as the Flesh Horror Ghulvania monster’s last trait. I’m looking forward to this Legendary quite a bit.

+2 is really bad. It will have almost no impact in any meaningful fights. I mean maybe if it’s like your first legendary and you’re fighting some really low level stuff, then +2 could add up over time, but otherwise it’s trash.

Most of the “+x at the start of the turn” traits aren’t as wonderful in practice as they sound on the drawing boards. Because while those traits can help, they also require lengthy fights to make a real difference and that’s generally not something to aim for.

There are plenty of worse traits, there are plenty of less effective traits. But there’s also plenty of better ones.

I’m talking thematically how it ties in with the name, the art and the trait. It’s just a neat aesthetic. Of course the +2 to a random skill is nothing special, I just enjoy how it works with the overall design of the troop and shows some thought went into tieing the various elements together (or stitching them together in this case). The get rid of all armor plus damage all troops below spell is what I’m actually excited about. Similar to Smashedmouth but with armor stripping instead of the knockback.

This doesn’t bode well:

This Gem has no mana color and cannot be matched, it needs to be exploded or destroyed. It gives full mana to 1 or more allies, or all allies and enemy troops.

Another gimmick gem specifically designed to backfire on you, by possibly filling up the whole opponent team, no matter which side triggers it? :weary:

Hmmm, did anyone check if one of the devs or whoever comes up with these ideas (who knows?) has a serious gambling addiction?

I mean, with all the random stuff that is added to the game…

Yikes. Hopefully this is just a poor description, because it sounds terrible.

I’m excited to see how it will crash the game.

I think the devs should get paid randomly too. They seem to enjoy rng :woman_shrugging:

Horrible for delving, looks like another campain skip on delving, while that thing is active.

Who knows, maybe less than 50% of their salaray is paid normal, and the rest depends from RNG :stuck_out_tongue:

I was going to say that the random salary explains why we’ve been getting such iffy results, but the results are generally consistent on that front …

Good RNG funtions on average will give arround 50% results below middle of given range…
So, if we take assumption, that each of staff members gets their salary assigned indepenetly, half of the people are always underpaid ( but these people are random each month).

Maybe the randomness is about which iffy result they aim for? Like roll a D6 for the next heroic gem to get introduced:

1.) Matching the heroic gem creates an empty space on the board that can no longer be interacted with.
2.) Lycanthropy gems instead of the new heroic gem show up.
3.) Luther pops in every time the heroic gem gets matched and delivers the multi-step tutorial.
4.) Battle locks up whenever the AI matches one of the heroic gems.
5.) Whenever a storm is active, only the heroic gem drops in.
6.) Battle rewards somehow end up getting deducted instead of added, to be fixed with the next major update.

  1. Every time this gem is matched, a random game feature will stop working correctly AND the devs disappear for the next week.
