Winter Imp should go in tomorrow too
Just reposting useful information to avoid the derailment that was the last few days here.
Troops of note to trait:
##Legendaries:
- Tomorrow: Blue/Yellow stones. I like Celestasia. Infernal King also gets his stones, too, which are Yellow/Purple.
- Week after: Archer class is a must with Green/Green, but Mab’s traitstones (Blue/Purple) are going to be 2 for 400, meaning only 3200 glory to trait
- Blue/blue can go to Justice, but it’s mostly un-noteworthy. Blue/Brown goes to Khorvash, again on an epic! Trait him while you can!
- Yellow/Yellow is Humility! One of the more important guardians to trait but SO much glory… I’d recommend skipping unless you have a massive glory pool and somehow haven’t traited him yet. Green/Red is one of the more plentiful arcanes, but I can’t think of anything useful that needs it off the top of my head. Kruarg and Gloom Leaf come to mind, but nothing really worth it. I’d skip out on this week entirely.
- Red/Purple. The Dragon Soul is the only legendary I can think of to use these arcanes. His last trait is pretty good if you want to dole out the 4800 glory to trait him off a UR pack. However, Red/Brown is Sheggra and also Jarl Firemantle, both of whom I have a distinct fondness for. You might not care for them, so it’s up to personal taste.
##Mythics:
- Abynissia requires Yellow/Blue (Next week/tomorrow) and Blue/Purple (The week after next) You can fully trait her within the next two weeks!
- Wulfgarok requires Red/Green which will be available four events from now! You can’t fully trait him, but you can get half of his stones
- Gard’s Avatar takes Yellow/Brown, which is only available until the next event starts, tomorrow! Hurry up and get them fast!
- Death takes Blue/Purple, which will be available the week after next!
- Famine takes Yellow/Brown, which will only be available until tomorrow!
- War takes Brown/Red which is five events from now, so you have plenty of time to save up glory if you want to trait him!
Overall, Spirits (Blue/Purple) will be essential to stock up on and will be the most valuable traitstones that we are getting for the rest of the year, AND they’re on an epic! Stock up while you can, and you might wish to save for them.
Edit: I said Honor. I meant Humility. My bad, got the names mixed up. Yellow guardian. You are getting yellow guardian stones.
red/purple is also good for aziris to hasten explore farm if ur team bases on Dragon Soul.
necromancy + magic link is not a bad combo (might be a niche but ppl dont realise it so i wanted to at least bring it up)
The Red/Purples are only on an Ultra Rare, and Epics take a lot of traitstones. I would definitely recommend TDS before you trait Aziris. Hands down. I would also trait Succubus before you trait Aziris, actually. Because that takes one sixth as many traitstones.
except that i dont need DS trait to haste explore (it only increases survivality)
and i wouldnt use succubus at all anyway
aziris is speeding up explore a lot. its just a different niche but not a bad one
TDS sees more use in PvP and defense teams though. Which is why I would recommend it first. I’m not saying Aziris doesn’t have his spot, but twelve stones at 300 glory each is STEEP for a non-unique trait.
i dont question price but utility =) what i thought is u listing usable troops not the cheapest-for-kingdom-power troops
thats why aziris deserve a spot to mention, not neglecting DS (who deserves a spot too)
after all u only need up to 4 troops for pvp and up to 4 troops for explore
Whose second and third traits are rather worthless, since they require her to be first, and pretty much duplicate each other’s functionality.
Sheggra is great, but her traits are just… not. The only reason to trait her is if you need it for kingdom power level (stars).
This was really helpful thank you!
Before you spend a ton of glory for any of the mono color stones, keep in mind that you still need sixty runic stones (in addition to the 30 arcanes) of that color to fully trait the guardians, so many of you will have to farm somewhere to get them done anyways, or be bled dry or runics and have to farm them for the next trait that comes along. After you trait the guardians and the commons, that leaves some of the worse classes and imps, making the arcanes you will continue to get occasionally from keys effectively worthless. You could buy the mono color, and farm in a dual color area to get your runics while getting arcanes that are useful long term, but if you have a limited glory supply it is probably more time and cost effective in the long run to just farm the mono color and save glory to get extra of every dual color arcane you can when Epic packs come along. This is doubly true for Arcane Summer - if you don’t have enough already, the current drop situation will have you cursing them eventually.
To piggyback on this a bit, is anyone else getting into a situation where Runics are now becoming the bottleneck? I’ve been hoarding enough Arcanes from Glory Pack purchases over the months (being on top of tribute collection helps immensely) to maintain a comfortable collection (20 or more) in all but a select few, usually after traiting a new Mythic or Legendary. Runics can only be acquired by opening chests, randomly acquiring in PvP or Explore or spending cash. So I’m now in a situation where I can’t trait certain troops because I actually have more of the Arcane than the Runic! Blue and Brown seem to be the greatest obstacle for me, I spend those as soon as I get them or hoard a small stockpile for future events.
I do wish that Guild Legendary Tasks would provide a small number of Runics instead of the 20 Minor traitstones.
Yep, this is where I am right now.
Yep, runic is also bottleneck for me. I wish they would replace minors with runic in legendary task.
For me at least, runic bottlenecks are a result of the hoarding for mythics. One of the best sources for tunics are glory keys. Not opening any until a mythic rolls around starves you pretty drastically.
Seriously? Am I really the only one who has way too many runics? I don’t think I ever felt a shortage of runics, and it’s been months since I got enough to trait every troop in the game.
you’re not alone in that.
I’m approaching “the end”, the only non-arcane I need now is minor red. Still need 450 or so of those
my bottleneck is still arcanes, runics somehow come by, i sometimes short magic runics but its not a big deal usually by the time i get the arcane i need to trait with that runic
I actually never hoard keys. I usually open them as I get them. Agreed on glory chests as one of source for runic (a moment of silence for old economy system). And I don’t bother to do explore. That’s probably why.
PS: I don’t starve on runic wind. I’ve traited almost all troops that need runic yellow and still got tons of them. Thanks to all Whitehelm citizen! Lul
Training up my Guardians has drained me of Runics, but it’s only temporary. Usually I get enough from glory keys and targeted Exploring that they’re not a bottleneck if I have enough Arcanes for a trait.
