Guild wars

Will we remind again this kingdom restriction is the freaking worst thing ever making whole event unplayable? I don’t care my enemies as unable to play as me, I wanna have fun with this, not overcome the odds every. freaking. turn. against. elementalist.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad.

Wouldn’t waste your time asking. The devs have proven time and time again they dont care about feedback regarding pvp being reset to zero and this guild wars nonsense. All they care about is selling their passes and medallions

If the battles are made easy for you, they’ll be easy for your opponents too. Easy 5-0 all round for both guilds doesn’t make for a good contest IMO.

Better to have challenging battles for everyone rather than easy, then those who cope best with challenge win, rather than little differences in bonus points in 5-0 runs determining the winner.

Since new GW began, my win rate has been higher than 90%, doesn’t seem unplayable to me.

I need just not aim for the paragon battle at all, as it is already lost before trying.

The guild wars remake is such trash. When kingdoms, like this one, don’t even have all the mana colors available in a weapon selections. It is very difficult to synergize a team to rival the defenses that get every advantage in a battle. Nothing is fun about this. Nothing.

Guild Wars is kind of a mess. Only having color restrictions probably makes it too easy, but most kingdom restrictions make it too hard. How do we balance it?

Removing the weapon restriction would help, but then everyone would use Wand if Stars, like they do all the time, so I don’t know how I feel about that.

But I had an idea. What if people could choose restrictions for Guild Wars a lot like how we vote for PvP restrictions? Each individual could make Guild Wars as hard or easy as they want. Obviously, the more restrictions you would set, the more rewards you would get, but that could motivate players to open up their minds and become better players. Or people could just take it easy and move on with their life. No need to get out the torches and pitch forks.

actually a decent solution would be picking out of 2 kingdoms at least so one fills out gaps into another one. Colors are not gonna help as we all have imbalanced staff of every color available. But having at least SOME non-RNG options would rather help.

Not allowing defenses to use the best troops in the game while we have to use crap is a start

They really need to never do a kingdom restriction again.

This is absolute misery.

Lol at you allowing this devs. Fix your game. You literally have to get lucky to beat that team with this faction

I beat it the second time but only because I got a perfect start

If I could impose a few defensive changes by fiat, I’d do the following two things:

  • Defenses must have four unique troops, much as they were obliged to do in the “old” Guild Wars if you were pursuing maximum scoring. None of this double/triple Takshaka stuff, none of this double-Beetrix stuff. (Both of which wrecked my offensive teams today, so I’m feeling a little salty about that.)
  • To build on the previous bullet point? The defense must satisfy the “4 unique XXX” troops, where “XXX” is the restriction for the defensive location in question. I find it wearisome to fight the same small number of Hero classes every War, especially as they tend to use the same small handful of weapon selections.

And if I’m going further than that? I’d broaden out the defensive selections a little bit. Instead of the same handful of static defensive maps, I’d introduce more “random” into things. Instead of just the same double-handful of defensive regions with their Class-type restrictions, ones that the top guilds have undoubtedly brainstormed “perfect” defense setups for? How about increasing the number of potential defenses. Maybe we get some kingdom-based defense restrictions instead. Maybe we get some color-type restrictions instead.

Anything to differentiate Wars a little better. Much like I’d like to see more differentiation in the broader PvP than the same double-handful of restrictions that get voted in every single week. (Or so it seems.)

….

I mean, for all I care? Guild Wars can go away, because it’s THE single least favorite game mode GoW throws at me these days.

While the rewards are better nowadays and also GWs looks better, gameplay in the old set-up was much better. Why is it so hard to just mix it up and make GWs a little more similar to old days while fixing the bad parts?! There’s plenty of input by now after all these years how to make one of the worst parts of the game a little more decent.

As has been said in the GW feedback thread, there are still issues and it’s causing frustration. I think the biggest frustration is the lack of a clue since it was released by devs. How can they not know some of the issues that arise in guild wars? It’s not possible for any sense of empathy to be afforded any more.

Old GW we had no pre turn generators. We had 1 copy of each troop on defence max, and you could not repeat that troop that week. I remember in 2022 we lost B1 1st place in part due to the scoring bug but also because a player had accidentally put a troop twice that week. We didn’t have a checker at this point and well it was just missed. It sucked but those were the rules, and they were balanced.

Now we have been given troops that gain mana before they go. We now have troops that if you multiply they can get absurd amounts of mana. There is nothing, nothing you can do to stop them unless you stun them, or silence them, which means a minimum of 3 extra turns and often can be 12. You also lol need not be frozen.

No stun and certainly no silence options are common, it’s usually hero stun only. I’ve known a player make 19 extra turns and still not stun a Thief hero. Then you probably need freeze them but they can still cast and loop on the green they match, going into a troop you can’t freeze or stun in most of the guild wars.

I really don’t know why we still are allowing multiples with restrictions so tight. It’s not any form of test of skill, it’s luck you beat them if you don’t have good stun or silence options. Drain doesn’t work. I’ve seen a board with no 4 matches on gain 90 mana from wildcards BEFORE their turn.

Why do the opponents have greater stats at higher tiers?

Restrictions are like 36 troops vs 220.

Give us wildcards to import. Sure let it cost silver marks. Give us kingdom and type. Maybe change the map into areas, Swords Edge/Maugrim Woods/Silverglade/Pridelands - county of Wessex  split Krystara into sections like old counties/states. Whatever, anything but Wild Plains or Suncrest.

Imagination, something other than boneheaded no fun options.

I also think it’s overburdening on players to play every day.

I mean it’s bugged anyway, still doesn’t show the right splash screen, today was empty, last 2 wars empty. Players going 5-0 and showing 1-2 in roster.
