You can already hunt pet gnomes on Tuesday and Thursday.
Another thing that can be done is do PVP Tue and Thurs and explore Wednesday. Might be what I do.
Folks that do B1 wars and win it put in a lot of work. Not easy. Maybe you should join a B1 guild and see how hard it is to take 1st. I saw no Entitlement from anyone. I do see folks asking for more when the Devs are already giving us a 3 day vault event. Some asking for more days and some asking that a pet event get moved. I don’t know how hard those things are to be changed but myself I’m happy with the 3 day extra event we have been given.
this will do thank you @Nimhain
they already have one planned for saturday i think
@Nimhain is there any chance the band gnome appearance rate could be slightly increased for the mid week vault? Not like first release but some of us will be working for those days and can’t grind as much.
I hope there is no catch…I am still hoping for the vault weekened scheduled on christmas aside from this.
Maybe they will add a band member or 2 to the special AB next week. Not saying it will happen but there is a chance it could happen perhaps
I appreciate the official response but what is missing here is a commitment to quality control. Database optimizations don’t cause bugs. Database optimizations without testing cause bugs. A lot of the game breaking issues reported recently could have been found with less than 5 minutes of testing. Either things are not being tested (at all) or devs are rushing things out the door leaving no time to test and then fix errors. If something doesn’t work, just don’t ship it. Some of the campaign issues that plagued us for weeks were absolutely horrible. I guarantee you almost all of us would have rather went a week with no event than weeks of a broken one.
Is this fix supposed to be live yet? Because I’m still only able to get 10 per day.
You’re reading it wrong. You weren’t supposed to be able to get 20 a day in the first place. They made sure you can’t anymore.
ugh.
Oh well, doesn’t bother me too much (I can finish the last ones tomorrow), but it might affect other players who have limited time & are not able to grind every single day. I’m feeling concerned for those.
That’s what I do every time we have a 24h pet rescue so that’s my plan as well.
I’ll also probably do my GaPs on Wednesday.
I certainly won’t complain at all if the pet rescue stays where it is every week.
I didn’t see that.
Well, then that doesn’t work.
Thank you for the detailed update, @Nimhain. This is exactly the sort of thing that helps restore confidence in the game, after so many recent problems.
Incidentally – if you see this – we met briefly at PAX AUS 2014, though I didn’t immediately start playing GoW. I was too involved in Diablo III at the time.
If I were to ask one thing of you, it would be to always schedule time for tweaking and fixing of any new feature, after release.
As you say, your testers sometimes don’t pick things up. But the minor issues are even more problematic in the long term. For example, there’s still at least three visual and functional bugs with the “new” chat interface; and, of course, the Guild Wars GUI looks empty, abandoned, and very unprofessional in between wars. I’ve posted literally dozens of examples like this over the last 4 years, sadly with little response.
I guess the change of attitude I’d like to see, is to anticipate that no new feature will ever be released in a final state – further tweaks will always be needed.
If I had to ask a second thing, it would be not to overload us again, as you did during the launch week of Nexus – that was insane! (Or possibly, I’m insane to try and do everything.)
I appreciate this official response, but point 4 is not truthful.
These traits were removed and replaced a few months back. The devs then added them back and called them fixed.
They were not fixed.
They then released the same type on the umbral nexus troops.
They are claiming to have missed them in testing. If that part is true, then the testing is broken. A single battle using any of these troops would have shown that.
This isn’t a case where things are just being missed, this is a case of the entire process not working at all.
The only example I can think of is this.
I have too cars and way two many parts.
A spell check will not tell you there is an issue here. Relying on that program is not a valid option. A person reading and understanding grammar is what is needed. Just like the testing process that is used. STOP relying on a program that doesn’t work. You must have adequately trained QA staff to locate these issues. In the case of these traits it is not hard. Like I said earlier, a single battle would have shown the issue.
With all that said, the reality is they know about the bugs and still release the content.
But, at least you tried to explain it away. I can give some credit for the effort.
Yeah, that “bug” should have just been left alone imo. It gave players a little flexibility if there were days they could not play.
But it detracted from the FOMO and gave players a way to partially outsmart the system (and maybe not have to spend so many Gems once that button is re-enabled) so of course it had to be removed.
@Nimhain You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Please continue to be our Paragon of communication!
It probably doesn’t make any difference, but I feel compelled to point out @Nimhain is female.
It’s so nice to see an informative official post without threats. Thank you!
