@Jeto I am really disappointed that you guys put world event for Blackhawk week again. This kingdom has 13 free weapons and the 14th weapon is locked behind paywall which is preventing many of us from upgrading it to power level 30. Would it be possible to switch it out to a different weekly event so that it can finally get another weapon? It’s hard to believe now that this is all coincidence.

This seems like an intentional aggressive insult to the entire player base. There is no excuse for blackhawk to get passed over again

Well, it’s not all bad news…

•A Silverglade attack restriction for Guild Wars is fine as there are plenty of options to keep yourself protected while dealing damage. With Reflection of of Good and Life and Death, your hero is fine (Unlike Ghulvania). The mythics are strong enough to deal with the meta with a careful team set-up, and I’m not too worried about it.

•Legends Reborn is always welcome for the imperial deeds and other rewards that you don’t have to pay for. I will break down the troops that are getting a buff with the new pets: Astral Mother (should have been The Worldbreaker), Orion (should have been Orrery), Bul’tauros (should have been Centuragon), and Winged Donkey (should have been Herdmaster.

Epic Fail on all the future buffed troops.

Vault weekends: October 24-26, November 21-23

That is depressing… pet upgrades on scatter damage and half damage. It’s like they intentionally go out of the way to upgrade troops (shiny/legend reborn pets) no one uses to try to give them more uses, but never actually look at the troop to see why no one uses them so the upgrades are still a waste of time.

Like… of all of the possible Shiny upgrades for Crimson Bat, who volunteered for 1 stack of bleed to all enemies?

Crimson Bat is great, but I feel like the devs just randomly assign which legendary troops become shiny for guild wars. A lot of the problems in this game come from the fact that the devs don’t really think about high level play and difficult situations that we put ourselves in.

The legends reborn pets might look great, but they are basically glorified cosmetic pets. Sorry devs. You failed on reworking Astral Mother. (she needed to destroy gems of a chosen type, and have her final trait reflect a random ally when her turn begins).

There is a clear difference between Gameplay and Game design. This game has such a large gap between us and them, you could fit a whole solar system in that black hole.

Not the ‘entire player base’, just those that were not around when the weapon was introduced, or have chosen not to buy the weapon when offered.

Why the big gap between vault weekends? The last one was sep 12th The only event worth playing and there’s a massive gap. Nice one

You have 5 days off in October and consider this an unusual amount of days?

Also with the last two days being 2 1/2 weeks away from the end of October. :person_shrugging:t2:

For whatever reason, the brains behind the event rotation seem to have a bias towards certain kingdoms being certain events.

It’s aggravating and unfortunate that Blackhawk keeps getting the short end of the stick. It would be nice if there was enough advance planning to grant us a Blackhawk week on something else and to give us that weapon so many of us are missing instead of the (approximately) 8053rd cosmetic pest for “Talk Like a Pirate” day.

But it’s not like other kingdoms haven’t been treated the same way, just with alternate events. There are kingdoms that have hosted a Raidboss three times; there are kingdoms that have hosted multiple Journey events; there are kingdoms that seem to get a Tower of Doom every cycle (of six) or every other cycle (of six).

I also suspect that this isn’t malicious, no matter how it might seem. I’m more inclined to believe that this is Hanlon’s Razor in action.

The date of the next vault weekend is correct, it is because the September one had been brought forward by two weeks following a calendar change, so the deadlines are respected

I believe the Guild Wars is being swapped with the Expanded Faction week, so GW won’t run during a Journey event and also at the time when the studio is still experiencing the most of our open and closed days.

According to the images we’re getting new mythics on -

the 3rd and 31st of October and -

the 7th and 28th of November.

Sounds awesome, but I’m guessing it’s a mistake, sadly.
Icon is definitely the new mythic. I checked here: Monthly Event Schedule : Infinity Plus 2 (It was annoying hard to find since these posts no longer include a link to the page).

Thats just a mistake from when I made the calendar, there is not two mythics in October

Could you please confirm which event is currently scheduled for the 10-12th October?

Any please at least update your published calendar graphic to indicate some uncertainty, if the decision hasn’t been finalised about swapping that weekend with the next one.

Thanks.

That is why we do include this in every blog, and yes, once it has been confirmed, it will be mentioned and if I have a chance I’ll also update the images and blog.

Astral Mother isn’t bad. I won all guild wars battles with her in my team. Scatter damage can be more devastating than “damage all troops” when there is only 1 or 2 troops left. Centuragon is strong enough as is. @TheIdleOne

I said nothing about Centuragon, but you know what. Give it a pet. The Magic boost would do nothing anyways.

And Astral Mother… if you like paying 24 mana to do a simple amount of true scatter damage, then let’s hope the Devs do more!

I feel like half the time when people say a spell is weak, they overlook the boost multiplier. Not sure if you are or not, but wanted to look into the math to see if the spell is as bad as you’re suggesting.

Astral Mother’s spell deals [magic + 10] true scatter damage, boosted by 10 per gem removed. Assuming you have 50 magic, that’s 60 scatter damage plus 10 for each gem. That’s gonna depend on what gems are on the board, but if you have a storm going, you could easily have 15-20 of one kind on the board, meaning 150-200 extra scatter damage. So, reasonably 24 mana for 210-260 damage at the top end.
And it removes gems, so if you use it well, you can trigger cascades that give you an extra turn and mana back. If you’re lucky, especially in a storm, you could cast it twice in a row, on one turn, meaning double the damage for the same mana, essentially. So, 420-520 damage for 24 mana, if you’re lucky.
And that’s all true damage, so worth a lot more than just normal scatter damage. And scatter damage is useful against any number of enemies, but best against one enemy. Throwing that much true damage at a single target, you’re gonna wipe anything except super high level enemy teams.

Sure, the low end is 50 magic gives 70 damage, which is weak for 24 mana, but you should only be picking to remove gems of a colour that has few gems on the board, if there’s a good tactical reason to do so. Like to guarantee an extra turn and mana back. In which case, that damage is enough. Generally, you probably won’t pick any colour with less than 10 gems, for 160 damage.

So, overall, it’s not the best troop ever, but it’s not terrible. On a good team, in the right circumstances, and playing carefully, it shines.

EDIT: Just talking about the spell here. The traits still need looking at, and it would be better if it destroyed gems instead of removing them. But just for spell damage, I stand by this evaluation.

I think the devs thought too hard with Astral Mother because they took Astral Spirit into account. Yes, they both remove gems, but I always think that I am destroying gems with Astral Mother because she acts a lot like Beetrix, but you have to think about gem placement, cascades and other things to make her “shine.” Beetrix just destroys everything without thinking about it…

Giving reflect to a random ally on 4+ gem matches would be one of the most busted defensive abilities, but it would be funny watching Chrysantherax kill itself. Reflect is a good, defensive status effect, but we have no way to reliably trigger it and use it more strategically.
