well that at least gives me hope that they might still be considering what to give to those who actually bought these headstarts. 20 Shiny keys as an apology for the nerf in general is fine, i guess, still need a decent troop that it would be worth using them on though.
The thing is, it didnāt go to everyone. This isnāt a general āsorry for the nerf, here is some compensationā mail. If you had zero of the nerfed troops at any shiny level, you didnāt get the memo. At least my alt account that didnāt have them at any shiny level (not for the lack of trying, just bad luck with pulling the right tokens and not too many keys available, because for a long while that account was in a guild that didnāt finish events) didnāt get a single key. Or the message.
ok, so then a general sorry for the nerf, for those that had it at a shiny level in general i guess. Still is not compensation for those that actually spent money on them, which i would hope will be something significantly more substantial.
I, for one, would be perfectly fine if the devs implemented dupe-protection for the gem/cosmic dragons so we cant get more than 4 of of them in lieu of a refund though
Thatās exactly what I was about to post. If you want to talk about āruining the pvp experience for the player baseā, empowered converters and doomed books have turned GW into a joke.
ok now I know why everyone is complaining. ItĀ“s my first journey sinceā¦a long time ago. Level 358 now with 10,333 miles travelled. I donĀ“t know how to reach 20.000 ever. If I had no āAmarokā troop I would kill nobody
At level 61 I could actually win at some things with hippolotya, win pet rescues, do level 5 explores. Now I canāt. How did looping teams hurt new players ? From everything that Iāve read on the in game forum, the larger issue was one of veterans not wanting newer players to succeed. 001 is full of comments from vets about us crying and not wanting to put in the work. Iām willing to play and earn things but Iām a single mother with a job and two teenagers. I canāt afford to buy success and I canāt play for hours on end. The troops that you balanced unbalanced the game for many of us. Btw, you fixed cosmic dragons which made the vets exstatic. At level 61 how long do you think itāll be for that fix to help me ?
This is so obvious that there can only be one explanation: it is an intended paywall, working as intended. They figure that if a newbie isnāt paying up to get past that roadblock, heāll probably never pay anything so itād just be more āprofitableā to chase him off.
Like I said elsewhere, Iām a relatively new player myself. I can assure you, it was not easy at all to get pathfinder troops when I started, let alone in halfway useful teams. It was a lot easier to get the underworld troops. I also didnāt see them that often in PvP. The only reason there would be more Pathfinders now, is because the devs spammed pathfinder events, but that also means itās been easier for all new players to get hold of such teams themselves, and taking them away makes everything in the game harder for them, including pvp. If itās really such an issue, which I doubt, why not just gate PvP until people can reasonably be expected to have the resources to assemble an effective team, have the AI create defences for lower levels (hardly a challenge since thatās what it does outside central spire anyway), or teach low level players that picking the easiest opponent is the best strategy, if they are hell-bent on always winning?
LMAO, so the shiny stuff going to people who never bought them but were lucky is a bug?
Anyway, my guild rarely gets to any shiny reward level, thereās no way Iām buying stuff thatās otherwise gated to quitting my guild, and I got nothing. With this nerf, as I said before, the lower level players and guilds that accept them, are even less likely to hit shiny rewards. Itās beyond hilarious, this is being sold as āhelping new playersā, when journey troops help new players specifically.
Iām happy with the change, also with 20 free shiny keys. Next rebalance the doom weapon books with a small nerf like changing the number from 6 created gems to 5 for each matched enemy troop color.
We want you to talk about THIS Journey event. Itās a terrible experience for just about everyone. Lower level players are hitting a brick wall, because they no longer have a looping damage dealer to cope with battle scaling. Higher level players are getting docked a significant part of their score, because the new circumstances just donāt allow fights to get completed in 10 turns. And it will keep getting worse the next days, because battles keep getting more challenging. This all sums up having to PAY and PLAY a LOT more, just to receive the SAME rewards as previously.
Please, PLEASE address this issue before disappearing into the weekend. Significantly lower the reward thresholds. Or announce that shop tier purchases will get refunded. Or announce that everybody who participated will get sent all the rewards, no matter how far they got. Just do SOMETHING to lower the pain.
Planning some major Journey overhaul in a month is well and fine, players just arenāt really interested in that right now while they keep getting punished.
Donāt fall for this again. They said the same last week, they brushed off all feedback and said we are changing the event to coincide with the troop nerfs so not to worry. Then we gotā¦ 2 levels off of the boss troops.
You need to stop participating in these predatory events then theyāll get their āoverwhelming evidenceā that they need.
Kafka, could you at least spare us of the utter nonsense about care for newer players being the reason for the nerf? (And, if anybody buys it as even plausible truth, people, I have a bridge Iām willing to sell and I might know one or two Nigerian princes I can introduce you to.) Do you really expect us (well, except those so blinded with pathfinder hatred that theyād swallow anything you throw at them) to believe that you care for new players after new player unfriendly world quests, after changing kingdom challenges to new player unfriendly kingdom trials, after putting biggest rip-off deal (that only new players without better guidance might purchase) of ingots in daily/arena offers, to name just a few?
Whatever the reason was, it had absolutely nothing to do with wanting to help newer players.
Of course, you wonāt shed a light on your methodology or sources for the āoverwhelming evidenceā of pathfinders making newer players miserable, will you? Unfortunately, I can only operate with real world evidence - over the years Iāve seen a fair share of newer players come and go through our guild family and precisely none (0, zero, zilch, zip, nada) of them has claimed that pathfinders are the bane of their existence and ruin the game for them. So, thereās that.
As Iāve already said before, Iām not against balance changes IF they are done properly. What you did just now is not that and with suspicion I look anybody who praises your savage butchery as a job well done. Instead of āmore suitable for both game modesā the troops you toyed with are suitable for none.
Oh, anyhow, might you kindly explain what good we get RIGHT NOW from the possible future tweaks you so happily promise us? You know quite well yourself that your priorities change lightning fast and things you said youād do get thrown wayside and end up not even having looked for several years.
Can I just throw this out there.
The Devs, will have data, on when players left, and what the last thing they did before they left was.
So if a lot left, after theyād fought a PvP against a journey team. If they quit then never came back.
If theyve got this data, which Iām sure is highly probable.
Then they surely have to act on this data.
