List of losses due to rollback

I’m not casual player. I just know better than to play when you know what’s gonna happen….. you think it was going to go unnoticed?

Hard to believe half of you even pulled what you got in the first place.

I’m not defending the devs but now that this happened everyone had the perfect run yesterday. Got that book. Pulled the dragon. Etc….

I’m not buying it.

But if you are playing the game for a time during the day, before you noticed the issue, You can’t go back and undo and get the time you invested back

I didn’t get this stupid mail and I am getting punished for it.. this is beyond disgusting

I didn’t expect to loose a full day. The rollback is my complaint. I play at night, 3 hours before change and 3 hours after change. I login during the day just to get tribute mostly. But those three hours after change I finished Keystone 5 of UnderSpire (which included new torches x 3 + 1 purchased set of lanterns), almost racked out my PVP Monoliths to get me closer to finishing the last goal.

So, ya, it’s the rollback that cost me

When I claimed the rewards, I thought the amount I got was high, but not unreasonable for getting rid of the entire path system. By the time I saw talk of huge amounts and rollbacks, I had already done several hours of work through various areas of the game.
And the mail wasn’t at reset, right? By the time it arrived, many players had already been at it for some time.
I understand the logic of “it was obvious there would be a rollback, so I didn’t play much” but many of us weren’t that lucky. If I’d known, I would have done less work, and hoped for the best. But it didn’t work that way.
So, it’s not unfair for those in that camp to be angry at losing hours of work, due to the devs messing up compensation, from them messing a system, which they added in a dodgy update (they launched it already saying there was a list of known issues with it), which came days late because they messed that up too. The devs really messed this up, at every level, and that’s the issue, to me. Not when people may or may not have known everything was messed up.

Reset 7am uk time.

I did everything 2 hours.

Mail arrived about 10am.

So in uk we got royslly screwed.

Yeah, so three hours of people’s time, which absolutely nobody can be blamed for. And possibly more, if those claiming the mail early got lower amounts, which it sounds like they did.

Just want to say: I signed up for this forum just to voice my own opinion at what total garbage this rollback was. I don’t care that they want to try to undo the damage of the over-gifting of these gems (and my own received gems was a small enough amount that, while higher than I might have expected in general, seemed fairly reasonable given the entire removal of that legacy path system).

The fact that we were robbed of our entire day of progress is extremely frustrating. There are numerous troops I lost (including at least one legendary, though anecdotally I’m aware of at least one instance of someone losing a mythic roll, and I’m sure there are others). I only recently rejoined playing this game in the past month or so, now I’m thinking I was probably better off staying away.

On the plus side, I was just working out the best way to spend some real money in the game, because I felt like it had been good to me over the years, but there’s no way they’ll ever claw a single cent from me from this point forward unless they can demonstrate an extremely reasonable form of compensation to cover the very real time (and lucky drops) that a huge number of people likely lost because of this.

I honestly can’t think of a worse thing to do to players of a live service game like this than roll back their actual progress. Truly insane.

Been following the forums as a guest, opted to make an account to add another demoralized voice.

Half my (admittedly very small) Guild had cleared at least ten bounty battles when the servers went offline. One of my guild members was very excited about pulling some legendary troops (I warned them not to touch anything from the email because I figured it was sus but I wasn’t expecting the entire day to be lost).

And today my entire Guild is unhappy about lost game-time, and troops. None of us want to redo the bounty battles. And I’m particularly frustrated because of the lost pvp time since I was grinding traitstones with the weekly troop. Losing those traitstones is massively demotivating for me.
I had been planning to buy the library pass, and the next pvp pass. But at this point I don’t want to. And the lack of communication is the bulk of my reason why.

is it? i didn’t get that mail.

i said this in the other thread, but if you buy the 50 and 100 gem torches all week, you should be able to miss a complete day and still finish. at least i have since the revamp.

i just finished today w torches to spare even tho i missed yesterday, but i always go straight for the end and then use extra torches to go back for treaure and sentinel rooms.

otoh, i never try to complete entire underspire.

i bought a book of deeds yesterday it was book of fire deed with 100 goldmarks, i would like that 100 goldmarks back b/c after rollback i did not see it back but lost the book of fire deed, devs you really trying to lose your lower level players by not testing the update first, and for us upper levels or endgamers you keep us so frustrated but we keep giving you more chances. yes you will say you have checked the beta test on updates and dont find anything wrong but then you need to fire that dev in charge of the beta testing. b/c your excuses are not working anymore

I think Kezef’s reply is pretty level-headed and probably the base of what is reasonable.

I am sure most people here have lost hours of their efforts at some point due to either there own mistake (working on an incorrect file) or mistake of a colleague, friend or family member or perhaps due to a network issue, low battery etc. In most cases you didn’t get fired and your only resolution wasn’t to take your bat and ball and go home. Yes, it was a pita, but you recognised the milk was already spilt and just got on and did what you needed to recover as best you could.

Compensation:

  • 60 star stones (missed adv board)
  • 120 dragonite (missed or lost dungeon)
  • 50 Gold Marks (missed citadels etc)
  • Bounty troop and full bounty rewards (recognising effort to do twice or failing to rebuy troop)
  • 25 forge scrolls and Stage 15&16 ToD rewards

Less clear is what to do about:

  • someone who pulled a missing Sentinel in underspire
  • Someone who got a missing dragon from an egg
  • Someone who got a missing troop(s) from a vault
  • Someone who completed a delve Pure Faction 500 run
  • Someone who completed Trial battles and got the starry pet
  • Time spent to amass PvP VP (burning marks) or other rewards (merchant/angel offers)

Since the revamp there are excellent rewards to be had, like books of deeds sometimes. So I keep going as far as I can.

@Namour That is a logical way of trying to handle the compensation. But as a Switch player…they did not understand our situation, and they spat in our face for missing out on free (and even) paid campaign pass rewards for Aravatar’s Skull, The Dread Captains Chest, Mydnight Countdown, and The Labyrinthine Tablet.

Because for the “Catch up and Synch" update, we only got:

50 gem keys, 10 vault keys, 50 diamonds, and 200 chaos shards.

I know that we did not have the newer and more precious resources back then, but people need to calm down. This disaster was roughly a lost day’s worth of work, but there is no way to make everyone happy. Most of these threads will probably have to be closed or merged.

But I get that those RNG rewards are hard to put a price on. I don’t know if they can recover a missing dragon from a dragonite egg if they have your account information. That’s probably one of the worst rewards to rollback. Not to mention all of the micro transactions or shop tiers that were purchased with no in-game rewards and progress. They’re probably drowning in tickets anyway.

My :brown_circle: deed book I got from the PvP shop is lost in the void. And it’s frustrating to have to spend a whole week (or more) to get it back. But I am not going to get out the torches and pitchforks. I just want an official apology…from the people responsible. Not Jeto or Sokun. They are just here for damage control.

@Nimhain @Sirrian Enough is enough.

even wout filling out the map i’ve gotten four books in underspire.

the leftover torches on sunday are used to make sure i get every treasure room and sentinel room visible, and sometimes i have more to explore a bit.

idk how many treasure rooms i miss, i’d guess up to 4, but probably not more than that. i’m fine with that, since normally i get most of them.

i probably should try to fill out the map, but for time/gems for a f2p, i’m content for getting most instead.

esp since atm i need to save gems for dragonite, i’m missing the 6th evil dragon, and everything that unlocks.

and my record w getting dragons i need from eggs is horrendous.

24 or so dragons from the original batch without getting 2 of them, had to wait for them to appear in forge.

so that set me back for the next two sets.

Totally ridiculous.. usually I will spend gems the last couple days to get ahead of some troopmates but now wjat took me 2 energy to get passed a boss has now taken me 10 and I haven’t beaten it yet.. this is why I won’t spend anything on games like this as they dont care about your time.. its money money money.. ive been on everyday for months and now I will not be anymore.. my time is my time not the devs
