Information about bans

Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it seems to me that they are messing with Vault events because they don’t want us to go crazy on getting all of the new orbs. On the other hand, offering us vault events has usually been a way to appease us when we are pissed about something. It may not make us put the pitchforks and torches away; we just wouldn’t hold them as high and shake them as vigorously.

I’m quite sure it got switched much earlier. It couldn’t be seen with the events command of the bot, the event list for December was too large for it to show up. I frequently visit the event spoilers on Tarans as input for our own guild event calendar, it was visible there.

Interesting, I remember looking at event spoilers a day or two before bans came in and it was still there…but maybe it’s memory playing tricks - no way to find that out anymore.

I remembered that someone in my guild had mentioned the Vault event being replaced by Arena.
Checked our PSN guild chat, it was on December 15th. Could have happened before this though.

Thanks. Adjusted my initial post.

Volunteering as in somehow allowing the banned players to get back into the game, as well as cleaning up the worst side effects of the ban. It’s not enough to plug the broken pipe, someone also has to haul all the water out of the basement, possibly before too many complain about it. If you’ve ever been there, good luck grabbing hold of anyone to help out.

Technically the 24/7/365 services were still up and running. And some foot soldier was available. Unfortunately the ban bot required special authorizations, with the chief in command not available in any
way to hand out those authorizations. Unloading a shotgun into the servers might have sped things up, because then services would have been down. It looks like they attempted some less irreversible solutions first.

I was thinking guinea pigs.

I didn’t mean it particularly during this christmas weekend. Still nothing too special, other Jobs also have to go on and it is possible. With remote access it is even easier for most things that can happen if not the whole building is on fire. But my thought process was more like this, because seemingly every weekend no one can be reached:

exactly like this.

And therein lies the rub.

Still I’d like to know who authorized the early compensations (100 gems) to the first unbanned players. Can a peon do that?

Well, handing out the keys to the kingdom to every Homer Simpson around probably wouldn’t work out better. Especially since there seem to be a lot of Homer Simpsons working at Infinity Plus Two.

That was someone working on individual tickets, there seems to be some degree of freedom on how they can be processed. In my experience the support team is doing a very good job.

It’s good that this topic is still fresh, because I have a feeling a bunch more people are about to get banned for yet another mistake that this paltry company has made.

They can’t ban the whole player base because I’m sure many people will collect the things they’ve been offered by the mistake of some dev.

They didn’t ban people who used the forge bug to craft the items that were supposed to be one craft only a 2nd time, either.

Watch them try and consider it though.

They could. But banning all the players who are willing to pay for the campaign doesn’t sound like a good idea.

That would be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

This issue highlights why they should have 24/7 support (besides of better quality control).

Let me be clear, I 100% agree with you, banning people for this would be suicide, but. Look at how this company has conducted themselves over the past year. They will try and put this on the players. If they make an announcement and wholesale admit fault with no repercussions for any players, I will eat my keyboard.

Yeah, I know what you mean…

They can’t say players should have known this was not intentional because it’s such a huge blunder, and many will not think about whether or not it’s okay to play and collect the rewards.

But I also wouldn’t put it past them.

Just trying to send some “don’t do it” energy out there.

Well, they are implementing a smashing Ban Bot. So smashing it smashed the playerbase.

The need of such a bot is a mystery, unless they want to get rid of some workforce, but in this case it seems the Bot is not out.

The devs aren’t out either, but likely it’s past working hours Down Under.

I actually keep a second clock on my phone set to Melbourne time for precisely this reason.

I actually thought I’d somehow forgotten to do the tasks this week and started doing them over before I realized.

I did the same thing. Glad I’m not the only one. :joy:

Ok, this has gone on long enough, the silence from devs doesnt help, lets just end this now, make everyone happy and all this will go away and all will be forgiven.

Compensate us properly for what happened.

500 vault keys
100 Epic vault keys.

Ill forgive u, continue to support u and continue to put real money into your game.

All good?
