clarify again the question on class restriction, because there is a possible double interpretation of the previous answer (where you were asked about CLASS and weapons):
at the first guild war will there be a BROKEN SPIRE and the class restriction in attack is WARLORD? or can we use any class in attack?
will there be any class restriction in defense based on positioning in keep in defense?
currently in pvp medals in defense are disable, it does not depend on what medals are selected from the defending player (this can be seen if in pvp battle click on the army and look at its bonuses and do not find anything about medals). accordingly, the question - in GW in defense will be affected by the medals of a particular player? I hope that I do not need to explain how important this is (hello freeze without orpheus).
if a player left the guild during the setup of defense and a new player came - he will be able to participate in the guild war? I understood correctly that the line - is an hour before the start of the first day of battles?
Are the current attack restrictions include class OR only weapon (broken spire)?
At a “map” of a keep there’s a “ways” between tiers. Are they real ways between bildings? For example in a green keep if i chose to beat Glade at a first tier will i able to chose a Portal (not connecnted to a Glade) at a 2 tier? And if I beat a Coockhouse - i will hawe no other options besides of beating maze after it?
1 Only your weapon and your Troops are restricted to whatever the event attack is or the Keep defense is… your class is irrelevant.
2. All defense restrictions have been shared, they are troop types only except at the Palace, which is a colour.
3. No, medals are not tied to your defense team - so when someone attacks them, there aren’t medal bonuses.
4. If a player joins a Guild during an active GW event, they cannot defend a location, they will only be able to attack.
As mentioned above… Broken Spire restriction will be troops and weapons from that Kingdom
In the example of the Green keep… once you beat the Gate you can go to the Shrine OR the Glad > if you beat the Glade then you can do the Fletcher OR the Cookhouse… etc etc. You set your path through the Keep.
You cannot go from the Glade to the Portal,.
Thank you for clarifying this. Having to be restricted by the Broken Spire hero class (Warlord) would have been very problematic in certain situations.
Not having Orpheus medals set on defense is something that we can take advantage of though. For example, if they don’t have Orpheus medals and no way to cleanse, 4 matches with elementalist will make quick work of them.
We’re all going to have to learn and adapt. People that have waited this long for Guild Wars to return might as well give it a shot.
@Jeto thanks for the quick replies!
I have one more question, which is about the bonus 1000 points ( Building Sets & Score Bonuses). i didn’t really understand how it would work.
can we get this bonus once a day - if we defeat/capture at least once all locations in KEEP? or can we get this bonus EVERY time we capture all locations once - let’s say 3 people took THREE different paths from the gate to the palace, defeated each one on their own path (1 of them defeated the palace), and the guild got 1000 points?
You get this, once a day, if your guild as a whole, has defeated every single location in a keep at least once.
So, if you won gate > glade > cookhouse > maze > palace, someone else did gate > glade > fletcher > apothecary and another person did shrine > portal > temple - then your Guild gets an additional 1,000 points
You only need to win a battle at each location once.
This is a longstanding (almost fundamental) issue with the Hero troop generally, because the Class assigns the Hero’s secondary Troop Type (Warlord/Titan = Giant, etc.).
For example, on a whim I browsed a few PVP regions with Troop Type restrictions in place, and it didn’t take long to find this defense team as a spot example:
Assassin (rogue) class in a Knight zone
Trick or Treat / Assassin hero
Champion of Anu
Dragonknight Amira
Immortal Libara
Again, Rogue typed hero in a Knight required zone.
Thanks for clarification. I was thinking we could get multiple times - say, if every building were conquered at least 10 times, we would get 10 x 1000 bonus point. Since that’s not the case, it greatly reduces room for (and therefore, difficulty of) coordination. I’m both disappointed slightly and relaxed greatly.
No, I don’t have stats on who loved GW and who didn’t. Sadly, I don’t think the devs do, either. What I do know is that pretty much all of the most experienced and most organised players and guilds did love Guild Wars, and saw it as the epitome of the game. I don’t think the new “GW” game mode will hold the same status or interest for these players. That means, the community is likely to lose a large chunk of its most experienced players. This is both normal and very sad.
As for the second thing you quoted from me, you seem to have misunderstood what I was trying to say. This was nothing to do with who liked Guild Wars. Rather, it’s a general rule of thumb which is a common problem in most competitive games. My suggestion was that flattening the reward curve (for any game mode) encourages more people to put effort into it.
I respect your opinion on this, but assuming you didn’t like Guild Wars, I guess we’re in different sections of the Gems community.
Incidentally, for those of us who did like Guild Wars, the devs “promised” to bring it back. As I suggested, that is NOT what they’re doing. Instead, they’re replacing it with a completely different game mode. We will see how it pans out, but a lot of keen Guild Wars players are very disappointed.
If I understand correctly, it is exactly like this: you can get the bonus 10 times a day (3 different paths for 30 players)
In the initial summary image you can read with great difficulty that they have 2,000 points for “sets defeated” and the location with the least number of victories has exactly 2
Hi Risa, from my understanding of the notes each player only has 5 GW sigils (5 battles) per day. There are 10 locations to defeat. Therefore the maximum sets a guild of 30 players can achieve with perfect wins are 3 Conquest Sets for a total bonus of 3000 additional points.
We cannot possibly get it 10 times a day because the amount of battles is only 5 per player.
Therefore with 30 players in a guild, the maximum set count would be 3.
In a guild of 30 people the maximum is 10: for example following the scheme above, if the players are divided into 10 for each path each location will be defeated at least 10 times and therefore 10 sets defeated
