[reported] Dud Pet Gnome drops no food, doesn't trigger rescue

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
Pet Gnome should drop pet food and trigger pet rescue. It did neither of those things.

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
First PvP battle after triggering a pet rescue + doing the rescue + not playing for an hour until the rescue is over

Steps to make it happen again
See above. Happened thrice this weekend when the above conditions were met, which is why I recorded the third instance upon noticing the pattern.

Nice catch! Same thing happened to me as well. No pet food and no pet rescue after waiting the hour.

Was it the first battle back in PvP in the same region as you were before you did the pet rescue?

I’m wondering if we can avoid this by either changing the region or ignoring the pet gnome on the first battle back in PvP.

Yes, same region, same attacking team..

..wondering if it’s also what happened here: Double Pet Gnome

..although in their case there was a Rescue still running, and one of the Gnomes was legit since they received 2 pet food.

Another hour went by, another test: this time with a cliffy error, and upon restart a legit pet gnome:

Seems to happen when you immediately “teleport” from pvp to rescue the pet via the popup dialog, then when you return to pvp, any first battle has a “fake” pet gnome

Yeah, it seems it’s the same team too, so long as you don’t change regions.

But if you don’t “teleport” as you said, go back out to the main world and select the pet battle from the menus, it doesn’t do it?

I had a pet gnome pop up in a citadel battle, won the battle and no pet rescue selection, nor was a pet rescue already ongoing.

Since then I ignore that popup menu, and do Pet rescue the regular way with no issues, no phantom gnomes show up

Reported this to the team a little while back but I have yet to get an update on it. Will try and chase it up next week as I dont think I will get a chance today
