Hoard Mimic and Sentinels

These two kingdoms do not have better odds than any of the others, however, depending on your attack team, you may find that you can complete more battles per hour at these two kingdoms, which does increase your overall chances compared to battling at other kingdoms.

I think there may be quicker teams than your St Astra, Tesla, Tesla, Lep team, depending on the troops you have access to. However, I suggest you run a test for 60 mins ensuring to log how many tokens you get awarded (excluding the 2x and 5x bonus tokens from any Mimic and HM battles). If you are below 45, then there are faster options.

I have all but 8 troops: one being that hoard mimic, and five are sentinels. :joy:

Your strategy isn’t bad, but if you really want to hunt for Hoard Mimic, there are much better strategies. I assume you have Stella or Chrys, so you can build much faster one-shot teams. And then play only E9 or E10 in Wild plains, and you’ll double your chances. Of course, it has the disadvantage that you’ll have inferior tokens, but every advantage has its disadvantage, of course.

Thanks for the info. Rest assured, I know what I’m doing. I have had some of the best players, on PC, as mentors and guild mates. I have a great team for E12 and can get through them very, very fast.

Not getting Hoard Mimic is a pure RNG nightmare. Sentinels are as well. Maybe the math supports getting HM more easily, but RNG has shown that is not the case. For me anyway.

I had all troops at one point. Until HM. Now I’m only missing HM, one sentinel, and PvP mythics. I gave up on completion and that is one more reason the game has lost some of its shine for me lately.

Edit:
Not sure you mean by tokens.
My kingdoms are all nearly maxed. Just need some books to finish a few of them off.
I know it’s hard to fathom, but RNG. It’s RNG. Maybe most people can brute force to get HM, it didn’t work for me. On 2 accounts.

These are tokens.

I’d not seen anyone else mention this in this thread but as someone who has multiple hoard mimics and does a lot of E12 grinding to get tokens I thought I’d share my strategy.

Have as many kingdoms to level 16 for the 10% bonus mythstones and then always pick a kingdom on the map that has the orange lantern for the 20% mythstone bonus. This maximises the number of boss battles you can encounter.

I can’t remember if the bonus mythstone is additive so you get 30% bonus or not.

I also have Chrys, so use a team of Chrys, 2x Pharaoh Khafru, Essencia and can complete battles in 2 turns.

Similar to my strategy! I always go for the orange lanterns as well! I however, do not have Chrys yet. I have all the dragons, but need all three weapons and enough dragonite for Chrys herself.:victory_hand:

Before the gems dragons, I would run a team of Flammifier, Zuul, Fist Of Zorn, Lep with Slayer class fully levelled for triple skull damage on burning enemies. It would complete battles in about 15 seconds.

I have a video where I managed to cast Zuul and it killed the entire enemy team with one go with skull cascades.

I still use it occasionly for kingdoms that can have troops with submerge (Merlantis) or you could run a team with a hero and Mechanist class to dispel the submerge.

I remeber the first weeks after Hoard Mimic was released - people got it like apples falling from trees. Then something changed, and I think something changed even again to make it harder to get.

I did not play much explore when it first came to the game, I was one of those that got Hoard Mimic later on, but only saw it once.

I haven’t noticed any difference. I seem to be getting a Hoard Mimic like every other month, give or take a bit. I guess the main trick is to convince yourself you are farming E12 for high rarity medals, then the drop rate for Hoard Mimic suddenly goes up a lot.

Its back then when guildmates got 4 hoard mimics first weekend.

Yeah this idea is just flat out wrong.

You could get lucky and get the Hoard Mimic trying for it a few hours a day for a month or two. I personally have dedicated north of 400 hours to getting it, and I’m no closer now than when I started. I have gotten the Hoard Mimic battle 13 or 14 times in total, but no card.

Theroetically, you could do explore 12 for 100,000 hours and never see it. Every time you do an explore 12 it’s roughly 1/1000 chance. There is no pity system.

Also for the people saying they have multiple copies of the card, my guild leader does too. He got 3 in the first month or 2 it was out and hasn’t gotten one since. They definitely nerfed it at some point and they are refusing it to address it/fix it because they leverage the achievement system to force people to keep playing if they care about the 100%.

Riddle ne this, riddler…
From about the inception of the thing until some time later (March 2022 - April 2024 or, let’s assume 25 months) I tracked items and found 12 Hoard Mimics inside of 16 000 boss chests. Then I stopped; but - now, another about 17 months later, my Hoard Mimic count is

or roughly a critter every six weeks. Granted, I didn’t exactly count the number of boss chests they came from but it’s pretty safe to assume boss chests coming at about the same rate as before (or slightly higher since we got Cosmic Dragons sometime and sped explore up a bit). General gist is quite clear.

Not to say that the achievement isn’t frustrating randomfest and might call for tweaking, but to carelessly throw around bold claims suggesting - as usual, without a single somewhat firm shred of anything to back it up - dark dealing behind the scenes is equally…unsmart, let’s say.

What dark dealing am I suggesting? I don’t understand your point. Many people have said that they were much easier to obtain right after they were added into the game. This isn’t my personal experience, I’m relying on what many other people who have 10,000+ hours into this game are telling me. I barely have over 2000 myself.

You personal experience may differ from theirs and I never suggested that it didn’t. I am going with what the majority of people who have multiple copies of the card have told me. I appreciate your input on what you’ve experienced as well.

As far as using the achievement system to keep people playing for long periods of time, they absolutely do that here. This game is notorious in the PS achievement hunting community as “do not touch” mainly because of this one achievement. They added an achievement awhile back that required you to get 5 Immortals to rank 10 in PvP. There’s no way you could do that without spending real $ or playing for a very long time. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t each PvP season 11 weeks so 5 immortals at rank 10 would take a year? I just recently got that achievement and had to spend hours on PvP weekly for a very long time until I got it without spending any money.

The Hoard Mimic is not a great card. They could do alot of things to help make it easier for people to obtain it if they wanted. They could put it in the Forge for an obscene amount of resources and that would still be better than doing nothing at all. If there wasn’t an achievement tied to it, I wouldn’t care at all.

It is true that many players do more PVP battles (since the gold marks) than a few years ago and that they do far fewer explore battles than before. That could well be the reason why fewer Hoard Mimic are found. I myself play little PVP (except for the first weeks of a cycle, then I do a lot of PVP) So I usually play explore E9/E10 and E1 and I still find at least one Hoard Mimic every month. (counter is at 49 now) I should add that I play an average of 5 to 6 hours of explore per day.

Yeah. That was sucky. Just managed to finish it at the start of this month, myself, and it took playing a lot of PvP. Didn’t spend anything either, because it wasn’t worth it and I’m not looking to encourage them to put this sort of thing in the game.
But, it’s more than just needing to play for a long time, you also need RNG to bless you, because if you’re not throwing money at it, then you need to rely mostly on burning chests to give immortal souls AND for those souls to be for the same immortals. If you get unlucky and don’t get many souls, and they’re all for different immortals, you could wind up with all your immortals slowly getting to level 9 then sticking there as you level up the next ones that come out. Given we get two new ones each season, it could take years even if you DO play a lot.
Which makes it doubly sucky as a target.
And even if you try to target specific immortals with epic burning chests, it costs more, you get less and there’s still a choice of 3 immortals you can get, so it’s not that much help, necessarily.
