The “Season of Renewal” Holiday Event which introduced the Forest of Thorns Legendary troop, Wisterina, ran from 27th April to 10th May 2026. The event finished 13 weeks ago.
Therefore, Wisterina should have been in Chests for at least a month, but I’ve not yet received a copy on top of the 3 copies I purchased from the event.
Is Wisterina in Chests now? In particular, is Wisterina in Forest of Thorns Event Chests this week?
If not, please change this to a bug report.
The thing is, for late game players, Event Keys are only useful for targetting Legendary and Mythic troops, including the Holiday Event Legendaries. We find plenty of Epics just by opening our usual chests. Therefore, it’s important for those troops to be added to Chests before the next time their Kingdom comes around.
If you don’t add Wisterina to Event Chests this week, we’ll have no chance to target her (and no reason to use any Event Keys) for at least 6 months. This seems like a strange distortion in the game’s economy.
The next Holiday Legendary to be released was from Merlantis. Please make sure Ipanema reaches Chests before the kingdom comes up for a weekly event (currently not scheduled before mid-December).
More importantly, I doubt you want to waste time on these kinds of posts yet again (this is not the first time we’ve raised this problem). Please make a decision regarding Holiday Legendary availability in Chests, tell us what it is, and insert it into your processes so no-one has to think about this again!
We have made any post stating she was added to the chests.
But these holiday troops are not ones we share a set release schedule for, or at least in all the most recent holiday event blogs, they do not mention any expected release into chests. I chased this up with the team, cos yeah, it’s been 3 months since the event aended and she is on the way along with Ipanema.
They will also be in normal chests, so there is a chance to earn them outside of their Kingdom event weeks.
My key point is that you’d save everyone a lot of time and stress (including yourselves) if you DID decide on (and communicate) a fixed schedule for releasing Holiday Legendary troops. I can’t understand why you’d push back on this.
In a potentially huge strike of irony, Ipanema dropped for me from a Gem Chest today, topping me up to the 4 Mythic copies I’m seeking.
I repeat my question: is Wisterina in Event Chests now? If not, why on Earth not?!
I’m just sharing the info I was given. Holiday troops have an ETA of 2-3 months after the event ends. Which appears to match the last mention of a release window for holiday troops
The above being from 2023 and the last mention of a release window, whereas the Lost Souls of Carmina event post is from 2022 when we first introduced Holiday events
I don’t write the blogs, so I can’t confirm if no longer including that information was intentional to allow the team some wiggle room, as from my understanding those troops are manually added into the chest pool, or just over time as the template for the holiday blog was changed, it was removed and just someone forgot to add it back in. Which I think it more likely with how the blogs have changed over the years and transitions between who is responsible for updating the blogs
Again, i looks like it hasn’t been mentioned in a Holiday blog since 2024-2023 (the one I quoted above)
But it’s something I have mentioned to the Production team, as all the other blogs make mention of when these special troops are expected to released, and to have it included again.
Also, as for Ipanema when I asked about the holiday troops yesterday, it seemed to me that she wasn’t yet in chests and was soon to be added. So, I have asked the team about it again, since you got it in a Glory chest. it looks like there was an issue with how she was set up, so she went out earlier than intended and I have been assured this has since been resolved.. but myself and Gman have some reminders now set for the Prod team to double check in future
Thank you, @Jeto. I hope the devs can understand my logic regarding including a predetermined and automatic release delay in these troops, so they don’t waste everyone’s time in the future.
You still haven’t actually answered the question, though:
Is Wisterina in Event Chests now, and will she be before the end of the week?
Holiday event troops seem to be forgotten too often.
Perhaps it would be easier to all involved to but the troop in chests immediately after the holiday event.
I’d even release them right away, along with the holiday event. The holiday event troop isn’t in sync with kingdom events, so you can’t use event keys to fish for it. And most players are only interested in buying the power orb anyway. The current handling feels like someone proposed it as April Fools joke without realising it might be taken seriously.
One of the luxuries of a small dev team should be it’s easier to communicate. Less folks means less falls between the cracks. But maybe holiday event troops chest releases are RNG based?
