I… I figured it was something like that, but I still don’t see it. I mean, I know even the devs call them that now, but still, that’s gross.
I care about the lore. I came to this game because of its lore which I loved very much. Then it all went to hell and there’s nothing left for me to care about. Lore is basically all that matters to me in games. Honestly, all the February crap killed my muse for any kind of GoW writing as well. I just stopped caring.
Honestly I can see why Gard might seem evil. His look and pose definitely matches that.
Honestly it’s a long story. But I basically cared a lot about some of the characters/kingdoms, to the point where I had started to write a novel about them. Then new lore got published and suddenly it turned out that my favourite character is not some cool emperor who cares for his people but a corrupt dude who’s into polygamy and having a mafia rule his empire. I am an RPG fan who always plays games not for graphics or gameplay but only for characters and lore. I basically feel like I signed up for cool rock music and then, suddenly, the rock music got replaced this month by cat vomit noises. So I’m out.
…This was good thread derailment again. Whoops. Erm, raid boss. He didn’t get any lore, either. Poor dude. Also he shouldn’t sit in fourth spot to give him any chance of influencing battle. There, fixed the off-topic.
He was there in one battle, but yeah… we know absolutely nothing about him. It’s something a lot of troops who are there for kingdom release suffer from; normally only the troops added each week and the mythics get any lore. Everyone who gets released with a kingdom gets absolutely nothing. Titania at least managed to establish some sort of personality through Bright Forest’s questline (though we still know nothing about her motivations), but Liang really didn’t get a chance to do anything. Poor guy.
To be more accurate it’s dated back to when these were first introduced. If i correctly recall @Jainus was the one naming the Event Points like something he related to his experience as a parent during the times his little ones got sick. It’s all documented somewhere in the forums.
A small correction: He didn’t called those Snotstones right away, but Snotgems. Maybe the term just kept changing over time. And i’m pretty sure that at some point he mentioned his fatherhood experinces when naming it, or maybe it was an unrelated topic by the time. I found his post: 2.2 Patch Notes - #203 by Jainus
