Problem to launch the game (Error 768 Asset corruption on Xbox)

I read the official note on https://gemsofwar.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000532215-Asset-Corruption-Error-768-on-Xbox, but I cannot change the game language, since I cannot ENTER THE GAME. My Xbox was in English and I tried changing the console language to Portuguese in Settings (I am in Brazil), but the game still loads in English with the same error. Is there something I am missing here?

EDIT: After two attempts, I finally managed to enter the game, but I saw variable names instead of labels. I changed the language to Italian and everything was OK. However, when I changed back to English, the variable names were back. Therefore, the error seems to be happening exclusively with the English language file.

Be sure to follow the steps:
1.remove both saves, cloud and local, you will see only one, you have to clic on this one, then choose, remove it from everywhere.
2.Go back with B, to refresh then remove the other thing, the Free space of the game
3.remove the game
4. clear the cache by turning off your Xbox One, then after a moment, remove from it the power cable, wait 30sec to 1 minute, then turn your xbox On again.
5.DL again Gems of War

And about your EDIT: check the posts just above, we got the same problem of txt…

Coloquei o idioma para espanhol e tudo carregou e as tropas apareceram.

Voltei para inglês e tudo estava normal.

Precisei sair.

Agora, voltei a entrar no jogo e o nome dos reinos estava, novamente, em código. Mudei, novamente, para idioma espanhol e voltou ao normal. Mudei para inglês e o problema com nome dos reinos e tropas sumidas continuou.
Tive que voltar para espanhol. Por enquanto, até resolução do caso, vou continuar com idioma espanhol.

@VonBarten: Thank you for the attention. I followed your instructions to the letter, with partial results: now I can play the game and all submenus seem to be fixed, but the main interface is still showing variable names (for instance, for country names) and I CAN’T EDIT TROOPS. Apparently the program understands there is an active filter which doesn’t find anything. The message in the [TROOPS_AND_TEAMS] window is [NO_ITEMS_MATCH_CRITERIA_COLLECTION_MESSAGE]. Any suggestions?

If you are now able to load the game but you are seeing code in the game text still please:

  1. Try changing your game language to English and then back to your preferred language, this should make the language files load correctly
  2. If the issue happens again, please delete your save data: How-to Delete Save Data on Xbox
  3. And reinstall the game: Reinstall Gems of War on Xbox and PlayStation 4

If you are still experiencing issues after trying this, please let me know.

@Cyrup: I deleted all save data (both locally and in the cloud by choosing “Everywhere”), cleared the cache by turning off and unplugging the console, and deleted & reinstalled the game a few times. No matter what I do, the interface in English appears with errors (variable names instead of actual text) and there is no way to edit troops/groups. When I change the language to Spanish or French, everything is OK. When I change back to English, the issue returns. At this point it seems the only viable way to play the game is to use another language, although this makes it difficult to find troops by name.

Unfortunately the issue isn’t on our game servers or in our game code, it’s on another company’s servers somewhere on the path between us, so this isn’t something we can fix directly here at Gems of War. We have however, contacted the company who is having the issue so we can provide information which may be useful in helping them solve it.

We have also made a workaround for the issue so that at least some of our players who are experiencing the issue can continue playing until it’s fixed.

If anyone is still seeing code instead of normal text, changing your game language to English and back to your native language may at least temporarily solve that issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we know it’s frustrating during Guild Wars week. We’re doing everything we can.

@Kafka: Thank you for the explanation, but at least in my case changing the language to something else and back to English doesn’t work. The game works well with other languages, but the problem reappears when I change it back to English. Apparently the issue is on the English language files.

UPDATE: Today the game is working fine in English, either by chance or because the issue was fixed.

ok, so first of all, thanks to you Cyrup, Kafka, and the team of GoW for the helps and the support.
I hope that this new txt problem now (after this error 768) will be managed soon because it’s becoming really hard to play but at least, we can “play” now…but not so much:
Actually I had to do all the steps again (cache, saves reDL etc) , because the english language started to be ''texted" like the french so we are waiting, like you, for an improvement as soon as possible.
Because each time we leave the game we got less languages to make this little glish to be abble to see the names properly.
I really hope that this intermediate company that you speak off will do things quickly because it becomes quite difficult for us.

Update: Since friday night it’s working fine in French Language

To all concerned, 2 things,

  1. If you still have the problem you need to unplug the power cord in the process of doing the reset to clear the cache, that is possibly more important that resetting the language,

  2. this morning when i logged on i had no problems everything seems back to normal let’s see if it stays that way…

I clear the cache. Delete my saves. Reinstal my game but i ve got the problem with words. I have change the language to spanish it works 1 hour then the problem will be back. Its the same for every languages

Worked for me yesterday evening (I managed to play till 11 PM).
Launched the game this morning (7 AM), got the name of everyrhing with [ ]. changed in English, worked fine, changed in French, name with [ ].
Delete save, re-install game, launch in english, then switch in french seemed to be working…

Let’s see if I’ll be able to continue playing.

and @iceinc, I fully agree with you about the “pay to win” direction the game has taken… nerfing units, decrease of drop rate for traitstones, mythics or legendary… events taking sooooo much time…
I’m getting the impression I’m not progessing in the game…
Not to mention the “gifts” guild in 4.1 that seemed to be gifts obtained with “real money” instead of ressources of the game…

I don’t know how long I’ll keep playing, mais I may slow down drasticly soon in order to play other games …

Other languages are working just fine. The problem only happens when you try to play in English, which a lot of people do either because of personal preference or because their native language is not supported by the game (Brazilian Portuguese is not, for example).

Changing the language from English to anything else and back to English again will not solve the problem unless you clear your save every single time you launch and close the game.

This is especially annoying because the game will often freeze and you will be forced to restart it. And when you do that, there’s nothing you can do in-game to make the English translation appear instead of codes.

Today language problem in french :
Names with codes.
Switching to english is ok. Switching back to french not good.
I had to delete the reserved space of the game and launched again.
It downloaded 3.56 mb and after that it was ok in french.

Don’t really know why this kind of things happen, but if I only have to delete the space, could be fine…

Hello, I can`t load into any battle. did all the language switching, lost 3 guild wars battles for my guild which is in bracket one, and now it wont load.

yesterday i log in fench and see the now well known problem of [var_name_instead_of_proper_description].
i switch to english : problem solved
i go back to french : problem
i switch to italian : problem solved (but i don’t read italian…)
i go back to french : problem
i switch to english : problem !!! (arglll !!!)
I restart my xbox one
i enter the game in english : problem (arrrrrrglll…)
i switch back to french : problem solved : YEAAAAAHHHH !!!

since yesterday it’s okay for me… (en français on dirait qu’il faut croiser les doigts tout en touchant du bois…)

For Brazilian players who want to play in English:

If simply switching to English doesn’t fix the problem, please ensure your Xbox system language is also set to English, then set the game language to English then exit and re-open the game and hopefully that will work.

First thing to try is what the article Cyrup linked above says though!
