Immortal Souls Gnome

Now that it is Vault weekend I remember I wanted to ask if an Immortal Souls Gnome will be added? Will be so exciting to have a new Gnome!

Oh, is the topic of things that will never happen?

How about adding a library gnome that drop books. :relieved:

Let’s say for the sake of argument that the developers actually did this.

The practical question would be thus: How often would one actually show up, in light of the number of different gnomes that already exist? And then there’s this: How many Immortal Souls would it actually drop, both in an ordinary circumstance and the (much) lesser amount that would show during a Gnome-A-Palooza?

It sounds great in theory, but it probably has zero practical impact. It would probably be about as common as a Dragonite Gnome or a Cursed Runes Gnome, neither of which appears all that often or drops very much. And it would drop so few Immortal Souls in an ordinary circumstance that it wouldn’t be worth it unless you had a bazillion hours to hunt for them. (And probably 1-2 souls during a GaP.)

Let the programmers use their time to actually try and fix bugs instead.

It’s about one gnome per 1500 battles or one gnome per 1200 battles respectively, if I look at my little gnome counting note.

Never cared about how many cursed runes they give, but dragonite so far is about 36 per gnome (with 20 being the minimal possible drop). Quite impractical, as you say.

Not only how many immortal souls would you get, but there is a 1/11 (and will get worse) chance of actually getting souls for the troop you want. It could be guaranteed to drop souls for the immortal for that season but then you would never be able to catch up for older immortals.

Definitely don’t need to dilute the gnome pool further at this point

You sound like one of those players who does GOW as a job and only care about progress. Just buy your books and be done. Having an Immortal Soul gnome will be fun. The Dragonite gnome was in fact quite helpful to me too.

So there is a small chance of getting souls but you prefer not to have a chance to get some more with a gnome?

There’s a more elegant way to do this. Instead of adding a new gnome, add a small chance for a few immortal souls to the Soul Gnome loot pool. Low effort, and it makes the Soul Gnome something possibly worth seeing again for all those players that no longer need regular souls.

Not that it would ever get implemented. To quote Sirrian out of context, “Gems of War is not THAT type of game”.

how about they do something, anything to update available gnomes for vault keys. Even possibly adding an obviously rare immortal soul or burning chest key gnome

Not sure how elegant this is, but I like it.

We already have too many gnomes diluting the pool. But if they want to retire the ingot gnomes and do this instead, I’d be on board.

You’ve made me feel like :face_holding_back_tears: a hope got born. Even a tiny chance to get a tiny amount of burning souls would make the Soul gnome a Superstar! Beautiful move

So you prefer to cancel out new super useful gnomes and a bigger variety to defend the smaller pool of old gnomes with so much gnomes nobody (excluding new players) needs anymore? Interesting choice.

So you prefer to focus on which gnome I randomly chose to substitute, rather than the point, which was adding a gnome will dilute the pool. Interesting choice.

Uhm, no? with “new super useful gnome” i meant the suggested immortal soul gnome, not the gnome you picked, because… it’s not even new. My whole post was about your second point and i even asked you about your preference to defend a smaller pool = i was talking about your anti dilute opinion.

Look, I’m not here to p*ss anyone off or to be mean, but would you really be against new gnomes that drop new stuff that most of the players needs just to protect the size of a drop pool? I would rather prefer new stuff instead of another bunch of glory, souls, ingots, runes i had more than enough for a lifetime. I would even prefer to met other gnomes a bit fewer.

Yip I am all for some change and variety…which is also why the new PVP is refreshing compared to the old.

Ok, then let me try to clarify. My issue is the rare gnomes (dragonite?) are already rare and a lot of people still need dragonite. Adding more gnomes means making the already rare gnomes, even rarer. It would actually be extra bad because we know they would make immortal soul gnomes rare to directly compete.

So… first roll to see if we get a gnome, then roll again to see what gnome. oh we got lucky and got a unicorn gnome! Oh whomp whomp, not the one we want. Now if they dropped some dryer lint gnomes from the pool and adjusted the drop rates of the relevant gnomes to where we aren’t doubling our grind time just to get a miniscule fraction of what we need? Sure, sign me up.

Clarifying further (just to avoid this going back and forth till the end of time)… Lets says existing rare gnome pops once every 100 gnomes. If we add another, then each now pops roughly once every 200 gnomes. I’m saying get rid of a more common gnome so that the older rare gnome AND the newer one can stay at one in 100. (Numbers completely made up for illustration.)

namaste

I liked your idea but we both know how long it took them to add the dragonite gnomes and untill the profit there making from people buying season passes levels off, which is gonna be roughly four or five seasons when people have maxed out all the immortals weve been given so far , so my guess is at least a year, then maybe theyll add them.
Maybe they should add forge scrolls to ingot gnomes too to keep them relevant. If we keep banging the drum maybe the devs will hear.

Why shoukl rare gnomes become rarer? It started with the Cursed runes gnome and since the Dragonite gnome was added I actually get MORE Cursed runes gnomes than before. Also they can reduce the appearance of the souls and ingot gnomes - and increase others.

 :woman_facepalming:

I said don’t make the rare gnomes more rare and said how they could add a new rare gnome without making the rare gnomes more rare.

And you say…

I give up.
