Hoard Mimic and Sentinels

Hello! I realize this topic is a bit over complained about, but I searched “Hoard Mimic” before posting and only three results came up, none seeming to discuss the lack of a drop rate for mimic encounters in explore, let alone the odds of completing “Lord of the Hoard”. I decided last minute to include Underspire Sentinels while I’m at it. I wish the devs would either have another event for the Hoard Mimic or just add it to the forge already, and I have not got any sentinel troops in the Underspire in over a year. I only have one to add insult to injury… Can we please add these things to upcoming QoL updates? Please?!

Something about this in the future, hopefully? Not sure about public drop rates though, I’d love to see those.

Has there been any mention of the Hoard Mimic that you are aware of?

Sentinels and Hoard Mimic are completely different issues (in my view)…

Hoard Mimics you can pretty much guarantee if u play enough, and it doesn’t cost u gems and dupes are not an issue —> get a kingdom (eg Urskaya or Wild Plains) to level 16 and then do Explore level 12 over and over. If you do this for a few hours/day you’ll likely have the Hoard Mimic in a month or two. (I’ve got 13 of them).

Sentinels are different, the drop rate is very low, you are quite limited in how many attempts you can make (limited by the weekly underspire map), there is no dupe protection and it costs a boat-load of gems.

TLDR - you can brute-force the Hoard Mimic.

I encounter the Hoard Mimic but never get a copy of it. TBH, (as I mentioned) the Sentinels were a bit of an after thought.

I disagree. I play A LOT and have been hunting Hoard Mimic since the day it was released. Still haven’t found it. I play E12 only (for medals and previously hoping for HM) when my dailies/weeklies are done.
I play Underspire to the final boss every week, I have all but one Sentinel.

I’m confused as to what you are disagreeing with…

The comment above your comment. The one I replied to.

Oh! :joy: Wasn’t paying very much attention, was I? I apologize!:victory_hand:

Theoretically Namour has a point , to get Hoard Mimic you can play hours and hours a day ( some play 24 hours lol ) , but for the sentinels you can only play half an hour a day . So for very active players it’s easier to find that mimic .

I consider myself a “very active” player. I had 480 trophies by Tuesday… I have played lvl12 explore for hrs on end and not even had one regular mimic encounter, let alone a hoard mimic…

I think you have a .1% chance of getting the Hoard Mimic trophy after every boss chest opened in explore. You can get it from any level of explore battle, but explore 12 is the fastest way to keep playing the slot machine.

It’s just that when you want something from this game, and you are actively thinking about it, you are going to be disappointed. My personal experience with random deed books in the PvP shop has proven this so much, that I don’t even feel like collecting or using gold marks anymore.:man_facepalming:

I gave up trying to get the hoard mimic after a while, having seen how low the odds were (three levels of RNG, all of which are terrible odds) and how bad the troop was. I do autoplay a lot of explore, though, so I did eventually get lucky and get the troop. Since then, I’ve got about 7 or 8 more copies, none of which meant anything and everything after the 4th copy only meant free souls. The odds of getting it suck, and it’s annoying to have a trophy/achievement tied to that, but otherwise the troop doesn’t matter so it’s not such a big deal.
As for the sentinels, I play underspire every week, but don’t buy torches every week (only when I have a good enough team to be worth using), and I finally got my first sentinel a week or two ago. The odds suck, and not being able to play more battles to increase the odds is even worse (you’d need to obtain more torches and find the battles you want, which are uncommon enough to be annoying), but the sentinels are more useful than the hoard mimic, so there is more incentive to try and get them. I’m not focusing on them any more than I focused on the hoard mimic, but the underspire main rewards are worth going after, and if I have leftover torches to look for sentinels, why not? If I get them, cool. If not, oh well. But I won’t pay for an increased chance to get them, like buying more torches specifically to look for them. They aren’t worth it. So, I might never finish collecting them all.

I meant that the more active you are, the better your chances of finding the Hoard Mimic. But even being super active doesn’t help you find sentinels, because you’re limited to about half an hour a day. So the more active you are, the greater the difference in chances of finding a mimic compared to a sentinel. That’s pure math. But I understand that both are bad.

I was referring only to mimics there. I understand the situation with the sentinels.

Both “a LOT” and “when my daily/weeklies are done” are quite vague quantities, and may be a lot for you, but not a lot for brute-force.

I’m not saying your RNG hasn’t been bad, just that you can brute-force a Hoard Mimic.

As per my earlier comment, I believe it is highly likely that most people would get a Hoard Mimic in 1 to 2 months if:

  • they get Urskaya or Wild Plains to Lv16
  • Aside from all other tasks, they play E12 in their Lv16 Urskaya or Wild Plains Kingdom, for 4 hrs/day
  • To ensure their focus is on the E12 playing, the team should be earning >50 tokens/hour (excluding the 2x and 5x from Mimic bonuses)

If you earn leas than 50 tokens/hr, your team or playstyle is inefficient and you may not be playing ‘as much’ as you think you are.

Here is the rough maths behind the above statement.

If u earn 50 tokens/hr, at 2.5 per E12 level Mythic Boss battle, that’s 20 chances per hour.

In 4hrs, that’s 80 chances. In one month, that’s 2,400 chances.

The chance, as originally explained by devs or determined through community data (I cannot remember which), was:

  • 10% chance of Mimic Battle
  • 10% chance that a Mimic Battle leads to a Hoard Mimic Battle
  • 10% chance that a Hoard Mimic Battle rewards a Hoard Mimic

So, if you have ‘normal’ RNG, 1,000 chances should reward you with a Hoard Mimic. If you have bad RNG, this may mean u need as much as 3,000 to 5,000 chances.

Normal RNG, then this strategy should reward a Hoard Mimic in 12-13 days, bad RNG and you might have to go as much as 2 months. Very bad RNG…can mean longer, but it can still be done by brute-force.

Why there? Just that you didn’t explain it. I assume the enemies have low health/armour, or something.

I didn’t realize explore lvl 12 had to happen in a specific kingdom in order to better the odds of landing the hoard mimic. I run Holy St. Astra, two Tesla and Leprechaun with 3 medals of guaard so my battles go SUPER quickly. I just wasn’t aware I needed to limit my hunt to two specific kingdoms. Thank you for the information!:victory_hand:

There are other kingdoms that are good also, depending on your attack team.

However, many of the other kingdoms have the odd troop which may summon upon death, get barriers, can web your team, have spell damage reduction, have skull damage reduction, are immune to certain status effects or as you say may have higher health or armour stats etc.

Depending on which attack team you are using, it may change which Kingdoms are efficient. But generally, Urskaya and Wild Plains are two of the less painful kingdoms to do E12 in currently.

Of course, when it is a Week of Urskaya or Wild Plains, then go elsewhere as the stat boosts will slow you down. Sometimes even the troop type bonus applying during a week (e.g. Beast) may force you to switch which kingdom.
