Can someone who’s found a hoard mimic (battle) clarify exactly how it works?
You finish the regular mimic fight, are dumped back to the explore screen, try to open the mimic chest, and a hoard mimic battle triggers…right?
I’m hundreds of chests and many mimics in, and I’m starting to get paranoid that I read the patch notes wrong and I’m missing something.
@covertmuffin123 If I remember correctly you get an invite for doing the mimic battle right after doing the boss battle. Then if youre lucky and get the hoard mimic it will appear right after the mimic battle as well. So got nothing to do with if you clicking the boss chest or not.
Hmm, ok. I’m on console so I’m just mashing the confirm button and not really looking at the screen all the time. Sounds like it’s impossible to miss and I’ve just been unlucky so far. Thanks.
I’m at 324th boss chests with 0 Hoard mimic chests.
@ALP That is brutal. How many mimic chests did you get?
I did more than 800 boss chests and only 18 Mimic Battle and 0 Hoard Battles
It is very disappointing doing so much and don’t get the Mythic drop or not even have a chance to do the Hoard Mimic battle.
After you beat the boss as soon as you click to open the boss chest, it either opens as normal giving you tokens or you get a popup saying oh no Mimics it then takes you to the team selection screen (if you back out on the team select screen the battles persists)
When you enter the battle and beat the Mimics it takes you back to the explore screen and there will be a Mimicx2 chest. When you click on the chest to open it you either get the tokens x2 or you get a popup saying you have a hoard mimic battle.
Once you beat them you get a 5xMimic chest and when opened you either get 5x the tokens or 5x the tokens and a Hoard Mimic troop.
I created this Image to show the stages to get the Hoard Mimic:
You need to get lucky to get the Mimic battle from Mythic Boss Battle, then you need to be super lucky again to get the Hoard Mimic battle from the Mimic Battle, then super super lucky to get the mythic drop.
I still did not get the Mythic, hopefully I get lucky one day.
Before the gnome event I managed to get 1-2 mimic chest chances out of reaching the boss chest 20 times.
Then the Gnome event started I have only managed to get 1 mimic chest in 120 tries.
I loved to have the chance of getting double tokens from time to time.
I am not talking about getting the hoard mimic fight chance here.

Is this all Explore 12? It wouldn’t be surprising if Mimic/Hoard Mimic Chest rates are affected by Explore Level, much like Medals are…
272 from last week (lvl12) . After that mostly lvl01 chests.
353 boss / 35 mimic / 0 Hoard mimic chests so far.
My stats so far:
784 boss chests
83 Mimic chests
12 Hoard Mimic chests
No Mythic drop so far.
The grind continues…
Thanks: I’ve done a couple of thousand explore battles this week (so ballparking at ~20 Boss Chests) and got 5 mimic battles thus far, no Hoard Mimic… one of the battles was during GaP, with all Mimics being (unexpectedly) replaced by Gnomes…
…curious what’s the lowest explore level with a documented Hoard Mimic Chest (Cronus has seen them in Explore 9, based on data in comment 78 in this thread)
Well, I found one doing a double GAP. Was lvl 1 explore (though the fight was still E12. Don’t even get me started on THAT).
My first Hoard mimic chest at 374th boss/ 41st mimic chest. I don’t think I’ll get the mythic with this rate =)
hit 200th e12 explore boss fights.
7 mimics.
0 hoard mimics.
6 of the 7 doubled a 2 token drop. 4 of those were 2 orpheous.
