List of losses due to rollback

Since the powers running this game usually have a poor understanding of what a proper compensation should look like, let’s collect a list of things lost as part of the rollback:

  • LOTS of hours spent on weekend chores gone, like the dreaded PvP pass. No, we aren’t grateful for the opportunity to slog through it again or miss out on the season rewards, see feedback ignored for a year now.
  • Tower of Doom possibly locking guilds out of paid for event tiers, due to players not being able to recover progress lost in the remaining time
  • Bounty possibly locking players out of paid for event tiers, due to players not being able to recover progress lost in the remaining time
  • Significantly increased cost to complete ongoing Underspire runs, because players now have to buy multiple daily torches at stacking cost instead of spreading them out
  • Time limited mails expired, among others those containing daily rewards
  • Daily Dungeon rewards missed
  • Daily Plunder missed, including currently highly sought star stones
  • Lots of tributes missed, possibly leading to gem shortage to pay for events the next weeks
  • Daily gold marks from PvP missed, possibly even locking out players from the the next gold marks due to how citadel battles affect follow-up days

There’s also the matter of multiple guilds now on the verge of breaking up, or at least giving guild leaders a major headache. The game was already on a constant decline, this latest fiasco is causing another exodus of players. Please don’t nail the coffin shut by issuing an “oopsie, here’s 50 gems to add insult to injury” compensation mail, I believe the expectations for this one are at least on free campaign/season pass level.

disagree on doom event, day is missing for everyone, so no changes competitive-wise

It’s not about the leaderboard. Tower of Doom takes quite a bit more effort than other guild events. With a whole day gone, some guilds will have difficulties to unlock everything again. If it had happened at the start of the week it would have been less critical, right now there’s little time left.

Personal losses like those that got book of deeds in the Underspire or other good rewards else where.

That’s kind of a zero sum game. You get a second chance at the lottery, at the cost of invalidating your first chance. But yeah, I totally understand the feeling. If I had finally found the last missing sentinel after several years of effort, just for it to disappear again, I’d probably be looking into ways of sending a box of turds to the Australian office.

I do not even want to open my deed books in the PvP shop. Finally got the :brown_circle: book I needed, but that’s roughly 600 gold marks worth of nonsense over there. There is no way I am getting that in the mail.

The sad part is that Switch players had nothing to do with this, but had to be taken as collateral damage because the developers messed up so badly.

RIP newer/mid players that got their first Mythic Mimic yesterday.

Another interesting thing Four. If we find the average active player gains yesterday, and measure this in gems only. How many gems are we talking?

Yes, it may be wrong to go with the average active player, due many did a more lot yesterday.
But when it comes to compensations in gems only, what would be a fair amount to give out to players as compensation? Also as many have already mentioned, “time” is also valuable and needs to be measured in this.

3000+ gems ?

I know it will never happen and we are due for the 50 gems. But fun to discuss, nonetheless.

For now, it’s 1,000 gold and 1 glory key, plus 5 gems for some. It’s some kind of macabre joke on players.

Perfect for your Corner thread

EDIT: I didn’t mean that thread is bad comedy. Reading it back it sounds like I said that. I meant this whole scenario is perfect for your corner thread.

True, I feel this thread may need something to lift it’s mood as well.

I don’t think there is a proper way to compensate this with gems. This is rather something you compensate with “features”, something players would not be able to obtain under normal circumstances. Hand out a free campaign pass, put all tarot cards / egg dragons (at standard cost) into the forge for a couple of weeks, remove the paywall around the ancient event weapons and add them to the crafting rotation, stuff like that. It also can’t be measured with gems, and it feels more like a realy apology for what happened.

That’s fair.

I don’t think that was intentional, it’s just perfectly poor timing. No idea what caused that mail, I haven’t seen it before. Maybe it’s some kind of “returning player” mechanism, everybody gets it after not logging in for a whole day?

Also worth a mention those that lost the pet’s they finally found. Oh well, list could go on and on, there is so many scenarios here that brain can go totally bonkers by thining too much of it.

Don’t forget pet progress if you or your guild mates got a pet gnome and you played the pet event that progress is wiped out, I always play the pet event so that means missing food, coins and pets.

By losing a day’s progress it means Bounty, Tower, PVP is one day shorter. So if you spent money for the PVP event you not only lost a days worth of effort but the event is also one day less. If you average getting 10k a day on PVP you need to do a day doing 20k.

They should have extended events by one day even if there is overlap or give us half the rewards. We can live with one day of having both Tower and Boss guild event on Monday. Also there is no event under games so no reason not to extend Bounty by a day.

Add to list lost real money purchasing Citadel Sigils, lost time playing battles, lost Monolith sigils and talismans, lost Citadel leaderboard progress which may result in loss of Gold Mark rewards.

It wasn’t gnome weekend or guild wars or anything special so look on the bright side folks it could be worse. Try and stay positive. They usually do good on fixing things.

I knew a rollback was coming so I didn’t play.

If it’s too good to be true it must be.

But complain all you want everyone. I understand your frustrations.

However I’m not. I have faith in the dev team to make this right. I’m just on strike playing at the moment.

So me I lost nothing as I didnt even kill a hundred troops and usually I barely collect 3 to 5 tribute.
I just hope they fix this mess properly.

Carry on.

It’s the weekend. Nothing will be corrected until after.
